I recently got a 36" griddle and I love it. Whilst searching for "griddle videos", I found your channel and I'm locked in. I, too, appreciate your humble attitude and the step-by-step instructions. You bring it down to a level we can all understand. B T W, very nice camera work.
Im 23 really just got into actually making good meals its fun and relaxing, just stumbled on your channel, awesome video, making my first philly cheese this weekend. Stoked!
well done, sir.....As a life long philly area resident, I applaud you. Some people say you need to do it this way or that way....the real answer is whatever way makes you happy. Out of all the things that I cook on my own blackstone, cheesesteaks are the most fun, and what seems to turn out the best. Keep up the awesome work, and I really enjoy your channel.
Nice job! This was a great video to watch. The challenge with Philly Cheesesteak is there is no actual definitive way to make. Every version is someone's take on it. And God Bless everyone who wants to create their version! The one thing I love about your videos is your modest and humble approach. I spent a lot of years in Chicago and you represent everything good about the people from the Windy CIty. Thanks for an interesting video.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Delaney. Means the words to me. I’m just out here trying to be me and only me. It’s fun and it’s my passion to cook. Cheers 🍻
regardless on how you did this, your humbleness and respect you pay to the cheesesteak was a nice touch. it shows your openness and willingness to learn and improve.
@@EverydayBBQ New to your channel and bro forget the hecklers do you. If I want to see a Philly steak ill go watch a channel that makes them. I like seeing different ways of cooking a cheese steak. That looks delicious and I like your channel. Subbed!
I get so scared every time I make Philly Cheese Steaks cause I soon as I post it, I get all the Philly Cheese Steak gurus commenting on my channel and telling me how “I’m doing this wrong, I’m doing that wrong”... makes me want to just add fried rice to a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich but I don’t want to be the reason for WW III. 😂😂😂
Caught you Everyday BBQ!!!! Its called a cheesesteak, but really a steak when getting it in Philly... the word sandwich is not needed because it is already implied. Its like saying fried french fries (look closely at some Chinese takeout menus)... lol They aren't called subs or heros either. Straight no no! In the hood we order like this. - lemme get a cheesesteak - salt, pepper, ketchup and fried onions. It is implied in the hood (West, SouthWest etc.) that you are referring to American cheese unless you specify. In South Philly we order like this - "Whiz wit" means Cheez Whiz with fried onions or if you like American or provolone you can say "prov or American without" - - so without fried onions. True South Philly steaks will not be made with ketchup, mayo, mustard or even sweets or hots - you put those on yourself.
Great job! Guess what I’m cooking tomorrow night on my Blackstone? Truly inspiring. I love the variety of meals that are easy to prepare/cook on the griddle. Thanks for posting. 😎
Put the onions in a container with a lid and salt them the day before to weep moisture out then strain off liquid . It's how the old school diners did it . Gooooood !
Awesome job,I love watching your videos! I don't understand people that say anything negative about another ones hobby..if you don't like it then hey don't watch or comment..that simple, again awesome job and huge thumbs up!
WOW! We just bought a 28" Blackstone. Seasoned it up today. I think this and the Windy city stir fry will be the first on the menu. I may try with just onions, but I can see green peppers and mushrooms as well . Cheese steak crowd may poo poo it, but I say Grill what you like!!
Hi, you made the perfect Philly cheese sandwich even though you haven't done it before you don't need to say sorry about hearing your voice I heard clearly an amazing voice and understandable this video is extremely helpful for everyone thanks.
Looked good. Couple of hints. Used chopped onions, and put the roll on the steak right after you put the cheese on and it will melt. As for the mushrooms and peppers, feel free to jazz it up with what you like. You're just adding to the cheese steak as long as you follow the basics. PS and I love that you worry about what us Philly nuts may say about you making the cheese steak properly.
Thanks, Brad! For the most part I have gotten very positive feedback from this video. I feel good about that knowing that I must’ve done a fairly good job. Mostly, any criticism or suggestions I have gotten have been constructive just like yours. I got this pretty close but after reading through some comments I do see some valid things I can change to bring it a little closer to authentic next time around. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Cheers!
just got my Blackstone Griddle today early Fathers day gift from my wife and I can't wait to make these bad boys! Great video, I just sub to your channel
Thanks, Arthur! Cheesesteaks are a very touchy recipe and I wanted to try to keep it as close to traditional as possible. I think I really I nailed it here although I’m sure it wasn’t perfect in everyone’s eyes. Very soon I will be redoing this and adding my peppers and mushrooms to the mix. Thank you sincerely for watching and commenting!
There is a restaurant called Phillys Steak and Lemonade on State Street just West of Torrence Avenue in Dalton, IL They have a sandwich called the vip it has Steak chicken and hamburger with onions, mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes and mozzerella cheese. Very good you eat one you'll be making that next on the Blackstone. I have everything to make it, I'll be doing that on my Blackstone soon.
Great job on the philly cheese steak. I make stuff all the time that people always have different versions of, but everybody has their own take. I like putting my own spin on things, so don't sweat it!
Jus' Piddlin BBQ well so far no haters lol. So, either I’m close on this or people are accepting my apologies in advance lol. Thanks for watching and commenting buddy!!
The cheesesteaks definitely cause a severe case of drooling and everything really does look so delicious! Lucky 🍀 You to be gifted with that “Ass-Kickin’” metal logo! It’s quite wonderful (kudos to the artist) and it will seriously add a level of prestige and classiness to all your videos’ background!s How very blessed you are to have such a generous fan, who’s so talented!!!
Shoutout from Philly! First off congrats on the World Series win (never too late for one of those). Secondly, although not the bread I'd use, I appreciate you using quality meat and NOT chopping it to bits. In Philly where I'm from, we don't chop. Kudos on the provolone and the shoutout. Love the channel and am definitely considering trading up from my BBQ grill.
Love that logo, David did a great job. Your Cheesesteak looked delicious to me. The ones that complain about foods not being authentic, only eat it when someone else cooks it, from a restaurant. They're clueless how to make it themselves. Thanks for sharing😃
I clicked on ALL the links! Great video. You are the 1st YTber that I have seen be honest about that. Clicked, liked, and subscribed! Best wishes and the logo looks great!
Thanks, James! Most of my links are affiliate links so yes I sincerely appreciate that brother. My channel is dedicated to my kids future so all funds above and beyond what I reinvest go to their savings. Thanks so much for all the support 🙏🙏
I appreciate the effort great video. I am from Philadelphia and I make cheese steaks every day on my hot dog cart. I have a 36 inch griddle. Your cheese steak was not bad it's not the way I make mine at all but it was a good demonstration.
Solid first try,I'd give it a C+ Meats a bit too thick and you need some whiz! But the sharp prov from the italian market in Philly is amazing! Also put the roll over the meat while cheese is melting and the roll warms up nice!
For a normal backyard bbq guy, I think I did pretty damn good. This was the thinnest my butcher could slice and I did plenty of homework before I did the video. It’s not perfect and it’s not Pat’s or Gino’s but for me this is still the best thing I’ve made on my Griddle. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻
Good job with the provolone....Cheez Wiz wasn't even invented until almost 20 years after the cheese steak...it's basically a cost saving measure for street vendors that caught on. Real cheese steaks used provo or American cheese. Plenty of places will add green peppers / mushrooms and a stripe of red sauce (usually called a pizza steak). Rib eye is also a very popular cut but some use sirloin. It should be thin-sliced of course and the cheese gets incorporated throughout ...but without a slicer that's a tough one. Looks great.
At 12:12am April 13 Sunday morning ! I’m up watching your video ! Trying to survive lol my three day fasting up at 2am I can’t want to go make some eggs & potatoes ! Shrimp asparagus oh Jesus ! I need to buy one of these things
Really enjoy your videos and hard work one thing I would like to hear is where your knobs are at on the blackstone like how hot the areas are great job man keep it up and also the live chats
Thanks so much for the kind words! I almost always run the Griddle on medium-high except for the far right burner which is either off or low. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Well sir, that made my mouth water and made my mind up. I gotta do this. Fun to cook and fun to eat! I've been wanting to do the griddle thing for awhile but, I felt like it was just another gimmicky way to cook. Maybe you don't know what I mean but, there a so many ways to cook and so many different devices to cook on. I honestly wonder if I will use my gas grill after I buy a griddle. Having said that, after watching your cooking videos and sitting here with my stomach growling and mouth watering, I guess I'm gonna take the plunge and buy a griddle. Thanks and keep making those terrific videos!
Lol thanks, Robert! The Blackstone is definitely legit! I’ve got an Amazon affiliate link for it in the description BUT I hear you can get screamin deals on them at Walmart sometimes. You may wanna check there first. Thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers 🍻
I always add some green peppers, lots of green jalepenos mix up the cheese American for the melt and some edam for mild flavour. Tastd should be the steak really i think. Ooh have some and pass it. That is a great lookin PCS Mike. Gotta luv the Blackstone Nice job. You got some snow. Good thing you had some radiating heat coming off that burner.

found you through the tango joe collaboration with you. started the breakfast video and then you mentioned philly cheesesteaks and i automatically went there. excellent video. just subbed. gonna go finish your breakfast collab. now.
That looked awesome. Just discovered you today, what a great first video to be introduced to your channel! And....can't wait for my next Philly cheesesteak :)
Great video man. I recently got a Steelmade USA flat top to cover my stovetop and I've been looking for videos on different things to cook. Love your style. Liked and subscribed!
Steak was cooked perfectly! One question does your griddle stay outside year round exposed to the elements? If so how do you prevent mold or rust from the moisture? Thanks new fellow griddle owner 😁
Thanks very much 🙏. My griddle stays outside on my porch which is screened in and had a roof. I also have a hard Griddle cover and a Blackstone cover. If you keep it well seasoned, it usually holds up fine.
New subscriber from right here in Springfield Illinois! That Philly look amazing brother! Love your channel and I am definitely going to have to get me a Black Stone Griddle! Thanks for the great vid and Go Cubs!!!
Hi Mike, just set up and seasoned my blackstone 36 and for the initial meal I was hoping to make chicken phillys, your channel is awesome and has good detail, just wanted to ask, if I want CHICKEN PHILLYS can I just follow your instructions here or do I need to change something up because it’s chicken vs steak? Thank you!
Great cheese steak! Don’t let anyone tell you there is a wrong way to make a philly cheese steak the secret is to make it the way you want it lol keep the videos coming.
The medallion is killer. I'm really diggin' your channel. The philly cheesesteak,in my opinion, is the best. I'm a wiz guy myself but, provolone and white American rocks too. Looks killer

These cheesesteaks looks so incredible ! I always think of mushrooms abs green pepper goes with cheesesteak too :)
Me too.. next time I will. This time I’m trying not to get shelled from “experts” lol.
Mel's Simple Meals Right Mel... But this was 1 Meaty Philly Cheese Steak "OMG"... I Couldn't take My eyes away from my phone😂
Yeah needs those peppers...but good
Good job with the provolone....Cheez Wiz wasn't even invented until almost 20 years after the cheese steak...it's basically a cost saving measure for street vendors that caught on.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! As you can see I did my homework and made a valiant effort here lol. Cheers 🍻
Just watched this for the first time. Thought I did before. Now I know I need to get one of those Blackstones
Thanks, William! This is still my favorite cook on the Blackstone so far. Gotta make these again 😋
Now that's a big philly cheesesteak sandwich, YUM!!!!
Thanks, Kenny! It is still my favorite recipe so far.

Thanks, Crunch 🙏. I appreciate it very much.

Me and my daughter loves those. I've made them several times. In Philly there are two restaurants across the street from each other...Pat's and Geno's. One swears by cheese wiz and the other provolone. Funny! Your's looked great.
You can't beat that sandwich!
I’m in total agreement LOL. Thanks for checking it out!
Looks absolutely fantastic!!! Great Job!

Great video man. I recently got a Steelmade USA flat top to cover my stovetop and I've been looking for videos on different things to cook. Love your style. Liked and subscribed!
Thank you very much for watching and supporting me, Jason! Welcome to my journey.

Thank you!
I’d stick with this but if it were me! They should be great! Thanks for the nice comments, Omar!

Thanks for watching, Rusty! I appreciate the advice also. I just wanted to be respectful. It’s a touchy food lol.
The medallion is killer. I'm really diggin' your channel. The philly cheesesteak,in my opinion, is the best. I'm a wiz guy myself but, provolone and white American rocks too. Looks killer
