Nice intro, Beta! Also, I loved how ou covered so much of the things in the beta of the game in such great detail in a runtime of only 24:00 minutes! Great work on this new addition to the Beta64 series!
+Beta64 Why don't you cite the people that actually find the stuff? You know, the people who made the entire TCRF page that you basically just read off in this video
Hope fully they do, I believe it's a new game every 3 years, LBP (2008) > LBP2 (2011) > LBP 3 (2014). So they'll either release a new game this year or next year for a 10 year anniversary of the 1st game.
You said the lava material was unobtainable, but it's actually used as the tongue for the snappy plant object I forget the name of. Just break it off and dehazard it. The only problem is it can't be smeared as a materiap, but I'm nearly certain you can change that by cutting a shape out of it.
+Beta64 Yo Beta! I have to tell you something about the Lava texture seen at 21:21 I had a friend that I used to play on PS3 with who either managed to glitch the game or pulled the lava texture from the files and had the lava texture saved and was able to use it at anytime. It was a block I think because I don't recall being able to take the sticker off of it if it was one, and it glowed like lava and it was pretty cool. You were able to touch it in the game so it was most likely just supposed to be a texture, maybe to be used in that one Savannah where everything was on fire. So maybe it was just supposed to fire and embers or something along that line. I would have loved to show it to you, but unfortunately my PS3 had a motherboard malfunction and my hard drive was lost, so the lava texture was lost too. Sorry man, but at least you got some info relating to it :)
Wow, this is apctually pretty interesting. From a 2D yellow headed dude with premade physics puzzle levels to 3D sackboys with custom made freedom platformer levels that anyone can create.
The actual block doesn't exist in the menu. You have to either get it from a glitched items level or from certain objects. I can't remember which object had the block on it, but if you dehazard something and remove the block from a piston I think, you can save it to your inventory. I'm assuming this is what you meant?
while the lava material was never properly implemented it is still in the game. one of the enemies from the Savannah stages had a flaming ball that would come out of its mouth, Un-hazarding the ball and disconnecting it from its piston in create mode would reveal a piece of lava material that could be captured and saved in the my objects tab, it wasn't actually hazardous and pretty much acted like sponge material (I don't remember if it could be grabbed or not)
Another thing is if you were to un-hazard the fire in the forest wildfire level, it turns out some of it is the lava material. I was able to do this by getting a copy of the level from Genrist. also the material can not be grabbed, and I've heard that the material is called Orrible for some reason.

thank you so much Beta this is by far my favorite video you made. as a littlebigplanet fan i love stuff about the beta, i grew up with a ps3 and i played littlebigplanet every day and i still do. Littlebigplanet is a game were you can do anything with no limits besides when you fill up the moon but its a wonderful, joyful master piece.
Wow, this game really came a long way. This made me realize how much more could have been done, but also how much I appreciate what we got. The original team were skeptical about how much the creative aspect would sell, but thankfully, Sony encouraged it - Which ended up producing easily one of the greatest game series I've ever played. Some things I noted: -I can see why they had to go for a less 3D approach, while I've always thought it would be cool, it would obviously be much harder to implement. And giving the game more defined limits allowed them to concentrate that much more on what they had. -I'm kind of broken up about the Ice Hazard being ommited. I never realized how badly I wanted that. Might try to approximate it in LBP3 later. If there's one thing LBP3 has over the other games, it's creative power... -It's incredible how refined and streamlined the finished product became. Especially the create mode. The original concept - while interesting and more hands on - would have been unbearably restrictive and tedious compared to what we got. -One more thing I'll add is that it's incredible how LBP has and hasn't changed over 3 games. It's gotten more features, content, and added details, but the fundamentals of the game have largely endured. Even the appearance is basically the same as always, barring maybe some graphical improvements over time. Other games are not so consistent, while still improving. I understand LBP3 had its fair share of flaws, but those could have been avoided if the game had more time to develop. But overall, I think the simultaneous explanation and consistency of the gameplay is testiment to how strong and well constructed the games core structure always was. I thank the LBP team for making the series what it is - One of the greatest and most unique games to ever exist. And thank-YOU for uncovering the process of how it got there. It was fun to watch...
HOLD IT! You said that the trailer with the controller screen was shown in 2011. HOWEVER, LittleBigPlanet 2 was released in 2011. Hmm... Also, the last boss is called The Collector, btw.
LBP deploy is out. Over 2000 levels along with assets dated back as early as late 2006. BBQ bot, 4 scrapped LBP1 zones are there, cyclops texture. There are levels in a folder called "milestone_3" even though that was before June 2006. You need to mod it in order to access the other levels. English seaside has stuff that uses 12 layers. Looking forward to a revised version of this or an episode for another LBP game.
Ladies, gentlemen, Everyone. I am so sorry that we had to end this beautiful era on such a bad impression. We will always have the memories, the screenshots, and eachother.
Not many people probably know/remember this, but the Wise Owl song was actually used in an existing level in the spin-off LBP game Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves called Inside Big Rex. In this level you basically got eaten by a giant T-rex (which also is the final boss of the game), and the level takes place inside his body with Sackboy finding his way out again. It didn't have the beautiful flute the track used to have, but it still has the peaceful ambience which sort of fits the level in a weird way. Just wanted to point this out. Would've actually love to see more out of this track in the main LBP 1 game, it's so unfortunate that they scrapped the Japanese Window level, since I think it really would've suit a level with that style.

Hey pretty late, but a bit of extra information. I remember coming across an article about LBP in a book on game design I bought a long time ago, and in it were level concept sketches detailing two unused levels: one where players would ride on ants across spiky cactuses and have to avoid being eaten by ant-eaters, and another set in graveyard which ended with a boss fight against a luchador, who was beaten by pulling out the pins keeping his pants up. The cactus level also included a path which was specifically only openable by eight(!) sackboys working together, by pushing over a heavy stone pillar.

After watching every Little Big Planet video ever made, I’ll never stop playing this amazing video game franchise!
Ladies, gentlemen, Everyone.
I am so sorry that we had to end this beautiful era on such a bad impression.
We will always have the memories, the screenshots, and eachother.
😭
A screenshot of that was in my LittleBigPlanet manual.

Wow that’s super interesting. I never got to play Prehistoric Moves and idk how to get it.
@@zookajoe2271 Well at far as I know, it was included as a free, extra game with LBP 2. I am not sure if there is another way to get it.
Heheh I really like the design at 3:34. So pudgy! Awesome video, I always enjoy seeing beta elements of games.
I will truly keep this franchise in my heart forever and ever.
Also, the unused parappa cosyume might just be the one sackboy uses in Playstation Alstar Battle Royale

+LordDigital12 You mean Sefearith?
+Marisa Nya nya?
+LordDigital12 i Thought i miss heard it at first.
I don't know how somebody could do that by accident. They sing his name in every version of his song!
14:07 listen closely to the music in the background, it's sounds like the singer is saying "nutshack"
10:59 you can see a early version of the "Toro Inoue" costume, which was released as DLC later in the game.
Beta64, thank you for covering this game. LBP2 was my first game ever and I grew up with the series. It's exciting to see how my nostalgia was made 😋
6:49 this stuff was WAY better than the final version
20:39 That's actually used in the game as the picture for the projectile in the army object you obtain.

RIP lbp forever
21:42 I think I actually saw the clapper board and the director outfit in the PSP version, as there was a 30's Hollywood-Esq level sometime after the snowy hills level. (it's been a long time but I played the game religiously when it came out.) You should check out the PSP version when you have a chance. It was way different than the PS3 version.
Great video, thanks for making it! I learned so much, and am reminded how much I love this game. Hope LBP4 shows up someday….
man this game was good, it was almost my entire childhood. I’m glad that a new one is coming out
5:54 "Dreams, my friend!"
Means something? Maybe.
Yeah he friend with dream undertale
Fun Fact: Only the name of the game from Craftworld to LittleBigPlanet changed, as the name of the world LBP is set in is named Craftworld.
Fun fact: I believe that the ice cream truck sticker actually is in the tutorial for the LittleBIGPlanet Demo.
5 years later and this is still my favorite LBP video.
Littlebigplanet is the most creative game you will ever see, you can LITTERALY create anything that comes to your mind, and that's why it's on of my favorite franchises.
At 20:01 I saw an EyeToy icon. The EyeToy is a PS2 camera accessory. This must mean that LBP was originally meant for the PS2.
10:29 The Creator? I think you mean the collector.
For some reason as a kid I called in the Creator as well
Man i loved this game so much before the surver shutdown
yo man i really love your videos so far, i'm watching through all of them right now and i just wanted to stop and let you know, that your hard work is absolutely appreciated. also, it's so freaking awesome that you used a song by Battles in this video, I love that band so much.
Can’t believe that how half of all the unused stuff like, moddeds background sounds tools and logic- and dlc… that’s cool-
New opening, and the first main character to appear is Spyro. yep, this is my favorite channel now
Spyro for PlayStation is my childhood
Creeperstorm75 Even if he has his ups and downs, you can't say anything bad about the series in general ... except for the legend series, that sucked
The only weird thing about the original PlayStation game is the cutscene animation.
It's so jerky...
Creeperstorm75 Not as bad as the animation on the original run of Dragon ball Super
10:29 *The Collector
2:55 the one yelling PLEASE MAKE ME BEAUTIFUL looks a bit like Gir in his disguise
What is the book called????????????
Hey, thanks!
@@stuffedanimalwars7692 Sorry, Animal Wars! Didn't see your comment back when this was posted! The book was... "Inside Game Design" by Ian Simons, from Laurence King. Cool book.
Thank you!

Girl - yay we won
Boy - Yeeet
22:34 they used that as the symbol for the enemy brains in create mode.
Damn your intro is a bit long but its cool
+DragonOnZap23 its not that long, especially considering how good it looks
+SUPERTRIP™ only about 16 seconds
+DragonOnZap23 15 seconds intro for 26 mins video is too long... you're joking right?
WHY IS IT THAT PEOPLE MANAGE TO TAKE MY COMMENT IDEAS
wielkus 15 Seconds for an intro.
8:09 certified deviantart moment
At 2:57 the art also shows yellow head's head would be able to be squished kinda like the tree physics in the final game.
They absolutely need to bring back Little big planet these games were absolutely amazing
