N_SlimeGamer slimy king It’s a reference to an episode where Spongebob draws a perfect circle by drawing an entire human face, then erases everything else.
Not that it matters any more, but maybe they at least had a copy / paste functionality to speed up some of the process. There probably was a lot of coding on paper and transcribing it to the machine - still a slow process.
I think that the unused Dedede sprites in Dreamland was that the king would jump into the ring only to realize that the spotlight meant to be on him was on Kirby instead.
What about the original Kirby game on the nes not Kirby’s adventure I mean the first one called Kirby he could not swallow things but he could spit out many ⭐️’s (stars) and it was made by miyamoto (Mario & Zelda 8 bit style)
Stranger still, is that there's actually a (major) american vacuum brand named "Kirby". I like to think that it was 50/50 John Kirby and Kirby vacuums, that inspired the name.
I always love hearing about the Beta in Kirby games especially! Since there's usually a lot of removed assets and abilities or being very vastly different from their final releases. Awesome job!
@MarioFan587, TheMasterGamer No you are wrong because before Adventures of Lolo appeared, there was a series called Eggerland which is actually the original series. Sorry for my bad english because I am German
"Kirby is made to be easy to draw" "He was originally going to punt enemies into other ones" Waddle dee I drew in ibis paint: Why do I hear gourmet race?
A great episode as I expected! :D Just two minor mistakes: First, Kirby's basic sprites in Kirby's Adventure are exactly the same ones from Kirby's Dream Land, just recolored and with a bunch of new animations. They're the same size. Kirby Super Star for the SNES does have bigger Kirby sprites, though. Second, the "unused" Kirby's Dream Land Title Remix is used in Kirby's Adventure. It's the last song on the Sound Test, wich you get by beating it 100%. It isn't used anywhere else in the game, tough. And it gets glitch after the first loop. My guess is that this was the first song coded into the game, probably as a test.
They aren't the same sprite, but they are the same size, the original sprite used in adventure actually has a different design compared to dreamland's sprite, more than just a color change, look up the sprites and you will see the difference
Vincent when kirby has no copied power and is standing, it's the same sprite from Dreamland (the one which shows both of his arms), and when he has a power it's a different one which only shows one of his arms. And except for the two falling animations, the walking animation and IIRC the ducking animation all other animations are new like flying, swimming, etc

I think the unused Kirby title theme can be found in the unlockable sound room. Still counts as unused, of course. And when I heard it back when I was a kid, I was hoping this meant that Kirby's Dream Land might be an unlockable game.
22:07 "Unused, Final" See now, this bothered me when I saw it. I mean, it's not confusing or anything, but it just looks weird. You're talking about TWO different UNUSED rooms, and you put "unused" for the one unused room, and "final" for the unused room we saw earlier on. That looks weird because I feel like "Final" should be reserved for things that were put in the FINALIZED version of the game, and not used for "finalized" versions of unused content. That final in my opinion should say something else, or the "Unused " should say "Early unused."
Hooray, a new video! Also, 512 kilobits is only 0.064 megabytes. An old floppy is 1.44 megabytes for comparison. I think you meant to say kiloBYTES. A gameboy cartridge was commonly 512 kilobytes.
30:10 Additionally, if you play this song long enough, an instrument permanently drops out. And like the rest of the series, you can find the unused track(s) in the Sound Test.
I think that the unused sprites for Dedede were supposed to be used when he was defeated, because bosses typically explode in some way or form (at least a little) when you beat them, and the darkness was likely soot on his face from the explosion, or something like that.
Ok, so Mario is named after a landlord that helped Nintendo of America and Kirby was named after their lawyer. So, who were Link and Samus named after?
