      -Harold, don't worry brother we all start somewhere! The 2018 black Sti is about to go stage 1 plus! I wouldn't say its super reliable, but it should get you by until you get an Aos and a pro tune! I wouldn't recommend using it forever as a daily. :)

      So cobb stage 1 tune as daily isn’t recommended for a long term daily ?

    I have stage 2 ots tune from phat botti on my 21 wrx bc after I installed down pipe I realized Cobb took down there ots tunes over stage 1+. I plan on getting intercooler charge pipe and boost controller and getting a pro tune with reliability mods and staying there because it’s my daily but I can’t wait to get it tuned right ots and e tunes are sus Especially for me bc I had no experience working on cars and used TH-cam for everything, second I hit 1000 miles on it I went stage 1+🫢

    i’m looking at sti’s rn i found one for 28k with 28k miles and he has a 1+ tune with the sf intake should i get if im daily driving it? i probably wouldn’t get higher stage he said its at 365hp which would be plenty for me coming from a 150hp car lmao

      @@christangherlini7364 na but i did test drive a regular wrx a while back and the owner said it was 320 hp i think and that thing moved over double my hp on my car and it felt so much more i really wish i bought it but did not want to use money right now/6 months ago

    Is this the Cobb next gen stage 1?

  • @jrodz808
    @jrodz808 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So you have to have the tune if you are running just the SF intake?

      Anything with air and fuel you need a tune for, a fuel pump and turbo inlet or aftermarket top mount you can get away with, but intake, fmic, downpipe, injectors, fuel pressure regulator etc you need a tune for.

    Looking at a 2021 wrx STI should I go for it heard good an bad things “ as long as u do it’s maintenance I’ll be good”

    • @thesubiefam
      @thesubiefam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as the previous owner took care of it and stay on top of oil changes and don’t hit positive boost until 3k rpm’s and you’ll be good

    • @bronsondempsey7812

      Go for it you still will have plenty of powertrain warranty left on that

      @@thesubiefam that’s one thing I do like about a stage 1 tune, since it changes the throttle response, it doesn’t get into boost so easy. Stock mapping puts you into boost with very little throttle input. While fun and makes the car feel faster, not always a good for the car.

      Luis, I have a 21 STI. Love the car but here’s the thing, if you are buying used, make sure to take time and go over it. A lot of used STis I drove, felt like shit. Especially the clutch release. I could they they were being hammered on. Just do your research, know what to look for and go over the car real good. The one thing I’ve noticed with these cars, you have to stay on top of them and maintain them. They are finicky to a degree.
