    This was so beautiful, my whole theater was silently sobbing. Violet Evergarden has a special place in my heart that I think will take decades for something to take its place.

      It was the same for my theater! This movie will be something I cherish for years to come, and it says a lot that the one of the only films that I resonated more came from the same studio! (A Silent Voice). It speaks to how amazing KyoAni is with their craft.

    In Japan there was a sample of letter that Violet wrote to Gilbert given as a prize to limited people who watched the movie. It does appear that the last line of the letter was not read in the movie, the last line of the letter is that Violet said "I love you, major". I don't know why the movie did not included that but that would change the whole meaning of the last scene, which explained why Gilbert said what he said to Violet on the beach. Another significant in this is that Violet has grow to the point to tell Gilbert "I love you" in form of the letter, but she is not yet fully capable of speaking it out loud. There are many other significant significant line that linked Ulysse(the sick boy) story to the last scene, such as Violet said she want to tell the Major that she understand a little what "I love you" mean and Ulysse ask "Is that all?", but Violet did not answer. It would've make sense the Ulysse's death has made Violet realized that answer and that is why she was able to wrote "I love you, major" in the letter. I do not know why they decide not to read the last line in the movie but I hope this can help people that felt a bit "awkward" or confuse toward the last crying scene where Violet and Gilbert finally meet as well as how the stories tied together.

    Everyone in the theater was crying. You could tell when there was laughter. The sadness was real

      It was honestly surreal... you don't get many films that take the entire theater on an emotional rollercoaster.

    Just saw it in theaters. I could NOT STOP CRYING. It was just perfect...I have no words for how perfect it was. I’m so sad that my favorite anime has come to a close, but extremely happy it ended this way.

    I wish I could've seen this movie in theatres. Sadly all of my city theatres have been closed since the first lockdown. It would've been such a rich experience sobbing to a fantastic series with a room full of people.

    i had a dream a long long time ago where my brother had died due to a truck accident, it felt really real and till this day i know exactly how that felt. with this movie, it brought those emotions back and amplified it beyond to what i can describe. it was the best movie ive ever watch (coming from a new anime consumer) and it would forever have a place in my heart. the amount of tears Ive shed was a truckload as i absolutely lost it in the theaters. this movie was perfect with its highs and lows and im grateful that i happened to start watching anime in this time. this video really deserves more views and likes as it made me tear just by watching this short and sweet video.

    (Spoiler) Little late to the party but just finished watching this masterpiece. Naturally had tears here and there throughout the movie. But my heart was actually hurting when Yuris was dying. Oddly enough, my older brother passed away just last year from cancer. So the timing couldn’t have been worse lol. It’s amazing how a simple beautiful movie could make person feel a physical pain like this. Only a truly special work of art can do this.

    Ahggggggggggg, the movie is a master piece, I really enjoyed the narrative flow and during the whole thing I just thought that the dynamic in violet and gilbert relationship was nothing but perfect, I was concerned that the animation would be affected bc of the attack in 2019 but no, truly I’m in love.

    When I watched this in theaters I yelled out loud Bakero! with some people watching. I was so moved to that scene where the major rejected violet afterwards some of the audiences too shout out loud to my surprise.

    Can someone explain what happened with major Gilbert and violet and what type of relationship they had?
    I got the vibe of a father daughter relationship but online it says they married at the end of the movie which is kinda weird with Gilbert being 29 and violet being 14 when he found her

    • @antonhallergren588
      @antonhallergren588 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No she was only 10 when he found her. But it's unclear whether he was 29 when they got married or if he was 29 when they were separated when she was 14. So he's either around 11 or 15 years older than her. Idk if that's so weird, my grandfather is 13 years older than my grandmother for example.

  • @lylytv6293
    @lylytv6293 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    for me, the relationship between Gilbert and Violet can be summed up in one word it would be choice, when violet stay by Gilbert's side because of oder she has no choice but she obviously likes it Gilbert treats her more like a person than a weapon but their relationship later becomes problematic because Gilbert doesn't notice the change in Violet from her stay his side because of oder to she stay at his side because she want it
