I ordered the part, which arrived sooner than I anticipated, and took the door panel off, installed the handle and put it back together again. GREAT VIDEO. Works like a charm. Thanks ZThrasher!

What is the size of the push washer?
So is the material of the new handle better than the original or about the same? Just don't want to have to replace these every so often.

while you were pressing down on the washers you could see all kinds of play so my guess is the handle won't be flush.
al dee you would guess incorrectly. The handle sits flush and the additional screws with washers help to further secure the handle.
