I prepared this rasa. Excellent taste. I have a doubt. We grind the Masala (pepper, jeera, soaked tur Dal, coconut, red chilli). Boiling the tamarind juice with turmeric and adding the Masala paste gives a thick gravy type of rasam. Mami added Dal dilute liquid. This is a good Rasam during winter. Pepper will give a soothing effect to the throat. Vaasanai Vera level due to presence of Dhaniya.

I make this with small variation in quantity of ingredients. Much less toor dal and more jeera and we call it jeera rasam. And less coconut
