Back then a release was final so you have to beta test as hard as you can before shipping, now is possible to download and install a patch to fix something on the game, I guess developers are some how spoiled because of this
Also when Nintendo finds glitches they tend to fix them like in Skyward Sword that a game breaking glitch had to be patched and Nintendo released a fix for that as soon as they could. They did decide to leave in glitches I think for the Legend of Zelda remake though since those glitches were fun to use. They seem to be targeting glitches that ruin rather than enhance gameplay so I personally like them a lot because of that.
In the early 2000's videogames were updated by just fixing the stuff on them and then putting those new patched versions on the store shelves as a replacement to the old versions, take for example the Grand Theft Auto games, Vice City got rereleased as some lines offended Cubans and Hatians so the new version removed any line that could offend them

Those unused songs are SO Soyo Oka omg. I'm a big fan of her work and this makes me very curious about the kind of work she put into her SNES music. For instance, I wonder whether these unused songs are early compositions. They bear a resemblance to the battle music and to Mario Circuit, but most of the other tracks in the game seem to use the soundfont in a different way... at least to my ears. Thanks for this video! I believe we're overdue for GREAT kart games aside from just Mario Kart (as much as I love it to death) in similar respects to the days of Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong's racing, and my all time personal favourite Crash Team Racing. Imagine if the Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy did amazingly well financially, we could get Crash Team Racing remade as well ... along with a faithful Spyro Trilogy remake. That would be nice.

Maybe it's because the rom can self destruct if attempted to be ripped (i think that's the reason but i don't know if it's true)

Now I know that player 1 always starts of in last place at the start of the first race but in the prototype maybe it was random, or maybe it was another value, who knows?

I believe we're overdue for GREAT kart games aside from just Mario Kart (as much as I love it to death) in similar respects to the days of Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong's racing, and my all time personal favourite Crash Team Racing.
Imagine if the Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy did amazingly well financially, we could get Crash Team Racing remade as well ... along with a faithful Spyro Trilogy remake.
That would be nice.
Z-Nitro Crash Nitro Kart was the bomb! Though it feels like MK8 copied a little, like with antigravity and different voices for some characters (Ex: Crash & Iggy Koopa).
