Cars have become insane we used to remove 2 bolts swap the thermostat and it was done

Really helpful video. Followed it and got the job done. However, you don't tell us about the pipe bolted onto the back end of the housing. Real time consuming bolt to get out. Even worse to put back in
What poor engineering for the engine and compartment just to install a new thermostat. this used to be a $5 thermostat and a 30 minute job. Now the dealer wants $350 to do this. Great video.

That is not 2014 and i am sure about it because the thermustate is on your left facing the car from the front not the battery side, and the thermostat itself different from the one you show on the video.
My 2013 1.0 ecoboost focus engine heats up really fast. Engine be boiling withing a minute but it doesn't overheat. It also doesn't cool down after I switch off ignition, I could leave it an hour or two and temperature gauge would still be on halfway? I'm completely lost any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm a little confused because I seen a video that shows a removable thermostat on the left outlet. So I'm a bit confused by it, is it possible that it has 2
This video is for Diesel models. The thermostat for petrol models is in a different place.
What all tools do I need to do this I can easily see that there is a small torque wrench but what size torque wrench

The bleed cap is fitted to the thermostat housing.

Would have been a shorter video had I not had to refit the under tray about 8 times.
What size torx was that for under tray?!
Sorry, the size was not recorded at the time. We just use the right size from the Torx bit set.

A very helpful video. The steps to remove and refit the undertray are shown twice, presumably where you edited together existing videos for each of the components. Good that you wore gloves throughout - probably worth saying out loud that the coolant is toxic and you should avoid touching it (and should dispose of it safely). The engine layout looks correct for my 2014 C-Max 1.6TDCI, although unfortunately you don't do a full Haynes manual for this model.

This is for the cooling system bypass line, not the thermostat.

It’s a Ford Fusion.. a lot different
Ford Focus has the thermostat at the other side by the water pump. 2012 to 2015, just to add this info.

So if this video is meant for DIESEL Ford Focus’ why in God’s name wouldn’t you say that in the video or the damn title! Just spent 15 minutes watching this stupid video just to go to the comments and see it’s not even for the correct vehicle! This video deserves way more dislikes than it has because there is literally no way of knowing if you’re watching instructions for the correct vehicle unless you go to the comments and stumble upon it.
Be glad you didn’t spend 2 hours taking it apart and wondering why tf you’re not looking at the same car. I’m beyond pissed rn. Not to mention I can’t find a video anywhere on how to actually change the thermostat on a 2018 focus🤦🏽♂️

2014 was a change over year aka some 2014 focuses are pre facelift and some are post facelift, this is for the facelift MK3 (late 2014 onwards)
Would be a great video if you provided information about all engines available in the Escape. At least indicate at the beginning of the video, what engines are covered in the review. Better yet, don't let Internet searches for specific vehicles result in a search return that is not relevant in the first place. Bottomline: hire qualified programmers! Haynes has gone downhill when it comes to providing thorough information to "backyard mechanics."
