@Fresh N Does it? After killing Lilly and trying to kill Harry he disappeared. Did he just disappear this time or is he really dead? The scene, in that sense, is ambiguous. Yes he's dead because Rollings says he died, but the corpse was both proof and poetic justice.
@Fresh N yeah no one saw him die this way in the books everyone was watching and him dying normally shows that he is gone because his soul left him like a normal human
See, I’m one of the few who disagrees with that opinion. Voldemort doesn’t deserve to die a regular death just like someone like Dumbledore after he was so evil and Dumbledore warned him that being so evil would lead to a fate worse than death. In the book it said Voldemort was again Tom Riddle. But he didn’t deserve to be able to go back to that name and that person after what he had made himself and the harm he’d caused so many. The movie series should have ended like this that all the class of seventh year is waiting for the new DADA teacher when professor Snape's ghost comes in and says "Turn to page 394"
I wished that after the Parts being released separately in theatres and on DVD, there was a full cut with no split. That way, we get the full satisfaction we needed.
Little fact for you all, when writing the Deathly Hallows, Rowing actually had Evans’s Lynch in mind. She did such a great job a Luna, Rowling changed the book character to more reflect the actor!
One scene they added to this film which I thought was brilliant was Harry's encounter with Snape in the great hall because in the book he hides under his cloak with Luna and McGonagall just takes care of him but in the film we see Harry unafraid to step out and confront the man who killed his mentor and it also makes a lot of sense because in Movie flame's review of the Half-Blood Prince book he said that Harry was also betrayed by Snape after defending the Prince the whole year so it just felt incredibly satisfying. The reason this film is my favorite in the series is because if you think about this film makes the least changes from book to film the only change they made in this film that bugged me was how Voldemort died but that's it, the action was heart racing and the added scenes with the people who die in the battle were heart breaking. The only reason this film got above OOTP is because that film removed a small few things I wanted to see (St mungo's and the reveal Umbridge sent the dementors after Harry) Loved these reviews Morgan you've helped me see these films in a better way can't wait for the vids on the Fantastic Beasts films.
Though I love this movie and I also like the scene with Aberforth it really annoys me that Harry tells Aberforth that they are hunting horcruxes. In the books, Harry absolutely refuses to tell anyone because he promised Dumbledore. He doesn't even tell Ginny or Mcgonagall. It doesn't make any sense for Harry to tell Aberforth this. I'm sorry, this probably annoys me more than it should. Also, I wish they left in the story about Ariana. Still love this movie though
The only thing I don't like about the last film is that the saturation is so dark that it can be hard to see anything. I bought this movie on disc so I could watch it in the car, but I literally couldn't see anything
Well, I mean yeah, that’s the point. You see how saturated the first movie is, and it gets a lil darker and darker into the ending kind of parts? Well this was the end, of “childhood” or “laughter” as seen when hedwig dies in the first part. It’s like a full on reverse. Like it’s time to do what is right, and not what’s easy. Its a war, not a quidditch match
@@clowningmywaytomcdonalds6679 Yeah, I like the tone of it, and what the saturation represents, but I want to be able to watch my movie without closing all my blinds! I paid to watch a film, not to add to my electricity bill!
The only thing I didn't like about Deathly Hallows part 2 was the way Voldemort died. I think it should have been the way it happened in the books even though it wasn't as climactic as it was in the movie. Neville could have still killed nagini the same way he did but to have that dialogue Exchange in the Great Hall and Voldemort to off himself by accident would have been Poetic Justice. Besides, without that ending, Severus Snape died in vain. Even though Harry explained in the movie, in the book it was shown through Voldemort's mistake in the Great Hall. Also, I think it would have been so cute to have seen all the house elves come charging out of the kitchen carrying giant butcher knives like they did in the book.
@@antsdutch2712 exactly and I know Harry still revealed why the Elder Wand didn't work but having it backfire rather than Word of Mouth would have been so much better and given Professor Snape's death a little more Merit but with it being a Hollywood movie, I guess they had to attempt their own thing and it was kind of dumb because even after nagini died in the book Voldemort was still alive. Technically Neville Longbottom killed Voldemort in the movie.
@@darrenfreyauthor For some reason I thought that during his last Avada Kedavra, you can see the Elder wand glowing and the spell going into his body rather than fighting Harry who was its true master. So probably he was killed by his own curse. I see it that way.
@@Lav8514 another thing about that, I didn't like was Harry never was the master of the Elder Wand. When Harry disarmed Draco, he disarmed Draco of his original wand, not the Elder Wand. As far as that goes, Draco would own every 1 wand Dumbledore owned, not just the Elder Wand but that's not how it works. You don't win the Wizards entire collection, just the one they were using when they were disarmed. Think of all the witches and Wizards that have been disarmed throughout the whole series. None of them would have their original wands by now if that were the case.
@@darrenfreyauthor Umm yea I understand that part, but well that's how JK Rowling's universe works I suppose, but the fact that Harry and Tom Riddle were related along, having descended from the Peverell brothers, Harry getting the invisibility cloak passed down to him and Voldy getting the resurrection stone. Also one more fact, Dumbledore and Harry have been the only ones to posses all the deathly hallows I suppose, as Dumbledore gave the invisibility cloak to Harry in the 1st year, then the resurrection stone in the snitch, and also being the master of the elder wand and Harry used all 3 of them. That's something I think no other wizard ever did.
Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2 wouldn't be as great if there wasn't Part 1 . That's why they could make this whole movie so intense . Cause part 1 dealt with all the emotional drama . Also Alan Rickman REST IN PEACE
I'd like to add that the editors should not have deleted the scene where Tonks met Remus during the battle and Remus told that she should have been with Teddy Lupin. I loved them as a couple and there was already very little development shown between them in the movies. My favourite dialogue additions: When Harry drops the resurrection stone and sees all his loved ones: Harry: "Why are you here?" Lily: "We never left." I love this addition. It just encompasses everything about the series in that one exchange. And also the last three words added to this line: Voldemort: "Harry Potter.... the boy who lived.... come to die."
ugh I really wish that Neville and luna got together. their friendship was so good in the books, and I barely remember Hannah Abbott having much interaction with Neville at all.
@@clowningmywaytomcdonalds6679 Bit after Neville blows up the bridge. He tells Harry and Ginny that he’s going to tell Luna he’s in love with her. Then after Voldemort dies, Luna comes to sit next to Neville (Suggesting Neville did tell her).
@@james3032 yes but OP is talking about how JK Rowling confirmed that Neville actually ended up with Hannah Abbott & only seemingly ended up with Luna in the movie
I honestly don’t mind it. All romantic growth doesn’t need to happen within the on page context of them as teens. I liked the subtle way you could see connections between Neville and Hannah for example without them showing it. And I like that Luna didn’t have to be defined by her Hogwarts experience but could find joy with someone with similar interests having a normal life and romantic life after the war was over (and remember it’s canon that a lot of people got together young because of pressure from the wars). Key word to me is friendship. I like the idea Luba and Neville could’ve had a great platonic friendship like Harry and Hermione.
I understand why they didn’t but I really wish they would have kept everything after the battle restarted the same as the book and fixed Harry’s wand before destroying the Elder Wand. I also wanted to see at least the three on one duels near the end of the book too. It’s my favorite part of the last chapter before the epilogue. I’m grateful that they at least gave Bonnie Wright stuff to work with in the last movie. After the disaster of Half Blood Prince. Makes up for it a little at bit... though I will always hate that the film’s ignored most of Ginny’s dialogue or moments in the books. Bonnie IRL embodies Ginny’s characterization in the books but never really got a chance to translate that to films because they just didn’t care enough to show it
Josh Z I know right, Bonnie is a very confident and inspirational woman.... If only she was herself in the movies, she would've played her character perfectly
i also didn't like how they never mentioned that Harry's invisible cloak was actually one of the deathly hollows... if you did not read the books, it is not really clear.
2 things I would change: Show Fred’s death Scrap Harry saying goodbye to Ron and Hermione which was pretty feeble IMO and replace it with Harry struggling not to look back into the great hall while under the invisibility cloak and also show Harry passing Ginny comforting the injured girl who wants to stop fighting and go home. These scenes would have mad everything more powerful.
Showing Fred’s death would have been hard tho. There wasn’t really a time to have a death scene in the movie and whenever I think abt how they did it in the books I don’t think it would have looked good in the movies
The reason Harry didn’t say goodbye to Ron and Hermione was he knew they would follow him and he couldn’t risk that. So yeah, it wasn’t a good choice to have him say goodbye. They are a trio, they would not have let Harry walk to his death alone.
the fact that Snape doesn’t say anything about Harry looking like his father just that he has his mothers eyes was really hart warming to me and gives me goosebumps every time
@@enriktigasna they spent an Immense amount of cash in CGI that I also think that changing the color of the girls eyelids just for the flashback would make it better. I mean they said several times that his eyes are a lot like hers, but we Clearly see that his are blue and hers were black.
I think Snape purposely change lily’s eye colour. Symbolically representing his guilt about the prophecy and conveying that he wish he hadn’t known her, that way she could’ve lived.
I just wish they would've included Teddy. Like when Lupin comes to Shell cottage to announce his birth and name Harry godfather, and all of Tonks's motivations for coming to the final battle. I HATED how truncated their relationship was in ALL the films, as they are my favorite characters. It seems like later films began to reduce characters to plot devices instead of fully fleshing them out. Plus, ever since Goblet OF Fire came out, I HATE with a raging passion how all major wand duels now looked liked Priori Incantatum duels. THAT'S NOT HOW WANDS WORK DAMNIT! But I will say, this movie had me in floods. I remember at the midnight screening, people getting food and drinks were taking extra thick layers of napkins to use as tissues. Boxes of tissues were passed around during the film like a church collection plate. And the floor was blanketed with them when the film was over.
Not all of them look like Priori Incantatem duels, do you have a pair of fucking eyes? Did you even see the Department of Mysteries fight? Did you see the Burrow fight? Did you see the fight at that cafe in DH Part 1? How about the Death Eaters catching the trio at the forest? Malfoy Manor skirmish? The entire fucking Battle of Hogwarts aside from Harry vs Voldemort? You don't even need to answer, because it's pretty obvious you haven't seen them, because NONE of those fights are Priori Incantatem duels.
@@groot8950 Calm the fuck down, little child. When I say major duels, I meant MAJOR DUELS, like Voldemort vs Dumbledore, and Voldemort and Harry's final duel. I'm not talking about the background duels that are not the major focus of a scene. Learn how to read before you act like an uninformed ass again.
I remember my Dad, who had watched all 7 harry potter films with me in the cinemas, when it came time for "The Princes Tale" section, he actually turned to me and said "So is Snape Harrys real father then?" I almost laughed but I could honestly see how he would think that the way the memory scene was cut and edited.

All your snap scenes in the beginning like McGonagall waking the statues gives me chills every time. Those are some of the greatest scenes ever in my opinion
I’ve loved all your video essays, they’ve always made me appreciate these films even more than I did! However, this video essay in particular has really made me appreciate how incredible this filming really was. Thank you!!
Lily’s theme is such a beautiful song, the beginning of this movie is my favorite intro ever. It’s so sad and devastating, it prepares us and sets the mood of the whole movie, god bless Alexandre Desplat
I just wish that Harry used reparo on his wand like he did in the books before destroying the elder wand. It makes sense logically but I understand it would’ve been difficult and kinda necessary to put in the film
My one main gripe with the movie is that they left Ariana’s story out with alberforth. Although it would have slowed things down. But done correctly I think they could have made it work.
I just finished re-watching the entire series for the billionth time and I came here not to leave the universe completely yet haha Your channel makes me feel as if the HP world lives on, even after one is done reading the books and watching the movies. Thank you for your amazing job!
Surprised that this is already the last video of the series... Hopefully we will get more Harry Potter Videos in Future! Edit: I think asoiaf (a song of ice and fire) videos would also be great to see
Additions i like in the movie is Ron and Hermiones relationship in the book after they kiss we barley see them as a couple until the epilogue in the movie we see Ron scream that’s my girlfriend you numpties and he hold on Hermione after Neville killed nagini
Did Harry and Dumbledore discuss the Hallows at all during the scene at King's Cross station? I know they had a very long talk in the book. Kinda wish that scene was longer too but regardless this movie was fantastic.
One bit of music that really got me hooked on this final movie was the intro. After you see Voldemort get the Elder Wand and you see Snape looking conflicted, the intro music picks up as you see the title, only this time, the music gives a vibe that says "this is it. this is the last one", and I love it.
My only complaint about this film is that I wish they kept Voldermort’s death from the book, instead of making him get all dusty like thanos snapped him away
The one scene that was in the book and not in the movie but gave me Goosebumps was when after the battle the trio go to the headmaster office abd all the portraits are dancing abd celebrating and Dumbledore crying and being proud of Harry and their conversation afterwards
In my opinion, the best moment/scene of the series is when Snape gives harry the memories. When Harry realises the truth and everything snape has done. That moment made me cry so much I had to stop the movie for a bit.
I’m reading all the comments and how is no one talking about the background music during the war? Like it’s not this like loud fighting music, it’s this intense, but intriguing sound, and it’s AMAZING. This is also one of the amazing things in this last Harry Potter film, it really adds a lot to the Story, tbh. I love the music I wish more people talked about it ♥︎♡︎❤︎

Am I the only one who gets teary eyed when I see babies crying? The scene of baby Harry with tears in his eyes 5:48 and then him crying in the background 5:58 hurts my soul. Like I just wanna pick him up and comfort the baby. I laugh cause I should be sad about Snape but... THE BABY!!! HE'S CRYING!!
nope, you're not the only one. In fact, it's the reason why Voldemort 'died' after attempting to kill Harry. He could never tolerate children crying in the night during his life in the orphanage, leaving his soul conflicted an in effect, split...something Dumbledore guessed and mentioned to Harry also.... And yes, it's mentioned in the book during that part where Harry and Hermione were in Bathilda Bagshot's house.
Yes the books and the movies - masterpieces!! You can absolutely loose yourself in this world again and again. It is just amazing how all the pieces (story, characters, actors, movies etc) came together with the work of so many different people that were all part of this franchise. Will it continue.......always!

Great video! I totally agree the scene with Snape hugging Lily's body added so much more to the memory than just describing their childhoods together. I can't believe you didn't say anything about "The Forest Again" though, wasn't it an incredible performance by Daniel? And his goodbye to Ron and Hermione (though not canon)? Gary Oldman's face when he said that death would be painless.. :sob: This was the most painful moment for me because his expression was light, but you could see his pain that this kid is going to die

@@JonathanSmith-ge4pi closing blinds adds to your electricity bill?
Apparently it’s a 3D film but that just makes me wonder how you could see it in 3D lol
I know the fandom holds the books as sacred texts, but I agree with the changes. Destroying the Elder Wand makes much more sense.
Darren Frey yes excatly Voldemort’s death in the book feels so rewarding
I honestly liked part 1 more and the search for the horcruxes
My most favorite part of this movie is hearing Voldemort laugh.
And the remix out if it

I'd like to add that the editors should not have deleted the scene where Tonks met Remus during the battle and Remus told that she should have been with Teddy Lupin.
I loved them as a couple and there was already very little development shown between them in the movies.
At-least that scene would have made their love towards each other and their sacrifice for the greater good more impactful. :)
"Goblet of Fire"
Everyone: *Harry did ya put ya name in da Goblet of Fiyah*
*said dumbledore CALMLY*
Nono sir
said Dumbledore *C A L M L Y*
My favourite dialogue additions: When Harry drops the resurrection stone and sees all his loved ones:
Harry: "Why are you here?"
Lily: "We never left."
I love this addition. It just encompasses everything about the series in that one exchange. And also the last three words added to this line:
Voldemort: "Harry Potter.... the boy who lived.... come to die."
This is the saddest (Snape, Lupin, Tonks, Fred) and also the most relieving (Voldemorts death)
Voldemorts death in the books is very sad but the most satisfying is Bella's death
dobby.
When Voldemort died, I cried because there would be no more Harry Potter
ugh I really wish that Neville and luna got together. their friendship was so good in the books, and I barely remember Hannah Abbott having much interaction with Neville at all.
Exactly, did they even talk to each other ONCE in 7 years?
cogamers84 when? Like srsly when dude?
Out last ten years ago, talked about like it was out 10 months ago
Yeah, probably the movie that really enhance Ginny is Order of The Phoenix and I really love Ginny in there before dissapointed came in HBP
i also didn't like how they never mentioned that Harry's invisible cloak was actually one of the deathly hollows... if you did not read the books, it is not really clear.
agree i think voldemort fight kingsely and two more ...and bellatrix against 3 alsooo
Whenever I read the 7th book and Hermione turns into Bellatrix I always think luckily she does not have a cat
🤣🤣🤣
2 things I would change:
Show Fred’s death
Scrap Harry saying goodbye to Ron and Hermione which was pretty feeble IMO and replace it with Harry struggling not to look back into the great hall while under the invisibility cloak and also show Harry passing Ginny comforting the injured girl who wants to stop fighting and go home. These scenes would have mad everything more powerful.
Showing Fred’s death would have been hard tho. There wasn’t really a time to have a death scene in the movie and whenever I think abt how they did it in the books I don’t think it would have looked good in the movies
Fair enough it might have been a bit too brutal, it’s just a shame the death wasn’t as impactful as it coulda been
@@ryansantoni it was still really impactful in the movie tho.
The reason Harry didn’t say goodbye to Ron and Hermione was he knew they would follow him and he couldn’t risk that. So yeah, it wasn’t a good choice to have him say goodbye. They are a trio, they would not have let Harry walk to his death alone.
the fact that Snape doesn’t say anything about Harry looking like his father just that he has his mothers eyes was really hart warming to me and gives me goosebumps every time
Heart*
MovieFlame: Praises the movie’s editing. (While editing his own videos flawlessly)
"You have your mother's eyes"
Harry's eyes Blue
Lily's child eyes in the memories of Snape: Black
It always kills me they didn’t bother to add that easy detail when rest is so carefully crafted.
@@ethanjobson3879 Many actors are allergic to colored contact lenses. So it's perhaps not their fault
@@enriktigasna they spent an Immense amount of cash in CGI that I also think that changing the color of the girls eyelids just for the flashback would make it better.
I mean they said several times that his eyes are a lot like hers, but we Clearly see that his are blue and hers were black.
@@ethanjobson3879 they gave Dan green eye contacts but he was allergic to it
I think Snape purposely change lily’s eye colour.
What?
For me, the princes tale is the best scene in the films and the best chapter in the books hands down

I feel like on of the best moments in the movie was Snape's great hall speech. There is so much tension created in the way he deliver it.
I love how you didn't even show the cover of season 8 like it didn't ever exist
He even says ‚final season‘ and shows the poster of season 7 😅
Lily’s theme is such a beautiful song, the beginning of this movie is my favorite intro ever. It’s so sad and devastating, it prepares us and sets the mood of the whole movie, god bless Alexandre Desplat
my favorite part was when mcgonagall said
" I always wanted to do that "
I just wish that Harry used reparo on his wand like he did in the books before destroying the elder wand. It makes sense logically but I understand it would’ve been difficult and kinda necessary to put in the film
I never realized how the poster for DH2 is like a battle between noses
My one main gripe with the movie is that they left Ariana’s story out with alberforth. Although it would have slowed things down. But done correctly I think they could have made it work.

Did Harry and Dumbledore discuss the Hallows at all during the scene at King's Cross station? I know they had a very long talk in the book. Kinda wish that scene was longer too but regardless this movie was fantastic.
The music/scoring of this movie is beyond brilliant. I could listen to the battle soundtrack all day it is so fantastic. Just makes the scenes perfect
The Harry Potter franchise is directly connected to our hearts!
Deathly hollows part 2 is one of the best movies ever made
Badly want prequels movie to the life and rise to power of Tom riddle with the second or third movie ending when he arrives to the Potters home.
That quote "After all this time?"
"Always."
gives me chills everytime I hear it, it's just so well done in my opinion.
This is my second favorite in the entire series
The one scene that was in the book and not in the movie but gave me Goosebumps was when after the battle the trio go to the headmaster office abd all the portraits are dancing abd celebrating and Dumbledore crying and being proud of Harry and their conversation afterwards
Honestly this is the best summarization

nope, you're not the only one.
