      Thank you. Appreciate it. Dont forget to subscribe if you havent already. It's not that difficult i encourage you diy. I usually replace the rotors if they have a deep inner and outer lip on the edges of the rotor because resurfacing at that point may reult in the minimum spec. But technically they have a minimum thickness that you can measure I believe it's 27mm minimum spec but it also depends on the style rotor your vehicle has.

    Good job 👍 just a random question, i have excessive water vapour coming from the exhaust on our Lexus NX300h . As we live on a steep hill, on a morning start my Mrs pulled out of the driveway and proceeded up the hill. I noticed a trail of water vapour came out for 15 to 20 feet long.. Would you know if this is this considered normal ? Thanks

    • @harborareatech310
      @harborareatech310  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! Yes, it is normal. This means your catalytic converter is doing its job at filtering the exhaust gases. Also, condensation may build up overnight on the exhaust and can cause it to burn off at first startup. This is normal as well

    • @harborareatech310

      There should be a drain plug and a filler plug for those. Most likely it would be a 10mm hex

    Installed my brakes but squeaks when I reverse the car. I put the indicator side on the interior side of the calipers for both sides. Is there something you recommend? Thanks

    • @harborareatech310
      @harborareatech310  ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you replace your anti squeal shims? I would also recommend to go with the OE pads and lube the contact points on the pads.

    Great video! I put new rotors on my 2015 LEXUS RC 350 F SPORT and kept the brakes because they were still thick. Working good but so loud right before coming to a complete stop. I also tested driving slow then stopping but it's still loud. I didn't grease them up, could that be my mistake?

    • @harborareatech310
      @harborareatech310  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, the manual calls for adding grease at the contact points of the brake pads to reduce noise. Also, make sure your brake pads are equipped with anti squeal shims on the back of the pad. Lastly, I will point out that the f sport is equipped with high-performance brakes, so some brake squeal is normal. There is a bulletin to change the rotors from a two-piece rotor to a one-piece rotor to reduce noise. However, this reduces brake performance.

      @etet4736 I never tried those rotors. But if you are re- using the pads clean everything well, check that brake shim, and lightly sand down the brake lining evenly if you are reusing.

  • @brandonwiley6530
    @brandonwiley6530 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I have a 21S 350 F sport dynamic handling, and my rear pads are at 3mm and my front are at 6, but both rotors are warped and below 28 mm, I’m wondering why my rear pads are wearing faster. Nobody can answer that question, my car only has 26,000 miles, I do a mix of highway and city driving.

    • @harborareatech310
      @harborareatech310  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's hard to say without checking ourlt vehicle. But if you're not doing burnouts, the rear brakes normally tend to last longer than the front brakes. If the rotors ate warped, it's possible that there is an abnormal braking pattern occuring. If you are doing regular braking and the rear pads are worn out , i would get the calipers/other related components inspected
