ye.. twice the power for 5x the price. There wasnt really any competition to begin with. If porsche didnt just stay with the gt3/gt2 and made a whole another car just to beat the AMG one(like merc did)... it wouldnt really have any chance. Porsche is on the pinacle of the automotive industry with technology.

Seriously, there is no chance the 3RS MR will be dangorous to the AMG One. It´s in the high speed section like Kesselchen, Mutkurve, Döttinger Höhe, etc. where it loses time and they won´t be any faster there with more downforce. Atleast not fast enough to gain so much time. And afterall, AMG is rumourd to be testing on the NOS again cuz their record was set under really unideal conditions, imo they could be 10s up just by having perfect conditions and no damp track, considering the track is like 21km long. The 2RS will do some damage tho with the added power...
Saw this in person last month testing at the Nurburgring. I can only give a personal opinion, but “oh my god” did it go round corners so fast. There was plenty of fast cars out that day, including that Yangwang EV and loads of GT3’s etc. The MR was next level, especially on the wiggly bits.

Slap a GT2RS engine in that MR 992 RS spec and you have another shot at the record. Not gonna happen with 525 horsepower, but it will beat all other records for street legal cars under $1M.
With all due respect, I think there's a little mistake in what you said about comparing GT3 RS and AMG One times. 6:35's Amg were registered with the distance of 20.8 Km while 6:44's Gt3 rs were with 20.6 Km. So Manthey Racing has a much harder work to do. Anyway, it's a great video, very informative. Great job!!!
and if u look at the conditions of the amg one lap u can see wet spots all over the map, the amg one could have gone 5 to 10 seconds faster under better conditions for sure

8:27 MR version was NOT almost 20 sec faster than the stock version - "just" about 8,5 sec ... Stock 991 GT2 RS was 6:47.25 on the about 300m shorter Auto Sport track version back in 2017 --> th-cam.com/video/h-rJvriZmRU/w-d-xo.html 991 GT2 RS MR did finally _(in 2021)_ a 6:38.835 on the 300m Auto Sport track version and 6:43.300 on the whole 20 832 m lap AMG One did a 6:30.705 on the short lap (back in October 2022) and a 6:35.183 on the whole lap. Only the new 992 GT2 RS _(maybe only with MR Kit)_ will take the crown of the AMG One, which had about at least 3-5 sec more in the pocket _(wet track parts, driving mistakes, same new track parts etc.)_ Absolutely no chance for the GT3 RS MR to beat it, because not enough horsepower.
the amg one time was set in damp condition, i believe the mr kit can shave 3 maybe 4 seconds off the stock rs. the duty to beat the amg one time lies on the 992 gt2rs mr.
It lost all the beauty of the 911 to post a lap. I feel GTD is actually still good looking at least. I can barely even see a 911 in that nest of wings and slats.

@@LWRC None of the GT cars are decent daily drivers, specially the GT3RS and GT2RS, but they are great track cars, which is their main focus. If you want a daily driveable 911, you can get either the Carrera or Turbo, or just straight up go to another Porsche lineup such as their SUVs or sedans. But I agree, it is sad seeing these track weapons being treated as garage queens when they were made for ripping through corners in a track.
