What a great way too save thousands of dollars. Thanks for sharing how u did this because I thought I was gonna have too get a new couch but u showed me I don’t have too spend another $3000 on another new couch and reuse my old couch. I have had the same Henry Link Sofa and loveseat for over 30 years and have recovered them many times. I learned more from this one video than from all the mistakes I made. You did a fantastic job. Those dropcloths have just enough give to be able to stretch around all those corners. Plus, they're easy to clean. You did a wonderful job.

  • @wilmaknight9127

A little tip, after foam you can attach a mattress topper ontop if you don't want to use the old cushions you had before, use the thickest one you can get , or buy upholstery foam in a suitable depth and cover with what we call battoning fabric before your end fabric which will give you a real cushioned backing , lots of ways to achieve good results these days , most so much cheaper than a new couch, if the base cushions you sit on are sinking, undo the base material, if metal springs I'd say replace them, if strapping cut and tighten up . It's more of a scary thought than actually doing it. , I even recovered a wing back chair using a teddy fleece throw and hot hlue gun, it's wearing pretty well for now been 6months too. This is a great video, you did amazing , wishing I didn't sell my L shaped sofa a few years back , loved it too .

Thanks for the advice. All great things to keep in mind. Fortunately these cushions have no springs in them so not too hard to fix up if they needed plumping. Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it. 💕

I've done this before but made all the covers washable and removable, even the one for the frame. Using piping really helps to neaten up the stitch edges when they are not precise I used piping on every cushion and the armrests

You did a GREAT and professional job of walking us, step by step, through the transformation of giving new life to your old sofa. You also took time to explain each step, which made it easy to follow and understand. But you have numerous talents and skills that we all wish we had, and wish we could do. Just thinking about the time, skill and thought process of doing this can be overwhelming for those of us (me) without such skills. I for one envy how your mind saw what you wanted to do, and then easily figured out each step necessary to recreate your sofa to look amazing with little cost!! Thank you for sharing this with us, GOD bless you.

That was amazing! I've been saying for the longest that I was going to give my head board a makeover but I've been procrastinating, basically lacking confidence. Watching the simplicity of this makeover gave me the courage to at least price the materials. The canvas is a perfect idea. It takes away the stress of shopping for the right fabric at the fabric store. Now I have to learn how to put the studs (bling, bling) in the head board. This will be a great start for my Spring bedroom make over... Thank you for sharing your Gifts.

I wanted to make a little “me space” down in my unfinished basement. I wasn’t looking for something crazy expensive but I did want it to be comfortable th-cam.com/users/postUgkxitRzxya-XugamYgLwa_2G1gxPg4MCJHa as I planned on using it to escape reality and have an inviting place to go when I need “me time”. It came very quickly and it took me maybe 30 minutes to put it all together by myself. I will say, the boxes it comes in are awkward shaped and LARGE. So I did have to have help getting it inside. But it is SO comfy. It’s a little on the firm side but I prefer that. The back is not that attractive but I cover it with a blanket. All in all, I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone.
