@@Demigah Deadshot was the leader of the Suicide Squad for years. Having the team without him kinda feels like having Venom without Eddie Brock imo. They could’ve just said this guy was a successor who was trained by the original or just don’t acknowledge that he was white.
Which is weird cause DC is usually better than this. Marvel are the ones that usually force changes to fit a movie. After Suicide Squad, most adaptations of Deadshot still kept him white. So it was very strange they made him black in this game. If this was in a different universe, like Gotham Knights I’d have no problem with it. However, they set it in Arkham where they already established him as being white.
That’s why casting for movies kind of matters. It’s a representation of how they exist in the comics, so a wider audience can understand who they are… but when they want to get “creative” with the casting, suddenly the larger audience assumes that’s exactly how they are from the source material. They’re never going to do actual research, they have the movie with modern casting depictions to do that for them. Now we’re stuck with fake “real” Deadshot.
Now that you mention it. Deadshot in Arkham Origins and the Arkham games pulled off stunts that no regular assassin could do. He blew off DeathStrokes sword 10 miles away. Meanwhile this Deadshot hasn’t done anything impressive to be called “The Man that Never Misses”. The only thing he misses is his comebacks
Since you mentioned Black Manta, it really makes me realize that if they weren't going to make a Superman game and wanted to make a Kill The Justice League game, they should've made this a Legion Of Doom game. It eliminates like 95% of the bs plot armor in this game's story by a wide margin.

I always figured Deadshot to be more of a sniper than a tactical shooter he plays it safe, takes his time and shoots from a distance. Bloodsport seems like the kind of guy that goes John Wick Gangsta.
Dead shot has been known to fight more close too but he’s definitely more a sniper. After all he has his trademark arm cannons which they don’t even use.
Exactly, using Bloodsport as another example since they are similar. Bloodsport didn't put Superman in the ICU in the movie by beating him in a duel. He no doubt planned meticulously for the perfect shot with that kryptonite bullet and then presumably as he tried to make his escape the entire damn city tore itself apart to track him down. That's what Deadshot should be too. Meticulous, ghost-like and efficient.
The worst part is the "fake" deadshot had a military background in Batman's second year. So at what point do you just realize that the "real" deadshot would probably be pretty old for the timeline to work in any way

The writer of this game clearly just did not care. If Batman has extensive files on how to kill each member of the Justice League, he clearly wouldn't have been caught lacking on something so obvious.
They could have given us an actual Arkham game where it’s Batman trying to survive and take down/ rescue the league members using his own contingency plans. It’d also make more sense if them being mind controlled is what makes him return as Batman since his identity being exposed is what caused him to blow up the manor and go into hiding at the end of Arkham Knight…until this game completely undid that
An easier and more acceptable way, would've just been that the black deathshot was like white deathshot's apprendice, or student or something like that, would've even made for an interesting little side story too.

It’s funny how SS KTJL attempted to retcon Deadshot seen in City and Origins as a fake. Because the “imposter” can make incredible trick shots while the “real” Deadshot and can’t do that and needs a jet pack to travel!
OG Deadshot was the best. In one incident report in the Arkhamverse, he took out a squat swat unit with a single bullet, using riot shields to ricochet the shot.

Deadshot is one of my favorite suicide squad members he's cool in the animated films, and as person of color saying that the OG deadshot was a fake bothered me. That's not how I wanted to be represented. They gave him the most stereotypically dialog 😂 there's a super villian called tattoo man a black guy who makes his tattoos come to life he would have been cool to have in the game.

The crazy thing is Bronze Tiger is in the Arkhamverse, he was at Blackgate, not only did he briefly fight Batman, but he helped him too. Waller set Rick Flag after him, he joined the squad but bailed quickly.

why introduce the multiverse? it would have been more easily explainable with new guy was trained and inherits deadshot's name like a title. while the one we played against f'd off to be a father after cutting a deal. hell you can use that to explain why ss deadshot has bitter feelings toward arkham deadshot which may fade as he understands the motive for him leaving the life. plus we all know waller couldn't and will not give a shit which deadshot is at her beck and call as long as he can shoot among the best. so while Arkham ds is being a dad suicide squad ds is locked up and is called upon during the game. it wasn't hard to justify a new deadshot and i did this in like 10 minute. now i do have the advantage of being hobby fiction writer so idea creation is slightly easier but any fan of the series could and probably have made similar stories.

It’s also weird how they had Jon Stewart and not Hal Jorden for Green Lantern since one of the only times Jon was on the League was in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. Any other time it’s Hal that fills in the spot that GL’s have on the team while the others do the duty of The Guardians.
They could have made it Guy and while it still wouldn't make sense that he loses it would make more as well as making more sense on deciding to go in the ship as Guy doesn't like to plan ahead at all or do any analysis of the situation or they could have had someone other than Green Lantern heck why not Martian Manhunter he has a very exploitative weakness and therefore could actually be defeated by theses buffoons on accident

There's audio files that say they're both Deadshot. They have the same DNA and the same fingerprints. So Deadshot thinks white Deadshot is from Earth 2. Although I think this Deadshot could be a plant from Earth-2 as some big plot twist. Granted I also don't believe they planned any of this out.
That raises more plotholes cause if he's from Earth 2 how do his files and entire information about his life exist on this earth but nothing about the black one

It makes less sense for the old Deadshot to be from a different universe and never mention it and then this new one shows up out of nowhere and kills his doppelganger. So either he's a plant to take his doppelganger's place, or he was abducted and taken to Earth-1 and believes he's still on his Earth.

This game should've had: a different cast (like the one you suggested with Red Hood and Deathstroke), less cartoony looking graphics (more like Asylum or Knight, please) and a story that isn't so grandiose. Like maybe Black Mask (I think he's dead in the Arkhamverse though) found a powerful alien artefact that *has* the potential to screw up Earth big time (potentially open a boom tube to Apokalips), and the squad are sent to retrieve it and shut down any Darkseid cultist behaviour due to the artefact brainwashing the people that found it. Though the actual enemies you fight are NOT the Justice League or any incredibly powerful entity, it's all smaller scale but the stakes can still be high. Maybe don't even set it in the Arkhamverse, that story has been put to rest well enough.

Agreed. But iirc Black Spider is dead in the Arkhamverse, he was killed by Waller. The last time we saw Bronze Tiger was after his fight with Batman at Black Gate, Rick Flag did speak to him, but he didn't stick around long enough. My guess is he joined SS briefly than bailed. Shiva was doing her own thing and Deathstroke was approached by Waller, and most likely did what Bronze Tiger did, later on, fighting Batman, and joining with AK (Jason Todd).
The excuse they give is that we Arkham Origins/City Deadshot could’ve been from another dimension, but if you’re going to go down that route, why not just have the new Deadshot from another dimension. That could’ve added into his motivation. Maybe he works on the squad because Amanda Waller promised to send him home and TO HIS DAUGHTER if he does enough tasks for her. He would, of course know that she’s lying, but she would be his only chance of getting back.
Bloodsport, especially the abridged version of Young Justice would've been stellar. Bloodsport, Killer Frost, Deathstroke and Lady Shiva would've made a far better Suicide Squad.

This is what happens when you try to meat ride the Suicide Squad movies. I'm so sick of the Margot Robbie/New 52 Harley Quinn design. Not only does Black Deadshot contradicts the established Arkham-verse continuity. But King Shark's inclusion in this game isn't any better. The dude literally died in the Assault on Arkham movie.
WB isn’t able to read the room, meaning their audience, the already established history of the world they placed this game in, and they especially don’t know what will make them money, and I honestly doubt they’ll ever understand, especially when it comes to the gaming side of things. They’re willing to ruin player experience, storyline’s that’ve been established for a decade all for the tiniest cut of bread.
With this game in general, the cope that so many people were huffing (except those who know just why these "modern" writers identify with villains) was that since the Suicide Squad almost always go against orders and/or screw up, that the "kill the Justice League" objective would turn into freeing and working with them against Brainiac, and likely against Waller since her team would love to have mind-control tech like that. But the current-year writers hate unambiguous representations of goodness, so it was always doomed to some plot-contrived nonsense that would result in the League being humiliated and killed.
It was literally a PR move nothing more. The original Deadshot had such a better story and we had a whole movie based around him essentially. “Batman: Assault on Arkham”
This comment runs a bit long, so read at your own peril. 2:11, To follow this thought, Bloodsport being most known for shooting Superman with a Kryptonite bullet somewhat works as a reason to have him be in this game instead of Deadshot. And even further on this point, part of what worked for Bloodsport in The Suicide Squad was that his similarities to Deadshot (some of which being because they didn’t get Will Smith back for this movie) and Peacemaker was a joke of how many military trained super-mercenary type characters with similar tragic backstories, broken families and proud, but ruthless dispositions are out there. But even with those similarities (down to the strained father-daughter relationship), Bloodsport worked because he was written with more complexity beyond that super-mercenary archetype with a tragic past and a bad attitude, something the previous Suicide Squad film and Kill The Justice League’s versions of Deadshot kind of fail at (not to say Will Smith did a bad job or he wasn't characterized well, he just had the misfortune of being in a movie that was chopped up and stitched back together) . 3:24, Bat-Family Therapy without a doubt for just how intense the ending gets but also the mental image of Jack Ryder turning into Creeper and causing Jason to have a complete meltdown. If there were any character that has the potential of having an interesting and (in a series like Bat-Family where everyone’s roasting the PTSD out of each other) absolutely hilarious dynamic with Jason, it would be Creeper, not just because he looks like the Joker and the two getting into conflict is a given just for that, but also for the sole fact that with the right kind of writing and if Creeper had an origin specifically related to the Joker in some way (like some mix of his genes with the same kind of serum as Titan or the Man-Bat formula) would kind of bond them in a way. Jason would probably want Creeper dead for resembling the man that killed him and Creeper (who'd just regenerate after nearly dying if Jason did try anything) would probably mock Jason for trying to be a "better Batman" while only slaughtering goons and washed up gangsters like Black Mask. It'd be like Spiderman deciding to execute criminals and supervillains and then going after Stilt Man. It's probably just wishful thinking since Jason doesn't get to do a whole lot besides have the same arguments with the Bat-Family and maybe having someone new to bounce off of that could affect Jason on a personal level could be the thing that makes him not go around in circles too much.
In Batman’s defense they have the same DNA, name and everything said in the audio logs the Arkham movie also either isn’t canon or is a different universe or something

There's many reasons to swap races like that. Also when you have many characters with the same archetype, you need switches to differentiate them from each other. He was White From creation and switched to Black.

I always figured Deadshot to be more of a sniper than a tactical shooter he plays it safe, takes his time and shoots from a distance. Bloodsport seems like the kind of guy that goes John Wick Gangsta.
Dead shot has been known to fight more close too but he’s definitely more a sniper. After all he has his trademark arm cannons which they don’t even use.
Exactly, using Bloodsport as another example since they are similar. Bloodsport didn't put Superman in the ICU in the movie by beating him in a duel. He no doubt planned meticulously for the perfect shot with that kryptonite bullet and then presumably as he tried to make his escape the entire damn city tore itself apart to track him down. That's what Deadshot should be too. Meticulous, ghost-like and efficient.

OG Deadshot was the best. In one incident report in the Arkhamverse, he took out a squat swat unit with a single bullet, using riot shields to ricochet the shot.

Deadshot is one of my favorite suicide squad members he's cool in the animated films, and as person of color saying that the OG deadshot was a fake bothered me. That's not how I wanted to be represented. They gave him the most stereotypically dialog 😂 there's a super villian called tattoo man a black guy who makes his tattoos come to life he would have been cool to have in the game.

There's audio files that say they're both Deadshot. They have the same DNA and the same fingerprints. So Deadshot thinks white Deadshot is from Earth 2. Although I think this Deadshot could be a plant from Earth-2 as some big plot twist. Granted I also don't believe they planned any of this out.

So either he's a plant to take his doppelganger's place, or he was abducted and taken to Earth-1 and believes he's still on his Earth.

This game should've had: a different cast (like the one you suggested with Red Hood and Deathstroke), less cartoony looking graphics (more like Asylum or Knight, please) and a story that isn't so grandiose. Like maybe Black Mask (I think he's dead in the Arkhamverse though) found a powerful alien artefact that *has* the potential to screw up Earth big time (potentially open a boom tube to Apokalips), and the squad are sent to retrieve it and shut down any Darkseid cultist behaviour due to the artefact brainwashing the people that found it. Though the actual enemies you fight are NOT the Justice League or any incredibly powerful entity, it's all smaller scale but the stakes can still be high. Maybe don't even set it in the Arkhamverse, that story has been put to rest well enough.

The last time we saw Bronze Tiger was after his fight with Batman at Black Gate, Rick Flag did speak to him, but he didn't stick around long enough. My guess is he joined SS briefly than bailed. Shiva was doing her own thing and Deathstroke was approached by Waller, and most likely did what Bronze Tiger did, later on, fighting Batman, and joining with AK (Jason Todd).

WB isn’t able to read the room, meaning their audience, the already established history of the world they placed this game in, and they especially don’t know what will make them money, and I honestly doubt they’ll ever understand, especially when it comes to the gaming side of things. With this game in general, the cope that so many people were huffing (except those who know just why these "modern" writers identify with villains) was that since the Suicide Squad almost always go against orders and/or screw up, that the "kill the Justice League" objective would turn into freeing and working with them against Brainiac, and likely against Waller since her team would love to have mind-control tech like that.
But the current-year writers hate unambiguous representations of goodness, so it was always doomed to some plot-contrived nonsense that would result in the League being humiliated and killed.
It was literally a PR move nothing more. The original Deadshot had such a better story and we had a whole movie based around him essentially. “Batman: Assault on Arkham”

2:11, To follow this thought, Bloodsport being most known for shooting Superman with a Kryptonite bullet somewhat works as a reason to have him be in this game instead of Deadshot.
And even further on this point, part of what worked for Bloodsport in The Suicide Squad was that his similarities to Deadshot (some of which being because they didn’t get Will Smith back for this movie) and Peacemaker was a joke of how many military trained super-mercenary type characters with similar tragic backstories, broken families and proud, but ruthless dispositions are out there. But even with those similarities (down to the strained father-daughter relationship), Bloodsport worked because he was written with more complexity beyond that super-mercenary archetype with a tragic past and a bad attitude, something the previous Suicide Squad film and Kill The Justice League’s versions of Deadshot kind of fail at (not to say Will Smith did a bad job or he wasn't characterized well, he just had the misfortune of being in a movie that was chopped up and stitched back together) .
3:24, Bat-Family Therapy without a doubt for just how intense the ending gets but also the mental image of Jack Ryder turning into Creeper and causing Jason to have a complete meltdown. If there were any character that has the potential of having an interesting and (in a series like Bat-Family where everyone’s roasting the PTSD out of each other) absolutely hilarious dynamic with Jason, it would be Creeper, not just because he looks like the Joker and the two getting into conflict is a given just for that, but also for the sole fact that with the right kind of writing and if Creeper had an origin specifically related to the Joker in some way (like some mix of his genes with the same kind of serum as Titan or the Man-Bat formula) would kind of bond them in a way. Jason would probably want Creeper dead for resembling the man that killed him and Creeper (who'd just regenerate after nearly dying if Jason did try anything) would probably mock Jason for trying to be a "better Batman" while only slaughtering goons and washed up gangsters like Black Mask. It'd be like Spiderman deciding to execute criminals and supervillains and then going after Stilt Man. It's probably just wishful thinking since Jason doesn't get to do a whole lot besides have the same arguments with the Bat-Family and maybe having someone new to bounce off of that could affect Jason on a personal level could be the thing that makes him not go around in circles too much.

There's many reasons to swap races like that. Also when you have many characters with the same archetype, you need switches to differentiate them from each other. He was White From creation and switched to Black.
Idk if he was supposed to be hispanic in Assault on Arkham, but the costume and stache were rocking.
