That’s how I feel as a dude. I actually love wearing feminine clothes like skirts and cute underwear and doing makeup and hair. But I know I’m a dude, I have a strong and passionate personality, love to take charge, be physically active and I’m still sexually attracted to women and have absolutely no desire to be in a woman’s bathroom. Unfortunately for me though, femboys are much more taboo than tomboys and there’s almost no way I can embrace these interests without being labeled trans or gay. People seem to think the two are inseparable but they’re really not. Gender norms and standards are really the problem.
You are just being you. In my opinion we are all in spectrum; even we are physically male or female, we all possess in a degree qualities, personalities and characteristics of both genders. I am a female, but growing up i was a tomboy, now that I am older I realized that I have a lot of male characters like being firm, frank, independent, practical and passionate. Such a respectful conversation. Even though some of the terms weren't quite accurate, still it was nice to see people on opposite sides still agreeing on most things.
another thing with gender-neutral bathrooms; society seems to always label the mother as the primary caregiver of the child and forget about the single parent fathers who have to take their little girl into the men's because they don't have a baby station as its apart of the woman's section. To be fair, the words gender and sex have been used over the years synonymously so there isn't really a vast difference between the two because they are very interrelated, you can't have one without the other, so gender expression roots from sex anatomy that's why it's hard to seperate the two.
@@kgabomolele3346 that’s not true, gender is a made up social construct which sits in once brain and identity. Sex is biological and determines certain things as medical care.

Am I the only one that believes gender and the way you present yourself physically and your interests aren't tied to together? I think this is what confuses a lot of people. Like the trans man in the video said - he was a little girl who wanted to shop only in the boys section. Okay, but does that mean you aren't a girl at all. Does that mean that women who dress traditionally masculine are actually men by that logic? Instead of, "I'm a boy who likes to wear pink and have long hair." It's suddenly, "I'm a boy who like girly things, so I must actually be a girl and need to become one so I can acceptably interact with these things." I think it's evident that these labels are dangerous for mental health.
"When a girl is raised and she feels like a tomboy, acts like a tomboy, she is now encouraged to think, 'maybe I should've been born a boy.'" sis i would never wear skirts when i was little for the sake of being tomboyish and i can tell you with 100% certainty that i am definitely a cisgender woman

Your personality is how you act and how you feel about different things or actions. Your gender is associated with reproduction. There are four genders. The two main genders (male and female) are normal. But there can be a mutation that can give you both male and female parts, or no male or female parts at all. No offence to anybody but “genders” like trans, fluid, gay and spirited are not real genders and are associated with how you feel about yourself and other people.
Gay is not a gender. It's an orientation. Gay man identify as man but they are attracted to men. But I can agree gender it's not an entire personality on its own, because you're way more than your part of the spectrum or your expression... Just like, (maybe a bad example) if you're vegan that's ok, that's part of who you are/want to be, but being the "stereotypical vegan" all the time is not your whole personality, you're a unique human being not only based on one characteristic. Fascinating that no one from either side covered that gender is (literally) the way that an individual identifies and sex is based off of chromosomes. To be fair, the words gender and sex have been used over the years synonymously so there isn't really a vast difference between the two because they are very interrelated, you can't have one without the other, so gender expression roots from sex anatomy that's why it's hard to seperate the two.

@@JayAKATheOzianPress no.. the entire point of being non binary is not falling into gender roles/rules or perception. it’s literally just not identifying with anything which doesn’t make it a gender.
@@fawnxx.9231 the whole point is that gender is a spectrum. if you don't see non binary as a gender then male and female aren't genders either. if you see non binary as a gender then there are multiple genders. non binary is not a BINARY gender and it most certainly IS NOT the third gender, as many people call it, but if you tell an enby what their gender is, they won't tell you "i don't have one" they'll tell you '"i am nonbinary"
This was surprisingly respectful and at the end of the day shows both sides are more similar than we think and it's mostly only misinformation about the other side's desires that drives us back
People often confuse genders with personalities.
Could you please explain me the difference?

Hamesan Syiem I don’t think that being afraid about your loved ones possibly rejecting you just for coming out and being yourself just automatically makes you a “wuss.” It’s a genuine thing to be concerned and worried about, and if you were put in that situation yourself and didn’t react in a similar manner, I suspect you must not sense any emotion at all
Miguel Hernandez it’s called empathizing and relating to people from various backgrounds, finding a common thread.
I wish they would have touched on gender dysphoria. It seemed like the cis people thought gender was always just something you felt and not an actual diagnosis for many.
Also I'd love to see the whole uncut version. These short episodes always seem to cut at the parts where I want to hear the other side's response.
TheVeganWolf I also wish they talked more about chromosomes because even then there’s no binary you may have extra Xs or Ys or you May be born with a binary that doesn’t match you physically :(
Ayyy vegang
Exactly, if they wanna talk science but they dont even know what gender dysphoria is then they're clearly uneducated on the topic
what is probably the majority of trans people say there's no need for dysphoria to be trans, that you don't even need to transition. Just say you are a man/woman and you are.
***normal people
Girl no, I am pretty tomboy and feel no pressure at all to transition FTM lol
Same, im a very girly femboy, and it doesnt pressure me into transition MTF, i dont want to change a single bit about my body, i just have interests that are rather typically feminine and crossdressing. I know my gender from my pants 💀💀

Im late but i wished they included an indigenous person who held onto indigenous values pre colonization, such as "two-spirit". That would have been the most interesting part of the video in my opinion.
"Two-spirit" meant those who were gay not non-binary. This has already been disproven long ago
Your sex is your anatomy, your gender is who you really are, your personality is how you act, think about that

Climate scientists or people who believe climate change vs. people who believe climate change is a hoax
That would be hard to find, because most people who are called climate change deniers, don’t deny climate change but do think that the recent push towards “stopping climate change/ stopping emissions” which we cant because its always been happening and co2 is good for the environment, is a complete scam. When al gores predictions (who said similar things like all ice caps will melt in a few years etc) haven’t come true and then these plans like green new deal are filled with insane ideas than people start to get skeptical
Rockstarburner Read any Fox News comments. Unfortunately, there are still too many.
It’s pretty hard to argue with science (especially when the “climate change is a hoax” people have probably never graduated high school).
Michelle Appiah I agree that it’s real I just wish that people would stop exaggerating it like people saying the world will end in 8 years and that people are dying because of it
@@rockstarburne al gores predictions did come true...
That long pause from the last two before walking forward on "I would support my child if they were trans" is absolutely telling, and I truly hope they never have a trans kid. If they do, I hope their kid doesn't see that moment of this video before coming out, because I cannot IMAGINE being a kid thinking about talking to your parents, and seeing that hesitation.
I respect the consistency of the lady in the mustard sweater. I think she represented the traditional views well. I was happy to see her comforting the person on the side of her. :)

@@GeometryDashDyno She clearly avoided the word 'woman'

girl i could not imagine how awful the woman felt when she got told she was "100% male" that would be so triggering for dysphoria
edit: hey if yall come across peiple who are blatantly transphobic; saying stuff like hes a man jn regards to the trans woman, its better to just ignore it. if you're gonna debate do it with those who aren't bigots, its not worth it to interact. ive been doing lgbt discourse for three years, and its just my advice.
@Anastasia Popa oh yeah i completely agree, theres no way to change biology, but the woman couldve definitely worded it better. i was just trying to point out that its a rude thing to say
Exactly, transgender people experience so much dysphoria every day and have to still live with the gender they were born with every time they use the toilet, visit the doctor etc. It’s so sad that even in public where there is no need to bring up biology, they have to be told that. I understand that the woman just expressed her opinion and didn’t want to be rude or offensive and I actually kinda agree with what she said there but it really must have hurt
Facts don't care about your feelings. If you are male but you don't want to be, the truth is that you are still male.

Fascinating that no one from either side covered that gender is (literally) the way that an individual identifies and sex is based off of chromosomes. Sex has fewer containers of possibility (male, female, intersex, etc). Gender expressions and identities could be as numerable as the amount of human beings on planet earth. There's no inherent cap on that.
Pure ideology, not fact.
Why aren’t there any traditional males.?
Cause that would be too much of a controversy here, it's likely they believe that traditionally straight males would be less open to true conversation.
They do, just a very confused male

meanwhile biologist, people who actually study chromosomes, psychologist, sociologist, and anthropologist are sitting there like:
who's gonna tell them sex is a spectrum and gender literally depends on the society. we just happen to live in one that primarily relies on two binary genders. 😬
like a lot of this stuff isn't set in stone so its weird that she tries to be scientific then proceeds to spew something that scientist would disagree with.
@@jae3004 Sex is not a spectrum. Gender is.
And NO, the words are not interchangeable.
@@fahrenheit2101 I mean you can disagree, but it's a fact. Look it up. If sex wasn't a spectrum we would only have XX and XY and people would always have the secondary sex characteristics of those chromosome patterns. A simple google search and a look though a scientific/academic database will show you.
@@jae3004 I did look it up. The sex spectrum is not so much a spectrum and completely unrelated. I even acknowledged the minority that do have gene disorders. This is entirely unrelated to the topic of the video and is not a spectrum in the same way, more like a set of categories. And 99% of people fall into 2: XX and XY.
Edit: Nevermind I acknowledged that in a separate comment.
loved this conversation. in most of the others there are people who talk over others and scream and just desagree . this one s different
I wish when the director read the statements, the people were blindfolded and couldn't see who is walking to their seats. I think sometimes people are pressured to agree with a statement because they don't want to be the only one who is left standing
Lindsey Kar they might have trouble getting to their seats tho, maybe just have them close their eyes and step forward, then open their eyes and walk to the seats
agreed and watching them try to birdbox to the chairs would be funny. could also do it where theyre blindfolded, standing next to their chairs and only those who agree sit down. or raise their hands or something
I pretty sure if they were blind folded they wouldn't able to see where they were walking at all and if they signed up for this, to have this conversation than I doubt they would change their opinion on whatever topic is being discussed.
This is some psychological term where people tend to make decisions or their thought process changes bc they want to be percieved as likeable while they are in public while their personal opinions and actual actions are hidden/not mentioned. I think the last one - would you support your child if they were trans - was a good example of this. I think the long hair white girl and the black woman only sat down bc everyone else sat down.
@@turnipswillneverhurtyou3934 if you want to move forward you remove the blindfold and you can't take it back.

They are both 100 percent human thats all that matters!
As a cis gender female, I don’t understand why people are so obsessed with other peoples genders/sexuality’s. Like, can you just let people live?
I do care when it's a man who enters the women's bathroom.
And plus, I do have the right to tell people they are wrong.
coco réglisse AHAHAHAHA what’re you gonna do? Peek under the stall to take a look at someone’s genitalia? Guaranteed you’ve been in a public bathroom with a trans person before and you didn’t know it.
coco réglisse do you really think that a trans woman is just gonna peek on every girl and show everyone they she used to be a man. Trans women are just going to mind their business and get out of their as soon as possible because they don’t want people like you to judge her and tell her that she is still a man. Grow up
I don't think it is fair to women in sports to have to compete against people who have a biologically based unfair advantage.
Nathan Hunter there are quite a few articles you can read about that. Athletes who are trans have to go through rigorous testing due to this and even have less testosterone than biological women sometimes. Go research more
This is so terrifying to see so many people on these comments still out there who cannot just adjust to people who are different than them And so they mock/bully/mistreat/ disrespects.
