    Mate, this is a VERY good post! I have always noticed a "rumble" from my Commander blower since I've owned it and I have only done 62,000 Kms (38,000 miles). I think it may have been a poorly produced part right from the factory. Watching your video has given me the confidence to buy a much better quality replacement for self-installation. Many thanks for this!!!! Mark - Australia.

      Hey Mark,
      Thank you so much for watching the video and for that awesome feedback! I'm very happy that you enjoyed the content and that you are going to replace the blower motor yourself. For me, this is what it's all about, saving people money by giving them the information they need to do the job themselves. I'd love to hear from you again so please let me know how the install goes. Thanks for the video, it was well done. I just replaced my blower motor and discovered lots of leaves and pine needles in it (from some previous owner) along with a small mouse that must have been the cause of the stoppage/failure (the fan caused his demise). The replacement fan from Amazon works like a champ and is of course quieter.

    Well made video, you made it look easy, the way it should always be. Unfortunately too many engineers are not very competent and their designs show it.

    Thanks for this informative video. Have you considered adding a cabin air-filter to the Commander - I understand that one from Grand Cherokee can be cut to size to fit somewhere under the bonnet where the air intake for the cabin air is. I'd love to know where/what/how if anyone has done it.

    Hey Bill, great video. My a/c quit working on my '06 Commander in 100 degree plus weather last week. I checked the fuse and relay under hood both okay. Then replaced blower motor resistor and still no air (no fan). So do you think it is the blower motor? The box and panel are already off so it is easily accessible as you show. It had been making a banging noise previously when fan did work but would stop after a few. Now nothing.

      Hey Michael,
      Thank you for watching the video and for your inquiry. Yes I think replacing the blower motor needs to be your next step. I would make sure to take the old one with you when you buy it so they don't try to sell you the wrong unit. @@mybatterhalf6614 Well I took the blower motor off and it is/was very hard to turn (almost like frozen) so that tells me a bearing problem maybe? Anyway, I ordered one from AutoZone and will pick it up but like you suggested, will take the old one with me to make sure. Your videos definitely help us do more with what we have saving money also. Cheers.

    Question, so my commander ac won’t blow period we’ve done all kinds of stuff to fix it and haven’t came across the blower fan… do you think that would fix it?

    • @mybatterhalf6614
      @mybatterhalf6614  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Kai,
      Thanks for watching the video. So if I understand correctly, you're saying that when you turn on the fan no air comes out of the vents at all? This could actually be one of three things. The fuse could be blown, the resistor is bad and needs replaced, the blower motor itself is dead and needs replaced. All three of these scenarios are an easy fix but you definitely need to check each one in that order before you make any purchases. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thank you for your question. I have several more videos that deal with vehicle maintenance so please consider subscribing if you haven't already.

    • @mybatterhalf6614
      @mybatterhalf6614  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mario,
      Yes that is correct. Your blower motor is dead. You may want to make sure the fuse isn't blown before you replace it. If you do end up getting one make sure you remove it and take it with you to the auto store because they almost sold me the wrong one. Thank you so much for watching the video and your question. I have several new videos coming out soon so please subscribe if you haven't already.

      Hey Kolton,
      Thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment. If water is leaking from the blower motor inside the car it sounds like the evaporator drain may be clogged up with debris. If you have access to an air compressor you can blow the debris out with an air gun. You'll want to get this taken care of soon though because it could eventually short out your blower motor if water drips on the resistor. Again, thank you for watching. If you have anymore questions please don't hesitate to ask. I have several more videos that revolve around vehicle maintenance so please consider subscribing if you haven't already.

      @@mybatterhalf6614 Where do you put the air to blow it out?

    • @mybatterhalf6614
      @mybatterhalf6614  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Kolton,
      The drain tube for your evaporator is under your car, probably on the passenger side. If you need to jack your car up then obviously make sure you use jack stands. Just put the air gun right on the end of the drain tube and blow right up inside it. Once the drain is unclogged then some water will spill out of it onto the ground. If for some reason the air gun didn't work then you can stick a coat hanger up there and that should work also. I hope that helped. If you need anymore assistance please let me know. Thanks
