I would highly recommend a chanel called The Salon Life (nail specialist called Anna). I've only recently discovered her myself and in just a few days her no nonsense advice has made a huge difference already.
I'm 45 and have been managing hand and body eczema my entire life. No one talks about it like this - including the dermatologists I've seen over the years. Excellent video. Thank you!
You're a first person who talks about the whole hand care routine that is needed in case of super dry skin. It took me years and laugh of others to figure things out by myself and start using gloves for everything. I'm glad others can find out what to do now much quicker. Thank you.
A video on nailcare would be great and helpful! This video is helpful as well. I’m a nurse, constantly washing my hands. I’m constantly applying hand cream and my nails don’t look good. My cuticles are very dry.
I’ve been putting a bit of Kerasal on my cuticles at night (thank you Salon Life!) and it’s improved the peeling of skin around my nails. I also put a drop of oil on my fingers after washing. And I’ve been using a cream with urea and warm jojoba oil soaks every week and that has helped keep my hands soft during the cold winter months.
Yes definitely would like a nail care related video. I think it might go "hand- in-hand" with this video. My nails are a mess in the winter. So moisture, I'm guessing, is the issue.
I started using Korean hand masks with my hand care routine. And wow in a few weeks my hands are soft and look younger again. I’m over 50 thank you for the information Doctor Sam
Thank you for the tips. I use 2-3 drops of vegetable glycerin on my wet hands, after washing. It moisturizes and heals them when they're dry, red, and cracking.
A video on nail care!! Yes! I have been doing the Superglue tip for a while now and swear by it. I work in a retail setting and always use hand sanitizer and touch cardboard boxes so I get lots of fissures that are incredibly painful. I wear cotton gloves at night and my favorite hand cream is a glycerin-based one. Fenty Skin makes one but it is expensive. I found one from my dermatologist for 10 bucks. Going to look for that Gloves in a bottle. Thanks for all the fantastic tips!
Yes, a nail care video would be useful! By the way, Ana from Salon Life gives excellent advice on how to care for proximal nail fold skin that sticks to your cuticle and nail plate while they grow.
I struggle with my hands and love the Vanicream liquid cleanser as hand soap. Very gentle and non-irritating. For hand cream/lotion Elta MD So Silky Hand Cream is very nice. Non-greasy and absorbs quickly!
I will be adding these hand products to my cart, for sure. I had purchased all of your drugstore holy grail products but have desperately needed something for my hands- over washing and winter conditions. I had to wash my hands soon after this video and used the cerave face wash- immediately I could tell it was less drying. I do use a little retinol on the backs of my hands at night with the residual retinol product I use on my face (that was a tip from another dermatologist that just made sense) Thanks so much for this timely video- I needed this. A request for a future topic is foot care. I’d purchased Kerasal intensive foot care on your recommendation but I think a more comprehensive routine is needed for these sad feet
This is so helpful! I’d love to see a video on nail care-and even at-home pedicure tips, like how often to exfoliate, are Ped-Eggs safe to use, how often to moisturize feet (especially in the summer-I don’t love really creamy formulas when I’m wearing sandals), etc. Thanks so much! 😊
White cotton socks and glove have been in my life since I was in grade school.I’m 56 and now use the vinyl gloves to clean around the house as well. I use the cotton gloves inside my winter gloves just in case. There are a pair under every sink in my house. I have Eczema and Psoriasis. So much fun! Lotion is at every sink in my house. And Aveno unscented body cleanser too. Only cleanser that helps. I use Cerave and La Roche-Posay. Cerave healing ointment is my best friend. I take an oral med to keep everything at bay.
I deal with atopic dermatitis from a very young age, everything you said are acts that make the dermatitis worse but from my experience with it,it really comes down to mental health, when I am stressed and struggling in my life, my hands, my skin reflects it back to me like a wake up call, that I should take time for my self care routine, meditate, breathe, write in my journal, and apply a shitload of hand moisturiser. Really important to mention it as acts to prevent the worsening of skin problems as atopic dermatitis!! Thank you so much for the video!! It will be really great to have a video about how mental health effects skin❤
When my hands are very cracked and suffering, soaking them in a mineral salt bath for ten minutes really helps heal my skin and minimize itching. I've also been liking the Cavilon Durable Barrier Cream from 3M.
Forgive me if I missed this but may I ask for the links to the gloves you mentioned? Don’t see them in the description box and may have missed it. Thank you so much!!
I started getting dermatitis on my hands AFTER I started using gloves. And it’s not an allergic reaction because I’ve tried them all, nitrile, latex, vinyl..you name it.
I use nitrile gloves when cleaning and in the kitchen, garden gloves, and leather winter gloves. As a child I had eczema and had to learn to use them a lot. Lots of hand creams. Now, in my late sixties, my hands look much younger.
I would love to see a video on nail care. I have really made an effort this winter on my hands. I usually get the fissures around my thumb nail and they are so painful. This year, I have had ZERO! The extra care, wearing gloves religiously both, outdoors in the cold but also during dish washing and other cleaning as well as remembering to lotion my hands often has worked wonders. I do not remember a winter that I did not have fissures.
My hands looks old and I'm only 17 ,and now I'm really insecure about it 😢.Now I'm looking for videos like this that can help me to get rid of my old looking hands ,thank u for making this video
When my hands are full on unhappy almost any and every lotion REALLY burns for hours after applying. The two exceptions are O'Keeffes's Working Hands or Burts's Bees Almond and Milk hand cream. After using those my hands feel like the fire is soothed rather than flamed. I'm curious to use the lotion recommended in this video. And yes the superglue is fantastic. Trust her! Also a product called 'New Skin' I find helpful if you don't want to go the superglue route. I already use(infrequently) a barrier cream suggested to me by a construction worker they use called SBS 44 protective cream. If you are familiar with the product, is it redundant to also try the Gloves in a Bottle? Thank you so much for this video.
A favorite hand cream of mine would be Aveeno and cerave. My daughter is 29 years old, at age three was diagnosed with eczema . We were taught by her pediatrician, what to use and a bit of trial and error, luckily found success!
😮 you are Very beautiful for this video!! Thank you so very much! But as far as the super glue, what do you recommend? I’m a new sub & glad I found you! 😊❤
One thing that I've done is to order a few sample size bottles of Cetaphil baby wash. I keep one in my purse, to use when in a public bathroom rather than using their harsh antibacterial soap.
As an exflorist Neutrogena was my daily hand cream, having that barrier while working was very helpful. Believe me I’ve tried lots. Now days I go for CeraVe Reparative Hand cream which I find soft and soothing. I’m definitely going to try the Avène Cicalfate cream. It looks lovely. I don’t really like thin runny hand creams. Thankyou this was all so helpful. Gloves are a definite must whenever possible. I used to sleep with cotton gloves on as I couldn’t rest unless my hands were smothered with some sort of lotion at night. At the end of most days a florist has, at best, a few rose thorn nicks and scratches and eucalyptus gum residue all over our hands and I’ve had to use the old superglue trick once or twice.
Thank you for this info. I have had peeling nails for years and cannot get a handle on it. Nail polish will flake off almost instantly. A video on this issue would be appreciated
Thank you for another wonderful video. When I first became a nurse a mentor told me about Kerodex. It was kind of weird, but it provided great protection for my hands when I was washing them so many times a day. I applied it as directed when I started a shift and then maybe again after lunch. The protection it provided was amazing.
the neutrogena norwegian hand cream has been a staple for me since the 90s. a little goes a long way. putting lotion or vaseline on my hands and then putting cotton socks or gloves on them helps when my hands need a little tlc. works for feet too.
Eucerin Advanced Repair Hand Cream every night. So good! And I try to put the same in foot cream on after my shower before I put socks on every day. Just on heels. Takes a little longer to get the difference but it eventually works. Very informative video. Thank you. I have multiple contact allergies so I understand what you are saying about soaps and cleansers. Again, thank you.
Excellent video and a good reminder for me...gloves, gloves, gloves! I have tried all of the creams, the best for my hands is Eucerin Original Healing Cream. By far! I buy it for my dad too.
I eat A LOT of spice and something I've realized I can do, especially when I don't have gloves while cooking (and I don't eat with gloves) it's using a cleansing oil on my hands first before washing because it helps get that capsaicin off and it's helped my eyes and what not as well. Definitely should probably be followed up with a nice hand lotion since you're essentially double cleansing your hands but it's helped me a bunch!
My hand are constantly in and out of water and they were getting so painfully red and sore that sometimes I was even skipping washing them after I'd been to the bathroom urgh! I have lost count of the number of hand creams and lotions I have tried. I needed some intensive treatment and after coming across recommendations in on-line forums for salveation. I contacted the company mama nature and they suggested applying salveation at bed time and wearing cotton gloves. This made complete sense. After one week my hands were almost as good as new. I now use their hand angel hand cream on a daily basis because the salveation is not suitable as it is 'waxy' and only use the salveation when I get a 'flare up' usually during the colder weather here in NYC.
Sending this to my husband immediately! He washes his hands with dishwashing soap and barely moisturizes his hands and then wonders why his fingers are all cracked for months 🤦🏻♀️
My hand dermatitis has been so bad recently. I have used super glue for my fissures for years. It is so comforting especially in those first few days- so painful!
Please make a video about affordable eczema-friendly body (or hand) moisturizers. Preferably more affordable than those you mentioned. This would be hugely appreciated!
When I have tiny little cuts on my fingers where they bend, I like to used band-aids with hydrogel on them. For burns because it soaks them up and heals them quicker than usual. :)
I had fissures on my hands when the pandemic hit due to constant use of hand sanitizer. It was cured in a few days using a hand cream with urea and a small amount of petrolatum mixed with it. I also love the Avene mixed with petrolatum too. Switching out liquid hand soap with a gentle body wash to wash my hands has also helped. This was very informative. Thank you! Please make a video on nail health! I have never been able to keep my nails in good shape. They are always thin and the top layer of the nail is peeling away from the rest of the nail. I wear gloves when gardening and washing dishes but I find just washing my hands throughout the day makes my nails weak and I would love some tips on how to prevent this.
I discovered using Vanicream facial cleaner was the best, as far as facial cleaners for hand. Dental hygienist here. The itchiness just started a few weeks ago.
Great and original content on this video. I found this very helpful and will change the way I take care of my hands. Yes I would appreciate an additional video about nail care.
Funny that you mentioned vacation... my skin flares up on vacation because I use soaps in public restrooms and I am allergic to antibacterial soap. I forget to check. At home I have fragrance free soap that doesn't have antibacterial ingredients or irritants. I also have lotion at every sink at home. I forget to moisturize when I travel
Thanks for the video! I use gloves that came with their own laundry bag on Etsy - Grocery Gloves. Makes it easy to wash your gloves, not your hands! 😂 Love that. Would definitely like to see the nail video and I’d love one on how to slow down aging in hands if that’s possible. Appreciate you!! ❤
My hands would always dry out, crack and bleed in the winter and the only handcream that helped was the LRP cicaplast mains recommended by my derm. I think it is kinda similar to the norwegian formula but more luxurious.
For anyone that works in the vet field Prevail (accelerated hydrogen peroxide) can cause skin peeling and irritation. I've seen ppl at work use Prevail wipes as hand cleansing wipes and then they wonder why their hands are so dry smh. Keeping hands soft and hydrated is hard when you work in the medical field but washing or rinsing your hands after touching irritants, using gloves, and ALWAYS moisturizing after you wash your hands can really help. Having smooth skin isn't just about aesthetics because it can make it easier for bacteria to enter causing infections. This is something that's very important to keep in mind when you're working in a hospital. One thing I recently started incorporating is using a hydrating toner in the morning and at night on my hands (I use it on my face, neck and chest too). Back in my country I had bad allergic on my hands, at the beginning I tough was a fungus and nothing that I used helped me to heal Until y visited the doctor and I was surprise that he told me that mine was allergy to any type of soap.
I would love to see a video on nail care. Your videos are very helpful. They are clear, concise, and informative.
I would highly recommend a chanel called The Salon Life (nail specialist called Anna). I've only recently discovered her myself and in just a few days her no nonsense advice has made a huge difference already.

Have you been watching Anna from The Salon Life?😊
Me too. Anna is amazing isn't she?! 😁
@@chikara9776 you know it! Spreading the love!
Love the warm oil soaks Anna has recommended. It’s stopped my nails from peeling.
Anna is amazing 😊

Hello do you mind sharing which brand do you use?
O’keefes working hand cream is PHENOMENAL! Cured my splitting , chafed fingers in a few days.
CeraVe ointment is very helpful for dry cuticles (and lips). The added ceramides really help.
I like a lot of the Aveeno hand creams, especially the ones for eczema. Gold Bond Pure Moisture is also nice for hands. Yes, please do a nails video!
Thank you for the tips. I use 2-3 drops of vegetable glycerin on my wet hands, after washing. It moisturizes and heals them when they're dry, red, and cracking.

I have had a lot of trouble with my hands, and O'Keefes Working Hands works really well as my overnight hand cream.
My favorite hand cream is Eucerin Advanced Repair Hand Cream. I have been using it for years and it really helps my extremely dry hands 🙂
Yes, a nail care video would be useful! By the way, Ana from Salon Life gives excellent advice on how to care for proximal nail fold skin that sticks to your cuticle and nail plate while they grow.

Please do a video about treating sebaceous hyperplasia
I had fissures on my hands when the pandemic hit due to constant use of hand sanitizer. It was cured in a few days using a hand cream with urea and a small amount of petrolatum mixed with it. I also love the Avene mixed with petrolatum too. Switching out liquid hand soap with a gentle body wash to wash my hands has also helped. Great video very informative. Thank you.
Thank you!! Would love a video dedicated to eczema if possible. 🙏

Yes, we need info. on nail care. I'm 66 and feeling very dry.

100% about applying lotion as soon as you wash hands
I have anxiety, so my nails are a nightmare😅a video would be much appreciated!
My hands would always dry out, crack and bleed in the winter and the only handcream that helped was the LRP cicaplast mains recommended by my derm. I think it is kinda similar to the norwegian formula but more luxurious.

I know about superglue on superficial skin wounds since years ago I saw about it on an episode of CSI. 😇
