Thank you for the inspiration, you made it look doable... also hearing baby talking sounds in the background was a real treat 💜 I bet he's really forming words now 😃
Thank you for your time making these videos, my wife followed these and within one week she has finished our sofa and love seat, she purchased all the material for $25, cost was $1 per yard
dwdstring Wow! I somehow missed seeing this comment! Your wife must be one savvy shopper. She blew my costs out of the water haha! I'd love to see the finished sofa if you'd like to share a photo on my facebook page :-) facebook.com/ModernHomemakers
LOVE the fabric you chose and the final sofa! Just one thing for next time (because I WILL come back)--could you use better lighting when making the videos? Thanks!!
Thanks! I've been determined to have a nice house no matter how small our paycheck is :-) Is just got some adorable yellow fuzzy pillows for it on clearance from ROSS, yay! I was going to make them but they were cheaper than my fabric would have been!
I just had to expand my sons play area into the living-room, so in a couple of years after he's spilled every imaginable substance on my couch I might get to redo it to haha!
Ella, It' been awhile since I did this and I'm feeling to lazy to go look it up. I'm pretty sure that the bottom section cost me $60 and that by the time I was totally done I'd spent upwards of $200. Sorry not to be more specific. You have to be careful when buying upholstery fabric, it can be pricey. Make sure to look for a sale!
I wish I'd kept better track of the fabric purchases! I ended up going back multiple times. I think I bought 7 yards the first time, so it was at least twice that. Know that for the biggest sections you'll want to measure and make sure you have long enough pieces :-)
Oh my gosh thank you so much for sharing this! I've been wanting to put a cover on my couch but didn't know how. How much fabric did you need for this? Just so I can have an idea for mine. Thank you!
wow so many people can learn from you this looks really great OMGOODNESS ur like my upholster mentor ill never give you up lol where did u get the fabric from? How much or how many rolls of fabric did you buy including price? where can i get the needles you used and how much ? including the pins i have a crappy high priced craft store and i need something better so ill take my chances on buying where your purchased your from
Thanks! I don’t know exactly how many yds I used, I’ll estimate 10. I went back a couple times because I didn’t know how much I would need. Whatever you do make sure to write down all the information on the roll they might be able to order more if you need it. I got it from Hobby Lobby & even though I eventually bought everything they had I went back the other day & there was a brand new roll of the same fabric. If you go online to H.L. website you can print a coupon that saved me A LOT of $
great videos hope i can do the same with my couch i have a victorian its cream color and i too have kids who have spilled multiple things on it . my problem is how to get around the flat button back . any ideas ?
I haven't done any furniture with buttons yet, but I seem to remember there being a guy on youtube who was showing the buttons. I don't think it was a full demonstration because I think he was selling a dvd. Could you paste a picture of your couch on my facebook so I can see exactly what it looks like? facebook dot com /ModernHomemakers

That sounds fun! I've been considering adding a small love seat so I'm holding out until I choose what fabric I want to do there!
My motto in everything I do in life is " take your time and do it right the first time" this turned out to be simply gorgeous. Thanks for the video
Thank you for the inspiration, you made it look doable... also hearing baby talking sounds in the background was a real treat 💜 I bet he's really forming words now 😃
Thank you! My recliner is falling apart so, fingers crossed that should be a video as soon as I can afford the fabric.

What a great job! The finished product looks fantastic! :)
Ahhh, thanks! I'm considering trying my hand at a slip cover for a recliner next because it's looking super sad!
Definitely will do! I normally film in the basement because that's where I have the good lights set up, but I didn't want to move the heavy sofa :-(
LOVE the fabric you chose and the final sofa! Just one thing for next time (because I WILL come back)--could you use better lighting when making the videos? Thanks!!
Thanks! I find myself being very protective around it, everyone keeps trying to sneak food onto it and I don't want it ruined :-)
OMG I absolutely loved the end result, amazing job...definitely thinking of doing this for my torn up pleather sofa...thank u!!
Good luck! It's definitely cheaper than the alternative :-)

I got it from Hobby Lobby and last time I checked they still have it.
I just had to expand my sons play area into the living-room, so in a couple of years after he's spilled every imaginable substance on my couch I might get to redo it to haha!

Thanks, I'm sorry they're so long :-) I swear I edited them down as short as I could haha!
Great Job....love the fabric. How long did it take to do the whole couch?
the pattern on your fabric would look great with some bright colored pillows - like red or electric blue :)
Thank you! I'm so glad you could understand even with the language barrier :-)
Hello, Great job! I have learned a lot from your videos. How many yards of fabric did you use? Thanks
Wonderful idea... I just wonder where did u buy that fabric upholstery? . Thank u
Ahhh so flattering thank you! Thank goodness for youtube i don't have to wait for that to happen :-)
You should be on HGTV! I would love a show with someone like you to teach forgotten homemaking skills. You are so likable & pretty!

Oh no! That sounds like a naughty puppy :-)
I think I just might take a stab at my couch, or at least a needle and thread. lol Great vids! I love the turn out!
Needle and thread haha! At least if you do get angry and stab the couch you should know how to fix it and hid the evidence now :-)
