How to Replace the starter motor on the Ford Focus 2014 to 2018

Petrol (Hatchback and Estate)
1.0 litre (998cc) 3-cyl
1.6 litre (1596cc) 4-cyl
Diesel (Hatchback and Estate)
1.5 litre (1499cc)
1.6 litre (1560cc)
Exclusions:
Does NOT cover 1.5, 2.0 or 2.3 litre petrol engines, Flexfuel models or 2.0 litre diesel engine. Does NOT cover ST or RS models, 4WD, automatic or ‘Powershift’ transmissions.

Watch others videos , no need to remove the battery . Many doing from start to finish from the bottom without doing all that .

It’s much easier removing the battery and tray to get to the two top bolts from above and it only takes an extra 10 minutes.. Great video just fitted my new starter. 😊

0:58 this is a Ford Fusion. I'm gonna assume that means the starter location on the Focus is at the same location

I didn't see car was jacked up. Can I do without jack it up?

Tricky. You need access to the rear lower face of the engine.

Why remove the battery? Just disconnecting is adequate.

We removed the battery to give access to the starter motor upper mounting bolt.
