We have two models to fill the role, the transuranic arquebus on rangers and the chicken walker. And due to the dumb A-pose, and relatively small base size, there isn't any option for changing the pose. Transportation of this thing is also difficult, it's taller than any other model in the range (excluding knights and flyers) so a player is less likely to have storage that can fit it, in gameplay its liable to keel over at a stiff breeze, and has enough fiddly bits on it to garuntee a break with every touch I honestly looked at stilt boy and thought to myself, that is the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Bought Another Glorious Day In The Corp plus its expansions and the Escape from Nostromo game just before Xmas. My eyes are open to other game systems now, especially as you can find entire games for the cost of one character model from 40K.
Agreed on the desolators, a lot of the primaris stuff just looks stupid. Not a fan of the Rogal Dorn though, the turret mounted stubber is just moronic - it's so far back on the large turret that it can't hit anything close to the vehicle (and the gun mantlet gets in the way as well), you can't turn it much side to side without bumping into the guys either side, and you can't fire it without deafening them.
100% the Desolation squad. It doesn't even match the new established naming style. They've literally just strapped a bunch of rocket pods onto the front of the intercessors, and not even done it well. The rockets backdraft will hit them right in the face, the weapons are poorly proportioned and look like they're about to spin forward out of their hands, and just... look silly.
Shatterpoint made me decide to give up on gaming. I thought Legion could be an alternative to GW. So right on cue they dilute the game space with Shatterpoint. Now it is One Page Rules and Battletech or nothing.

Yeah can't agree. The Rogal Dorn is a fail for me, particularly because of the hole in the bottom and the derpy guy hanging off the turret. I put it in the same class as the Desolators, a rushed "upgrade" of existing models.
Well. Surprised by some but I mostly agree. All in all I like the goofyness of the desolation squad... I don't know. I see why they suck but also I'm like what the hell, nothing makes sens in 40k anyways 😂 Same for the skitary sniper guy...
Agreeing about the Ad-Mech sniper on stilts. They're a bunch of superstitious weirdos that don't fully seem to understand the technology they're working with, like human versions of ork meks. It just sucks the rules seem pretty lackluster for it.

Nice selection of minis, particularly like those templars, very cool! Personally I like Skabbiks Plague Pack or the Kruhlboys Warcry Team as my favourites. But FairPlay to your choices, except the Hellbrute remains the worst model of all time!
"The lore is just wind" YEEEEESSSSSSS
The fandom would benefit so much from understanding that. Good on you, Discourse.
You need to swap your 3rds
Not joking
Everything you talked about with lazy sculpts is perfectly examplified by the scatros it's shit.
I do not agree with the rankings, or een about best/worst models. Buuuut, the reasoning is consistent. Your best model shocks me.
Have the happiest of New Years. Looking forward to see what you have in store fir 24 ! ! !
the Carnivale mini was a jab at the human centipede...if you don't know what that is, look it up
All of the best (and worst) minis of the year come from a 3D printer, so many amazing artists and options out there.
Thanks for an informative and funny year, discourse!
Alien is a christmas movie 🎅 ! Best thing I heard this week 😂
The fart sound at the mechanicus model had me cracking up 😂
Love to see Carnevale getting some love, even if it's calling out their abominations against man and god
If you like the footsore stuff - check out reconquer designs
Surprised silver bayonet didn't get honourable mention
Those Star Wars Legion Dark Imperial Dark Troopers look like blatant ripoffs of the old Copplestone Future Wars Terminator Robots.
Honestly I think all those units look sic. Im a heritic and I love the looks. As a rule of cool guy I buy models that I for one like the look for first regardless on the challange of painting it. I guse if you had and only had to buy 1 army you might get get a compitive one so you can still play local and have a better change in a tornament. Iv only one 1 game and iv loved very game i play.
Greetings and a happy new year from Germ-any. - Eileen (yea I don't know why my parents gave me an Irish name, guess Germ-any isn't a country after all)
No apologies lol but the Rogal Dorn is possibly my choice for worse mini. Every time I look at it, I keep finding new reasons to hate it.
Thanks for the video. Personally my favourite minis was a hacker from stargrave (from Northstar minis) paint with the bisexual pride flag colours. I really liked their metal characters both simple but.... with character. Don't really know why may be because they have this handmade vibe
What new mini would you like to see for the beastmen army box for the old world? A plastic Preyton or Jabberslythe would be cool.
Ha thats not happening for a long time. First any beastman it will be released for AoS and can be used in old world
I suppose it's fitting that the Dark Troopers do come from a PS1 game.
It actually looks better as a 2d sprite in the MS-DOS version.
Best mini of the year: The Gambler from v Kingdom Death
Dammit, man, that thing is WILD!
Yeah can't agree. The Rogal Dorn is a fail for me, particularly because of the hole in the bottom and the derpy guy hanging off the turret. I put it in the same class as the Desolators, a rushed "upgrade" of existing models.
The only thing that can save GW is bringing back shirtless custodes.
Banger video, banger thumbnail.
I don’t think I have never thought the dorn tank when I think guard.
It’s always the Russ or bane blade but that may be just a me thing.
Excellent videos, many of those great honorable mentions were new to me.
Looking forward to getting my hands on that Pegasus Lord alright. January 20th!
Sorry Discord, I should have known I was wrong all along
It's very rare to find someone who doesn't like the Clone wars style. Each their own, great vid
Thank you for the amazing videos over the year o7
aw thanks :3
The Unholy Union was an instant buy for me. I definitely needed it to... pile of flesh out my Doctors.
Well. Surprised by some but I mostly agree. All in all I like the goofyness of the desolation squad... I don't know. I see why they suck but also I'm like what the hell, nothing makes sens in 40k anyways 😂
Same for the skitary sniper guy...
Agreeing about the Ad-Mech sniper on stilts. They're a bunch of superstitious weirdos that don't fully seem to understand the technology they're working with, like human versions of ork meks. It just sucks the rules seem pretty lackluster for it.
I like the tall boy a lot but I also have seen better mockups of poses from concept artists online
The unholy union - AAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH - I am so sad I saw this, but at the same time happy.
Footsore foot knights! I like your style kid👍
I genuinely just enjoy hearing you talk about things😂 you could debate why 40k needs an onstage musical, and I'd listen to every minute
The really funny thing? That Wetherspoons is in Nottingham. Dunno if you planned that.
I love horror miniatures.
The jump pack marines look awesome ! You’re wild
