  • In this video Brett talks you through the repair of a very common issue with the SST Transmission in Lancer Ralliart and Evo X models. In these models one of the magnets used to detect the shift fork position breaks off from its mount, resulting in a range of fault codes, as well as gears not shifting.

    Is the gear shifting issue usually a loss of gear or dose the magnet cause the transmission to stutter and then shift gears. Our 2009 Ralliart will shift through all grears but pulses really bad from first to second. The dealership says we need a new valve body because they pulled a P1871 code.

      It’s a little late but I ran into this issue as well. Yes you do have to reteach the sst. You can find someone with a mut2 or get a tactrix cable. Tactrix is the easier route just due to accessibility. Also a lot cheaper, just requires a lot more time and potential tweaking to get it to properly set. If you haven’t started yet, best of luck to you, just take your time and you’ll have it up and running perfectly. It’s worth being as gentle and anal as possible. Record everything, rewind your steps, and take your time and you’ll get it

    • @bens7790
      @bens7790 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear that Harald, here is what I have been told from one source: "The code could possibly be for the mechatronic but is typically for the sensor (damper speed sensor). A bad damper is common too and may not be the whole problem but part of it." Been driving it with the code about once a week just until I can get it fixed.

      still wrking on that process, some of the parts possibly associated with this code are not widely manufactured for replacement so some suggest replacing the entire gearbox but there are a few select shops that may have a way to repair it, IDK if MRT is one of them or not.
