    For the first time I visited someone who had a dozen donuts and everyone was eating them! Cream puffs! OMG. Did Not even care. I had no desire for sugar! I am so proud of me!! I grew up as a dessert first girl. Carnivoreish for 8 months. Happy. Thank you both.

    Thank you Judy and Dr. Berry, I've change my eating and continue to get educated about food, I'm Ketovore for 11 months down 40 lbs off 2 blood pressure meds but I'm really happy that I've been able to help my mother change her way of eating and she's lost weight and here Dr. is pleased with her "numbers" and took her off Metformin and her digestive issues have disappeared.

    I've posted this comment before but I can't say it enough. Judy Cho and Dr. Berry among others in the keto/carnivore community, have done more for my health and well being than any treatment I could have ever received from my health care provider, hands down! And just want to thank them for their efforts in spreading the word that there's a better way to achieve optimal health! Thank you, thank you so much! I just wish there was a way you both could reach through the screen and sign my copies of both your books!

    28:15 I have easy access to a large amount of fresh beef liver which influenced me to eat about half pound per day for months. BIG MISTAKE (likely vitamin overdose). Problems were not immediate. I was fine the next day, the next week, even the next month, so it was not obvious to associate the problem. I'm now eating 1 ounce per day or about half pound per week and doing great.

      @@Anita-silver I don’t really monitor my macros, I did for three days and realized that my protein and my fats were running neck and neck, therefore I needed to bump up the fat and lessen the proteins in order to get my glucose down. It had never been high in my entire life until I ate too much protein. I cannot recall the glucose number offhand without pulling up my blood work however I do know it was slightly over the “norm” I have just started increasing my fat as of yesterday so looking forward to my next set of bloodwork

    I came across Dr Berry about 7 weeks ago. Since then I've lost 31 pounds, greatly reduced the inflammation in my joints, and have cut my BP medication in half. (My pcp says in another 2 weeks we'll cut it in half again if I continue to do well. She's on board with this.) I've also stopped eating all sugar, grain, and have reduced my carbs to 20 grams a day (or less!). I'm now experimenting with carnivore one or two days a week. And of course, I intermittent fast every day. Most importantly, I have a much healthier relationship with food than I did 2 months ago.
    Did Dr Berry do this for me? Hell no, I did it.
    However, Dr Berry taught me how to do it, and why I should do it. He also gave me the confidence to know I can do it.

    If a kids is that picky then that's just a symptom of sensory issues from a damaged gut-brain axis. That will correct itself through time. You just have to be consistent. Eventually as their gut heals so will the sensory issues.

    Dr. Berry mentioned moderate meat several times vs higher meat. How many grams is considered moderate?

    • @John-Nada
      @John-Nada 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. Berg & DeLauer mentioned 90 to 100 grams daily as adequate for themselves. One quarter pound hamburger patty has about 28 grams of protein, so that's like 3.5 hamburger patties which seems like a lot of meat!

    • @rmguest
      @rmguest 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Anita-silver 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@John-Nada I live a quite sedentary life for now due to medical conditions so I'm thinking that makes a difference. @@Anita-silver That's about two eggs (2 x 6 grams of protein), two quarter pound hamburger patties (2 x 28 grams of protein), and one hundred gram tin of herring (17 grams of protein), 85 grams protein total. That's a lot of food.

    Is that cookie (cake, sugar, pizza,etc.) worth the amputation from diabetes? Or is that yoyo dieting worth being put on a Liver Transplant waiting list because of Fatty Liver? Dr. Berry said basically the same thing about cornbread.
    This puts the brakes on my cheatin' ways! I got serious after I heard Dr. Berry say that.

    A 100g serving of beef doesn't have enough vitamins and minerals to reach all the RDA's, but personally and my guess for others eating just beef (muscle meat) 2-4 lbs a day is normal. The vitamin and mineral RDA's you reach per day changes significantly at 3 or 4 lbs of beef. Depending on the cut of beef and the database you use: Almost all your B1, magnesium, vitamin d3, . All of your k2, choline, iron, copper, phosphorus, selenium, zinc, b vitamins. Low to lower: Calcium, vitamin a, folate, maybe biotin and manganese. Then if your including a quality salt like Himalayan or Redmond and drinking mineral water. Not to mention the nutrients created by the body and the colon. The deficiency lessen even more.
    In the context of eating a 3-4lbs of beef a day the nutrients aren't that low just eating beef muscle meat, possibly why people can thrive on that diet. Obviously things like copper to zinc ratio and vitamin a, etc. are concerning but like you say who know how many of these nutrients are needed in the context of a low carb diet or a diet with no plant anti-nutrients.

    I hope that Dr. Berry's thinking has evolved to the point where veg isn't part of the species appropriate diet. While it's good that we can use it in survival circumstances to not starve to death. IMHO, they shouldn't be eaten if it's not such a circumstance. They simply don't bring enough positives to the table to warrant the negatives that they bring.

My hormones are a mess and it just seems like the last resort here is under-eating. I have force myself to eat enough.
