Thank you for this! Mine was making the same noise so we took it apart this morning and a MOUSE fell out! Couldn't believe I would have the EXACT same problem you did! Your video helped this be a simple, easy fix!
dealer wanted 150 per hour of labor and then said they wouldn't put in an after market blower because they couldn't warranty it. i saw your video and did it super fast.thanks for the video help, screw jeep.
Thank you so much for the eye opener. I’ve had this problem for long and was about to go get a mechanic figure it out (possibly replace something). I opened mine from the bottom panel and blower had a dead dried out mouse as well as a bunch of dry leaves in there. Emptied it and it’s working like a Cadillac. I didn’t even take out my glove box all through the process. Y’all saved me some bucks right there. THANK YOU 🙏🏾
I'm doing this tomorrow to replace my blower motor. Thank you for posting this. It's definitely going to help me feel like I've done this before thanks to you two.
This video was awesome. I saved 300 on doing it myself. Im not a mechanic but you explained it so good and step by step. I got the courage to do it myself and just in time for winter. Thanks again and keep posting.
I want to thank you for your wonderful diy video and as yours my jeep commander is a 2007 and it too had a grey dead mouse in it. It seems pretty consistent that if you hear a noise in your blower motor that you will come across a dead critter trying to exercise on a habitrail (blower motor)
I had the same issue with the fan vibrating huge. Then we were getting a terrible smell in the jeep when the blower was on. I searched your you tube video watched it this morning and it literally took me the same amount of time and looked exactly the same. a little pile of fries and insulation below the fan and a dead mouse in the fan. I'd love to post pictures. Thanks for the upload!
HUGE HELP! We had the exact same problem with our Jeep and your video saves us about $1000! Very informative and detailed. You guys are awesome, thank you!!!
You won't believe what happened. We had this terrible noise just like your was doing . we were ready to take it in for some to over charge us to fix it. But first my husband decided to look on line to see if maybe he could find something to help him learn how to fix it himself,, when he ran across your video. He followed you wonderful instructions. And low an behold there was a mouse. And just like yours it was gray stiff and dead The only difference was !, you said it was 17° it was 93 here in Arizona. Thank you so much for posting this the Kennedys
Thanks for the video. I had the same problem with my Commander. After watching your video, I had the blower motor out and removed the dead mouse in 15 minutes.I put the blower motor back and it still made the noise. Took it out again and stuck my hand up inside the blower housing and found another dead mouse and debris. So, always look for the second mouse. Thanks again.
Thank you guys sooooo much for this video! I have the same vehicle with the exact same thing going on. I am knowing what to expect since I live in the country and I have seen the spare passengers every now and then! Now I am ready for this 20 minutes of my life to happen to fix this issue and allow me to turn my air on past Lo and freeze the Jeep!! Thank You for this awesome video!!!
Great vid.Mine was making the same noise but now down to a tick.Huge mouse nest in glove compartment. Now I got something to go by and do it myself!! Thanks!!
just bought an 06 commander and while the ac is cold, the air flow seems constricted. i was hoping to find a cabin air filter to clean or replace. my fan is loud but only on high speed (so semi normal). thanks for showing fellow owners all the way to the motor - which is where i may be going also. and you're so right about the lack of commander diy vids! anywhere!
Bill Bosley drop the glovebox out to get to the fan. take the fan out and clean the airbox. mine had twigs and pinestraw in it. but my big problem is the blend (air) door. plenty of heat, little ac out of dash vents. it’s a dash off job to replace the blend door
Y'all ROCK !!! This video is To The Tee. Right down to the T20 torx. No mouse but a lot of leaves. Note: While you've got that blower out, reach up in there and make sure there is no other debris up there waiting to fall down and give you the same problem again very soon. It will be worth going the extra mile while you've got access to this area. Thank You SO Much ! Rock On ! (07 Commander)
AHHHHHHAHAHAA!!!!! I was NOT expecting that! Awesome video and thanks for sharing! My blower is making a noise in my 08 Jeep. Now I'm really curious as to what it is!
Thank you so much. Your video made my blower replacement so easy because it was exactly like you showed (except no mouse lol ). Btw: my Commander is a 2008.
I had a brown field mouse in mine. Also no need for anyone to remove the glove box. After removing the kick panel, one can access all necessary screws, and remove the blower without an issue. Did mine in a little over 5 minutes.
My blower went out; 20 degree day. Your video popped up. Looks simple, but dang it's cold out. Took it to mechanic. 20 minutes and out he comes holding dead mouse with pliers. I about peed myself! Just like in your video!! Total cost Zero dollars.
Mine just started doing the same thing. So now I have something to look forward to 🐁 I don't think it's going to be a small one lol thank you for the video.
You guys are a great team and this is an awesome video Thanks so much for taking the time to do this Gonna be doing this on my 08 Commander in a few minutes.
Thanks for the video. FYI I had the same noise so before you go on eBay and order one remove the blower first and verify you don't have leaves in it like I did. You may have leaves or it may be broken!!
Thanks for the video! Made the job a whole lot easier considering there is no Haynes book available for make and model. And mine wasn't caused by a mouse lol. Bearings went out in motor and the resistor was also bad.
We have become so proficient in this procedure we can do it in about 20 minutes. Apparently Jeep Commanders eat mice for breakfast. One time there were 3 mice in the blower. I would love to figure out how they are getting in there and put in some sort of screening.
Thanks for the video, Just bought 08 Commander and it was working fine then hear little noise and no blower motors on any settings. Will try to see if i have any mouse lol.
Turn on the blower. All that and you skipped the blower sounds. Smh. Thanks for the video I'm thinking theres a rat in mine too Maybe I should.do a video
My zone flap inside the blower broke off and was just sitting on top of the blower inside. Open the bottom and just shove the flap in the spot it can go for outside air and forget about it. Air blows, ac recycles inside air, if i want outside air i roll the window down lol. Works tho.
Just think of the ride you gave that mouse the first time it was in there and you turned the fan on high! It was flying around in there like the ride at the fair grounds. You should wear a mask when doing that just in case; hanta virus is all over the country now.
Thank you !!! You guys helped to replace my blower motor. Very easy
Saved me a lot of money!!!

That's one job that you can be thankful for the cold weather. Imagine doing that on a hot, humid summer day.

Had this problem for about 1 year, never put it on high because of this noise.
Thank you. Found a lot of lint and debree

My blower is vibrating to you turn it up 2 and you can feel it though the steering wheel
Thank you for the video! I had a problem with the recirc air flap and was unsure how to get to it. You're video helped a lot!!!
Thank you so much. Your video made my blower replacement so easy because it was exactly like you showed (except no mouse lol ). Btw: my Commander is a 2008.
Saved me so much money and time. Thank you so much!
It's why we did it
Thanks so much guy! PEOLE NEVER NEVER MAKE Videos on jeep commanders🤙🏿
I had a brown field mouse in mine. Also no need for anyone to remove the glove box. After removing the kick panel, one can access all necessary screws, and remove the blower without an issue. Did mine in a little over 5 minutes.
Thanks for letting me know
Thanks for putting this out there! Mine had a piece of plastic with a bunch of tar stuck to it putting the fan out of balance.
Thank you so much , I had the same problem , but a different mouse.
😂😂
My blower went out; 20 degree day. Your video popped up. Looks simple, but dang it's cold out. Took it to mechanic. 20 minutes and out he comes holding dead mouse with pliers. I about peed myself! Just like in your video!! Total cost Zero dollars.
Thank you for the video, This is exactly what mine was doing this week. IT was an easy fix that saved a lot of money I am sure. Poor little mouse.
TY for the info, it was exactly the problem.
Thanks guys. My 07 just started this today. With a bad smell.
Mine just started doing the same thing. So now I have something to look forward to 🐁 I don't think it's going to be a small one lol thank you for the video.
Watched this vid while it was hot as hell in Florida
You guys are a great team and this is an awesome video Thanks so much for taking the time to do this Gonna be doing this on my 08 Commander in a few minutes.
Thank you JC!
Super helpful. Had a mouse in mine and got him out! Works great.

The blower motor needs some lube and a good cleaning. I'm happy the fan's run nin g at 3 speeds. Reister is good motor is turning
Thank you for this video. I had a mouse too and fixed it myself ...with your help
This is a common problem in the Commander. Be sure to test it before putting it all back together. Might be another mouse further inside.
Great video, saved me a lot of money:))
I just pulled mine apart and found one in mine looked just like that and made the same sound
We have become so proficient in this procedure we can do it in about 20 minutes. Apparently Jeep Commanders eat mice for breakfast. One time there were 3 mice in the blower. I would love to figure out how they are getting in there and put in some sort of screening.
Agreed
You guys are awesome
Thank you. Our followers and viewers are just as awesome.
Thanks for the video, Just bought 08 Commander and it was working fine then hear little noise and no blower motors on any settings. Will try to see if i have any mouse lol.

Susan lee can you tell me where the cabin filter of my jeep commander 2006 4x4 is located
One behind the driver side tail light.
Turn on the blower. All that and you skipped the blower sounds. Smh. Thanks for the video I'm thinking theres a rat in mine too
Maybe I should.do a video

I have had 2 mice get caught in the fan. How do they get in?? I would like to block them. They made a nest in the glove compartment also. I hate mice!
Thanks so much. I had a mouse in mine too.
What type of screws are those what do I need to remove it?
Torques screw t20 , shaped like a 🌟
@@susanlee6893 thank you I appreciate the reply
Your car did exactly what mine does sometimes when starting it. About to turn over then dies. Have you figured out why?
Geno no I haven't yet.
Great job. Helps a lot.
I think I got a passenger as well lol.. Same noise same debris....
Good vídeo thank you guys 👍
Mine would have been on facebook the whole time.
Awwe shit. My heater just started making this exact noise.
Oh Lord the mice are at it again.
@@susanlee6893
Lol, what is it with them and these Jeeps? Thanks for the video hope it'll pretty much be the same for an 08'

This happened 2 years ago.
somebody feed the dog
Ha Ha Ha Thanks guys! Talk about a "rat on a wheel" LOL
You should know when mice die in your car.or there is something wrong with your nose.
Holey shit i found 5 stuck in mine no wonder it smelt like shit lol
Seriously? You make a video on a repeat then don’t show us the fixed repair? How stupid was that?!?!?!
