Hi there! I hope you are enjoying your WRX as much as I am, the tune is for strictly for performance/if you plan on modding your car and to get rid of the rev hang to allow for a smoother driving experience. However, if you are looking to make your car more reliable and healthy, I recommend to keep it generally stock and stay up with maintenance. there is also mods out there that help with making the engine run healthier such as an AOS! Hey man, could you help me? Is the clutch very hard to operate on this WRX? I was thinking about getting one but I hear a lot of people complaining about a hard clutch. . Thank you!
Hey, I’ll try my best to help! This is first manual car so I don’t have any experience with others to compare but for me, once you get used to going from 1st to 2nd gear it’s not bad. I believe it is harder than most cars to drive and can be hard to drive smooth. I still sometimes mess up to this day. Sometimes when you’re driving in first or second the car starts rocking. Shifting from first to second also has that rev hang which makes it harder to time smoothly. After 2nd gear, it shifts very nicely. There are mods to help fix these problems such as the stage 1 tune, pitch stop mount, and etc that I’m still learning about. My recommendation is to try to test drive one yourself before buying it, bc I wouldn’t want to scare you away if you are really interested in the WRX! I still love this car and enjoy it every day, hope this helps 🤝🏼
Hi Antonio, I’ve been driving mine for almost 2 years now going to college and I would say it’s a pretty good daily driver and I’m happy with the purchase. For the price I think it’s a good mix of practical and fun driving. I would say one of my favorite things about my car is the large community behind Subarus so there’s lots of aftermarket support and people with experience owning them to help you. Hope this helps!
Hi, from the research I’ve seen, the reason I went with 91 tune while pumping “93” gas is bc most gas stations typically have a lower octane than it says on the label. Also the 93 is a more aggressive tune and considering I’m not on a pro tune, I wanted a more tame tune. That being said, I typically pump gas at Shell which is what I’ve been hearing is a good place to get 93 so I’m sure I could get away with 93 tune. In short since I’m still learning, I just wanted to be on the safe side. I highly recommend looking into it yourself to see what best works for you tho!
@when_media Thanks. I'm right there with you. 93 from the shell here in Missouri. Getting the Access port in a day and I'm going down the same path as you. Thanks for the video and the reply 🤙
i was curious also...because i know even a month ago 93oct is not that low here in San Antonio area...I just filled up again at 4.27/gal...we're starting to see old Cali prices...
Yeah I had forgot to mention in the video that they aren’t as ideal but I appreciate the recommendation of companies for etunes, wasn’t sure a good place to get them so thank you, will look into it!
Yup, on any platform this is a good point to make... OTS is 'off the shelf' and simply a generic tune for 'typical bolt ons'...but it is not the 'best' tune for your specific car. I have a 2016 Focus ST and its the same concept...personal tunes allow remote tuners to see your data logs and dial your afr's, boost, timing/spark, etc and anything else that needs specific calibration, so its perfect for your car. You gain noticeable power too and get better, crisper shifts from a better tuned throttle response. Plus you have a connection if you ever notice odd misfires or blips in your acceleration especially when going WOT.... your tuner can simply take a look at your data logs and its almost always free with the original tune as long as you're not adding big upgrades like turbos and aux fuel or something.
@@dham99 For sure, this is well said. The purpose of the video was to share my experience for those who are curious but I did fail to mention that it’s not the best option. Definitely should go pro tune if given the chance!
Stage 1 is boring, Cobb version is probably the worst offering. Stage 2 is a improvement but FBO protune or go e85 or water meth for the real experience
I know there is a universal thing where people say they like to turn off their AC when they are about to race but idk if it has any truth 😂 From my personal experience, there has been times where I notice the AC gets louder when I step on it. Nowadays I like to turn it off when I’m taking it serious, just to make sure, and just roll the windows down… every HP matters! 😂
@@kosokumediaYeah, the ac does draw power lol. Look at your boost with it on, and with it off. Plus for me, I have to drive differently when the ac is on, vs off. It’s smoother when the ac is off, vs on
Your a/c doesnt disable when you go WOT? On the Focus St platform it does and I was surprised to find out when for the first few years I was disabling it when I'd run someone lol

Holy shit that gas station is close to my house too 😂
Nice!!! It’s very convenient
wanna have lunch control at like 5500rpm and higher not to bug and slip the clutch better
Definitely going to work on slipping the clutch better and timing it right, I’ll have to see which RPMs work for me thank you man! 🫡
How are you liking the experience what can you say are your favorite things about your car? Looking to buy one in the Future.
Launch control at 3200 and turn off fully the traction control
Thank you, I’m going to turn it off next time and also try different numbers!
Be easy in 1st and 2nd shit into 1st, let off gas, and hit it ,it will build boost
Appreciate the advice, I’ll definitely keep that in mind 🙏🏼
Why a 91 tune when youre pumping 93?
@@gregutz4284 Of course, looking to help anyway I can! Wishing you the best up there in Missouri! The AP is definitely a game changer 🤝🏼🫡
How the hell do you have CarPlay
came with the car at dealership, my phone has to be plugged in via wire though
Where at in Texas are you?
i was curious also...because i know even a month ago 93oct is not that low here in San Antonio area...I just filled up again at 4.27/gal...we're starting to see old Cali prices...
I’m from the DFW area!
How do u have CarPlay ?
It came with the car when I bought it!
Be careful running those OTS tunes. Theyre not ideal and you can get an easily get a really good etune from ron watson or mikey botti
Go get a pro tune take the redline to 7k
I didn’t know we could do that, I’ll look into it thank you!
What kinda pb gun you got
I just got a budget HK Army Sabre one since I’m new to it! I know it can get crazy with the price ranges haha
@@kosokumediasweet yeah I’ve been playing for so long I’m rocking a cs3 right now but everyone starts somewhere.. keep ballin.
@@Po7ent yessir! Same to you
Another nguyen guy. Thats like a smith or jose
@@srsg-wy8tr it’s a common Vietnamese last name!
getting gas, you go to gas stations? they are close to your house? wow how interesting
Stage 1 is boring, Cobb version is probably the worst offering. Stage 2 is a improvement but FBO protune or go e85 or water meth for the real experience
Please touch the 93 with your actual hands as that's what it's meant for we aren't animals in barns
Do you ever feel the car hold back when the AC is on.
It’s smoother when the ac is off, vs on
@@Smile-qp2ip Agreed!
Your a/c doesnt disable when you go WOT? On the Focus St platform it does and I was surprised to find out when for the first few years I was disabling it when I'd run someone lol
@@dham99 I don’t believe my AC turns off, I’ve noticed it seem to get louder
Stage 1? Its boring thats what it is smfh
