The external plug on my mechatron unit is a bit scraped off, would that be a problem? Can I switch out the external plug for another one?

This is also called the getrag 6dct470. Could you rebuild and offer the upgrades (stainless plugs, magnets, uprated clutch etc.) on its cousin transmission, a 6dct450 as fitted on Ford models? Thanks

If that spring was made to have a little bit more tension would this in turn create more line pressure hence give a greater clamping force on the clutch packs?

we have not tested that as its not needed, clutch pressure is controlled via the trans ECU
if teh box is repaired ok and tuned ok, the clutches are ok

Thats how basic hydraulic valves works. Tighter springs= more resistance in hydraulic flow= more pressure.
However if its an ecu solenoid controlling the pressure, than it might be a different type of valve. I was taught in french so i cant give you the proper english names.
It can be a simple relief valve that absorbs hydraulic SHOCKS while your ecu operates the MAIN RELIEF VALVE giving the running pressure.
