My ac 2 days ago was working very fine but then starts loose power air blowing and sometimes stops and starts itself but not fully power like once I own mk4 tdi golf
I got a 1998 toyota sienna and at times I have power issues to my AC and heater control. I have to smack the area where the blower motor is and other parts to get it to come on . Why does it do this ?
Mine does the same thing its a toyota as well, the fan speeds dont work and it doesn't blow anything, but when you tap underneath the dashboard it turns on.
i have a problem my blower motor is on speed 5 but after a while slows down to 3 by itself. Then after a min speeds back up to 5. would this be the resistor or blower?
So here is my issue. I have a. 2012 Ram 1500, ac was working as it should very cold I might say then I started smelling wires burning and the ac stopped blowing cold air. The heater works and all blower speeds work. Is it possible condensation found it’s way to a wire connection and cooked it? Just trying to get ideas before I start taking the dash out. Thank
Could be bad pressure sensor or heater core temp sensor. One of those could be the culprit. You’ll need to do more research for your specific vehicle to see if it has those and if they fail often.
The blower motor is pulling more amps than what the resistor is rated for. Not enough to pop a fuse but enough to make the wiring get warm. Only thing that should get warm/hot to the touch is the resistor itself.
My 02 muatang needs either a new blower motor in general or new resistor....ill probably replace both given age of the car.....smell of burning plastic only when the air is on is a fantasic smell 😂
I have a question more than a comment, my A/C works only on hi so I purchased a new resistor, pulled out the old one put in the new one and I get nothing? It doesn't even come on an any speed?? any suggestions as to what the problem is?, I did notice that the connector did have a small burn on it and I have not replaced it yet, do you think that could be the problem as to why the new one doesn't work at all? Believe it or not I have replaced it with 2 different new resistors and gotten the same result....nothing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks
I replaced the resistor and the blower motor, and still having the same issue!! The all of a sudden one day about 3 months later it started working… go figure!! 😮

sounds like a clutch or compressor for the ac unit. lots of vids on youtube check them out!

If you are only blowing warm air, then you have a bad blend door motor . The blend door motor is what controls the climate of your vehicle.
Cheaper prices on eBay for resistors
What if ac just runs will not cut off until you turn the vehichle off

Thank you so much for this information
Can the wiring for the resistor get hot? If so, what would be the resolve?

@@charlesfields7908 Thank you it makes a lot of sense. Have a Great day.

You probably figured it out by now but burning smell is definitely the resistor.
