    I appreciate your showing such fabulous skills. I love how you continuously smooth the fabric to ensure its tauntness. I especially liked the way you had done a close up on how to pleat the curves on the upper back edge, completely beautiful.Although I have been a skilled seamstress for over twenty-five years I am a novice to upholstery so I repeatedly watch your videos soaking up the info like a sponge every morning as I my coffee. I might watch the same video for an entire week but I am picking up something new everytime. I am having to wait for the remodeling in my living room to be finished ..then it will be my turn. I have already built a pair of sawhorses to be able to work on. Thanks for everything you teach :-)

    Great job and beautiful work. I’m also a Upholsterer and always appreciate good work. Currently, I am upholstering a sofa that I know was mass produced because, a true Master of Upholstery knows how to master their project without a million staples in the place. It’s just not cost efficient 😉!

      If you look at all the steps, you get overwhelmed. Honestly it is not that bad. Look up the carboard and materials, tools needed. Take it one step at a time and I bet you can do it. I saw my mom reupholster the sofa when I was about 7. She worked on it evryday and then covered her work back up so we could sit on it. Single mom with 3 kids aged 9,7 and 5 at the time. Yes, you can do it.

    I can see how the correct fabric choice is so important. I can’t imagine choosing such a basic fabric and paying someone to reupholster with it. Seems like you could just go buy a sofa with that already on it. If you’re going through the effort and money, make it count!

      Once you take apart your couch you'll see how it's all connected! And you'll be surprised how cheaply they put it together! No wonder couches fall apart! But you can easily rebuild it twice as strong!

      He's using headless nails. They're very fine so they go thru the fabric without leaving a hole but get embedded into the wood structure underneath.

    • @KirstyLouiseAnn
      @KirstyLouiseAnn 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you mean the end bit it is a nail gun! It's better to do that before upholster it and then bang them in using a hammer. That way the facing definitely stays on.
