    I can understand the need for cars to evolve, be more compact and that everything needs to be somewhere - but I've noticed as time passes that you need to dismantle more and more on modern cars just to reach parts that you'd expect to be replaced. The access on some modern cars just to access a simple bulb change is ridiculous and certainly not something you'd be attempting on a dark road at night in an emergency.

    Why do you have to remove battery and air filter? Why can’t you just go underneath and sort from there?

      Thanks for the comment. On these engines, the starter is located on the rear of the cylinder block.

    Mine needs fitting, starts fine on a warm sunny day but getting into winter takes long and longer.
