@@UrbanOpsOffRoad I can’t get one of mine to go in all the way. I have Siberian Polly bushings. I even used a floor jack and my front bumper. Just don’t want to go lol.
Yup! It does work. Just make sure you spray pb blaster or wd40 and heat it up so it becomes a smooth process. Obviously do this only on non rust compromised lower control arms.
@@UrbanOpsOffRoad wast extreamly corroded but just enough where it didn't allow it to break freely once the initial break happened it pushed out easily but it was to late
It’s simple, just take your time to soak them with pb blaster and make sure your lca it’s not compromised by rust. Once removed you’ll need a press to get the new ones in. I went for whiteline bushings 🤙🏻
Obviously you only do this on sound and rust free LCA. It is very safe if you are considering risk management and proper PPE. I USA and H frame 20 ton press to drive the Whiteline bushings in.
What: removal of old LCA bushings. How: as you can tell by applying heat and pressure using the OEM jack that comes with the Tacoma. Why: to install new Whiteline bushings that provide full range of movement of the front suspension. Cheers my dude 🤙🏻
That’s smoke is the worst! I actually had to drill out and remove the rubber to use the sleeves as pressing tool for the Whiteline bushings. Thanks for the follow dude! Such a honor!
How long did you heat up the bushings for I plan on trying this tomorrow since I need to replace my LCA bushings as well and they didn’t budge with a bushing press
About a minute or so, first give it a good coat of pb blaster and then put a little bit of pressure and then start the heating process and then crank that Jack 🤙🏻
@@UrbanOpsOffRoad Watch the lubrication comparison video by Project Farm, PB BLaster actually sucks at doing what it's supposed to do. Great video, fixing to do my 95 FJ80 Landcruiser bushings so this is helpful.
@@UrbanOpsOffRoad Shoulda written that differently, PB blaster works, but there are equivalent products that work a LOT better in a similar price range. Keep up the good work.
Brilliant, a comment with no facts to back up the statement. lol I’m on the west coast, no rust issues around here, plenty of heat and lubrication was used. Plus it’s a slow process. Slapped some whitelines and my LCA tabs are gusseted and guess what no alignment issues. Cheers buddy 🤙🏻
Percect sound track for bushing removal lol
Big brains move I love these bottle jacks so useful.
Hell yeah multipurpose tool by Toyota for sure!
Now the hard part. Putting the new ones in
If there’s will there’s a way 🤣

Thats what i came for... an idea for a situation where the press wont work and you do t have the bushing tools. Very clever!

Fkn geniu, been struggling the last couple of days to push some bushings out and didn't think of doing this omw to buy a bottle jack lol
Send it brother! Make sure you apply a bunch of heat and obviously don’t do this with extremely corroded parts.
@UrbanOpsOffRoad and sadly I bent my control arm😂😂 time to order new ones and re modify them. All cus I wanted polly ubushings

Now to the ball joint
Good idea but I wish you would have explained what, how, and why you did it this way and other tips

Old bushings make the vehicle feel sloppy
Now how to install new one back
Press, jack with the right size cups or manually depending on the style of the bushing being used.
Nice clean removal!
I had to save the inner sleeves though so much more fire and thick black smoke was involved. Worst. Job. Ever.

Where can i find that attachment you have on the bottle jack?
Which attachment?
👑
Does not the heat weaken the integrity of the bushing hole?
Nope all good. Only do this on rust free LCA’s
What is that tool called? Looking to rent one for my control arm bushing replacements
Not a tool, it’s the Toyota factory jack and a blow torch from Walmart. The penetrant it’s on blaster. To set the new bushing you will need a press.
Cool..
DIY all day 🤙🏻
It’s quite clever mate!
Works wonders if you’re LCA are not rotten away
How to spread and bend your lower control arm.
Not the case my dude. That would happen if you shit’s all rusty 😂
