the ending is a bit controversial among the fans, some think it would've been better to keep the major dead so violet's emotional growth would pay off with her being to continue her life without him but personally I prefer this ending because man, I just want her to be happy

I’m case you still don’t know, the old lady in the post office is call Nerine and if you go all the way back to the beginning of the series she is the one that rejects Venedic’s offer for lunch.
We get glimpses of her working in the reception throughout the series and in this movie as well.

You may not cry that much, but imagine someone who cries incredibly easily watching thing show. And I binged it all in 1 day! (Minus this movie since it wasn't out yet) The rivers I cried that day & then re-cried the same rivers when I watched this movie. It's hands down my favorite emotional anime that I don't think can ever be surpassed. A Silent Voice comes close, but Violet is just too precious.

I watched this in cinema and the museum scene hit me like a truck upon realizing that all of the people we loved in CH postal company are already gone. Then Im a mess til the end of the movie

among the ost's there is a song called "tegami" which means letter that is from the Letters and Doll: Looking back on the memories of Violet Evergarden album and is sang by violet's va, the lyrics are a letter for the major and I cry every time I listen to it
