I bought my 05 STI in July and it had rusty subframes and hubs etc. the body was spotless but I bought all new subframes and all brackets for trailing arms etc etc etc and then I 2 part epoxy primed the underbody and then used herculiner pro bedliner and undercoated the whole car so I could keep it that way. If you plan on spending a lot of money on this car I’d suggest doing the same. You can grind down that rust and do the same thing I did. Or you can get por15 and paint over the rust then use herculiner over the top of that. The herculiner is crazy how much adhesion it has and how tough it is. No rocks or anything will get through or chip it. I’ve used a lot of bed liners in my time and nothing is even close to as good. And it works wonders for undercoating. Do the full wheel wells as well. If you take off the subframes and don’t want to spend money on new ones you can just sand and repaint those or powder coat them. I’m going to do that to my old ones and then sell them. My car is obsidian black pearl as well. Got a grimmspeed jb400 and e85 fuel system I’m going to be putting in soon. Just finishing up the 93 tune now.

But my man there is something about a Blob eye, Hawkeye, Stinkeye (currently own) and the VA models, the curves, the sound and the simplicity of these models are unrivaled. No questions asked I would have a solid collection.

how does one get that perfect whistle just while idling on a gas vehicle? I want my Fusion with the ST Turbo to sound like this and it unfortunately doesn't.

Im currently rebuilding the engine in my '04 Forester XT because it spun a rod bearing. I ordered a brand new Stage 1 Shortblock (oem STI rod, oem STI crankshaft, and JE Forged pistons), and I bought a GrimmSpeed BB500 Turbo and Tomei equal length header and up-pipe. The car already had a full turbo-back Invidia 3" catless exhaust, gutted TGVs, Perrin intake tube, STI top mount intercooler, and a 3 port boost controller. I'm hoping to turn it up to 400whp after break-in, but I'll need new injectors and a fuel pump for that still. I might keep it tuned closer to 350whp though because its an automatic (4EAT transmission) and the limit of those seem to be around 350whp... either way though, its gonna be one fast wagon 😂
