GW's only manufacturing issue is that they haven't sold all of the old models they manufactured. I 100% believe they are just trying to clear out back stock with these garbage box sets.

I managed to get the second wave stuff but let’s face it not enough stock to get a decent game
GW never wanted it to succeed.
It came out, sold and they were like oh yep sweet lets put that on the shelf out back for another day.
I don't play Combat Patrol on the sheer principle that they used those boxes to replace the far superior _"Start Collecting!"_ range that everybody loved, if only because they were reliable, discounted minis.
And hey, those CP boxes offer less and less value with each iteration, both in terms of savings and in usefulness.

The CP boxes coming out now basically have as many models in them as the old Start Collecting boxes, at a huge markup. It's a scam.
They also, very often, don't even come close to giving you 500 pts worth of models on the tabletop. Half the reason they came out with the separate Combat Patrol game mode had to be so they can silo the models with different rules balanced specifically for that mode. Negating the need to ever entertain the idea that they really represent a quarter of a full army. They can just make a balanced list separately, and then populate the box with as few models as they think they can get away with.

I'm kind of glad I'm a White Scars player - they'll never release another character for us, so I don't have to spend 4 million pounds (or whatever they're charging now) to get one guy :)

Honestly, just keep a spare bike around and then slap whatever kitbash fits the new loadout options on that shit and you probably got a better version of the new character than whatever one they'll release

The problem with the tagline is that the knowing playerbase already knows about the “lie” and the tag is a nothingburger. It would be like 30K launching with the title “The Emperor Never Told Us About Chaos”

Yeah, I know little about AoS except the stormcast are stolen souls that become more and more souless automatons on each summon. I kind of thought that was the whole point/lore of the Stormcast and AoS
I think there's also the lie from Nagash's point of view too, Sigmar lied about giving any souls to him essentially. Kinda like promising your buddy you'll get him a beer and everything you bring a pint back it's just the foam the barman poured off the tip of your own beer.

In regards to those Chaos Lords. Do people really not think that they’d eventually get individual releases? I mean the Daemon Prince got released the same way, so did snickrot and farsight. I don’t know fomo is still fomo, but y’all are acting like they’d only ever be released in those two boxes.

I, for one, welcome our new rat overlords.
Agree with everything that you say - especially about the flight stands, and on not buying bundle boxes unless you want the whole bundle - but I did notice one surprising small good thing. They launched the new Horus Heresy Solar Auxilia in a bundle box, and they're now about to start selling the contents of the bundle box only three weeks afterwards. Three weeks between bundle box release and individual release is a lot better than three months.
Not to mention the huge fight that broke out on the parking lot yesterday.

I believe Games Workshop is no longer concerned about 3D printing, as Skaven and other elements from the Old World wouldn't be protectable by intellectual property rights.
As a fairly new Warhammer player, The Combat Patrol is a shite game mode and I never want to play it.

It's honestly garbage. Balance issues aside, the use only what's in the box problems really kill options...
Try out some other rules from earlier editions? I find those combat patrol rules closer to my heart.
My first taste of combat patrol was back in 4e or 5e and it was designed to be a fast and loose game with as few as 20 or so models on the table. It was fun and the rules were simple enough to fit on two sides of one page, and they encouraged you to use your creative modeling skills to come up with unique units that don't really come up in regular 40k oh wait... I just described Kill Team actually... What is the difference between combat patrol and kill team? Oh yeah, they both are separate product lines from the main game now so I guess there's a "huge" difference.

I can't believe anyone would have anything critical to say about that new dwarven lord mini. Having an especially important dwarf standing atop an especially important shield like Vitalstatistix from the Asterix comics/cartoons is surely the apotheosis of all things dwarfy.

It can be done. The problem is that Warhammer isn't particularly deep on a mechanical level.

Im honestly curious if someone can explain to me, or share a source that explains, what is the issue with Tactical Rocks. I always either incorporate them in my basing of cut them off and build up the base so i dont understand the hate
There are good and bad tac-rocks, there are ones that come separate or are easy to incorporate, then there one the ones where the character is crouching in a silly pose that makes doubles stand out.
Imo the Chaos Lord doesn't seem like a bad example, but the Eldar ranger squad is a bit tacky.

at this point i find 3d prints i like more than GW prints. The only thing they still own fully in my eyes is the chaos space marines. There is better proxies for everything else.
This so much. There are so many amazing sculpts for dwarfs, empire and bretonnia in MMF for way cheaper

5:59 Dawnbringers include rules for Armies of Renown, which will be supported by 4th edition of AOS (confirmed when they in the announcment of 4th edition). I hope they will support the codes for app as well from these books.
Gw is far from a perfect company, 40k is no perfect game. But when did whining about gw became enough of a sub-genre, to support so many youtube channels? 😂

I collect aos death, so to me "Sigmar lied" is referring to how Nagash is super pissed because he was supposed to be the god of death, and Sigmar is stealing a bunch of souls by rezzing all those stormcast.

Sigmar lied because everytime Stormcasts are reforged they lose a bit of themselves: they may lose some memories, then the ability to speak, then they forget their name, and some forget everything about their past life (in the Mortal Realms and in the Old World), they may end up becoming just killing machines powered by thunder. They didnt know that, now they do. Nagash told them.
Okay, but that's neither a revelation for the Stormcasts themselves, nor a revelation to the audience. It hasn't been a secret since the start of 2nd edition, I think. Why would GW hype this up, as if it were a real reveal?

I'm potentially interested in both factions in both the warcry and killteam boxes, but I suspect I'll be waiting until they're available on their own rather than buying an overpriced box with terrain I can probably make on my own.
Solo Necromunda and/or a dungeon crawl sounds like something my bro would be very much interested in.
Needing to buy a huge box just to get one miniature makes be so glad I got good at conversions as early as I did.

the Votann and Broodbrothers will *eventually* be in their own smaller boxes, like everything else in the Kill Team line.
This is even more confusing when you look at the Ork,Necron,admech and Custodes reveals this edition

Going to buy A LOT of dwarves. And the new LoV kit as well. I have the Arks of Omen chaos box so most of the new chaos stuff would actually be useful to me, but I don’t want to spend that much, especially because I need more dwarves!

Interesting review of the new releases. I wonder if there has every been a new GW release in the internet age that hasn't generated some fuss in one way or another? Never been a big fan myself, liked their acrylics back in the day, have a 90s Space Marine squad and a matching Tyranid box, but that's about it!
Played a massive four table wide Warhammer game where I thought the WH players would teach me the game, but essentially got my butt handed to me when I had a standard unit, and they had better squads. Not cool! That probably is what put me off their games.
I did play Necromunda a few times after that, and liked the concept.

My 2nd ed 40k team was Genestealer cult. I used a combo of Necromunda gangs for units, a couple of genestealer units and some imperial guard tanks. Also used a Wyrd as the leader. back in the glory days of 1999. was a fun army to play.

TBF I was going to start a new Night Lords army so the 2 army box sets, Night Lords/Dark Eldar kill team box & new combat patrol will sort that out. Maybe 2 of the old combat patrols too so i have some heavies. So not all bad but a pain in the arse for anybody who just wanted the 2 new lord models.

TOW won't be directly supporting Skaven, they're core to AoS.
Imperial Gaurd was only included because GW was trying not to replace Space Marines, Rick Priestly said so. 😉

Eeh, the Skaven basic units are probably all monopose, 10 in a 60 eur unit box, require 12 models per unit, with min. 6 units per army to be viable or smth.
It's the same for the new custodes shield captain i ain't buyinh that 230$ box set for 2 character i have 4000k point of custodes i don't need anymore i will just wait for him to come out separately
Hopefully people wanting the Chaos Lords will just wait and get them second hand separately or just until the single character releases. No point getting those big boxes at all if you're already a collector.

This video never showed up. 24 hours later, it was buried way way down. Then video didn't want to load, even though other videos were fine. I had to reload my app twice to get it to play. re: solo and Warhammer:
when I saw solo at the cinema my thoughts through the whole thing were "this would be way better if they just stripped the star wars branding and re-branded it as the origin story of a rogue trader in a 40k 'cinematic universe', but otherwise changed nothing else."
I am just annoyed that all my Chaos Lord wargear loadouts got invalidated, but will probably be brought back because of the new sculpts. Honestly, my motivation to play 40k is minimal. At least with Heresy, I am not worried my models will be invalidated (may just have sucky rules).
As chaos marine and kill team enjoyer im eating good they also mention new rules so I’m hoping on that vashtorr buff

GW has 3 flight stands, Ball stands, cup stands and peg stands,
Peg stands are great, you can unploug them for travel and reduce the risk of snapping the model off its stand in transit.
Ball stands are not very good as it can be plugged into the model without glueing it but the model will regularly fall off of it when being used.
Cup stands are awful because you are forced to glue the model to it meaning it is going to snap off eventually.
there is the plane stands too but planes are irrelevant currently and its too big for infantry.
some flying models work without flight stands like Mortarion but I agree that its a hit and miss process.
I 100% would love to see some Malifaux content!

As much as I like various attempts at making a mini fly/jump without using a clear flight base... that chaos lord "flying" maybe 20cm in the air on top of a pathetic little smoke cloud is absolutely _precious_ .

I don't know much about marketing, but in long run wouldn't they make more money if every spru was sold separately. Buyers might be more inclined to add to their armies if they could do it a bit at a time rather than one large outlay. Or maybe I just don't understand Warhammer players.

Sigmar made it seem like he was just bringing the dead back to life to fight against the forces of evil. But he didn't tell them that with each resurrection they lose a part of their soul. Also I feel like you believe that they aren't going to eventually sell the chaos lords separately. They've been doing this for awhile now, it's nothing new. The chaos lord we currently have (The one from blackstone fortress) wasn't even technically a 40k model originally, it was from a side boardgame they made.
After I saw the GW was pulling their stock from game stores, I went out and spent some money at the local game store. At least that was a positive action I could take to do some good. The only way to fight this level of greed is to proxy/ pirate. There will always be whales willing to drop the money regardless but at least I won't be wasting mine. Nevermind that if I were to buy one of those 230$ sets, that's a full third of my fixed income-- it's *insane*!
Skaven have numerous nice looking Underworlds warbands. All GW has to do is keep that going and not drop the ball. I don't have the highest hopes.
Moving on... To 2d and 3d edition....

The thing with the new lord models getting bundled on initial release is nothing new...
Going back to 6th and 7th edition, that was what they did then.
Except, they did it as two player versus boxes... Fang and Klaw, for instance... want the new wolf lord or plastic warboss? Better buy the big box with half of it not being what you want.
This is nothing new.
The only thing different, is that if you are patient, the individual models will get released on their own several months later.
I love the new Votan guys. They have the kind of look I wanted from the Ironhead Prospectors in Necromunda.

It was this Adepticon that made me realise.... I really dont give a shit about GW. I bought into Legions Imperialis and it is so shit. At least i have plenty painted for Future War Commander
Necromunda: Secundus should bring Genestealer Cults as they have control of Hive Secundus so hopefully new minis for them and what would be great is a mixed expeditionary gang made up of members of different gangs. Lore wise this would be an 'enemy of my enemy' situation until they get a footing then it's a free for all! If it's a big box release then OK but what would be better is a series of books (we like our Necromunda books) with separate gang boxes, a mixed gang would give Newbies a way to see which faction models they like as well as how the different gangs play!
Im sorry, could you give me TL;DR version? After learning about OPR my patience and attention span for GW is much shorter since I stopped practicing checking my codex, enemies codex and the rulebook for 45 minutes every game turn.
I left the hobby when they killed fantasy, ending my Wood Elves and Skaven collecting.
Now old world is here - I’m back in with Wood Elves. If they keep going their current route though, I’m gonna start getting on a lot better with Etsy.
Glad I am not the only person who doesn’t enjoy playing against dwarves.
I played fantasy back in 5th and 6th edition. Dwarves were so frustrating to play against! LOL.
