    Hello friends!
Welcome to a basic, beginner-friendly tutorial for how to seal a completed diamond painting. My process is pretty quick and simple, and my favorite part is that it doesn't dull the sparkle and shine of my diamond paintings! This is the perfect way to protect your canvas from losing any diamonds that are prone to popping or falling off, and works whether you're planning to display your painting or store it away.
Note: For some diamond painting companies, sealing your diamond painting may void the warranty. If this is something that you're worried about (which, once you've completed your kit, you may not be) be sure to check the warranty information for your particular kit.

The tip for using a rolling pin was perfect. My #2 gifted diamond art was square drills, and when completed I put parchment paper over the top and used my rolling pin and what a difference….yes I heard the crunch and the drills all flat. I am 79…learning new things.

I am new at diamond painting. I've used Dura Clear gloss varnish. I love it for all kinds of crafts. I've sealed 3 total with it. It's really good stuff. It doesn't have a smell. It cleans up with water and soap. It is thinner than the brand you use. I watched a couple tutorials using it before I tried it so I knew it would work, I was happy to see it as a sealer. :)

Thank you endlessly for this excellent tutorial video. I was only diamond painting about 3 weeks when I undertook a rather ambitious crystal canvas project. As a beginner, this was probably not a good idea. But! I got through it and the result was stunning -except for the popping crystals that stuck to my palm every time I ran my hand across it 🤦‍♀️I did exactly what you said and the canvas is now sealed and ready for framing and my anxiety level plummeted. Thank you again. You’re a great teacher and I love love love your channel ❤

This alone will cause your painting to get crispy. So when u fold it it will Crack. But I made my own cocktail of mixer with 1/3 this minwax 1/8 clear glue I have a huge gallon that I just had here. And then 1/3-1/4 water n mix. It will be really watery but milky like breast milk of like skim milk lol. But i only use for rounds to cure the sticky parts inbrtween so that dirt n cat hair don't stick. But good luck. I played with a bunch of diff sealers. And things

I wasn't sure if I could seal one. I just googled it because I have 2 dogs and a cat. I already have to constantly pick hair out lol and didn't want that to happen if I hung it up not to mention like you said dust and what not. So glad I found your video right away. Helped make the decision to seal it like 1000x easier for me. I do have 1 question that maybe you've answered in other videos but do you leave the washi tape on the edges if you frame it like a canvas or in a picture frame. The sticky edges drive me bonkers. I have just masking tape on it right now while I finish the painting but I don't know what to do about them when I get to the point of hanging or framing it. Does washi tape last? Is there a better way to do it? Could I just coat the minwax over the edges a bit to cover that stickiness?

I have been using a gloss tile and grout sealer since 2020. I buy in a one litre tub from hardware and it works great. I started using the tile and grout sealer because I live in Australia and it is hard to purchase the same products other countries use, as shipping costs, and financial conversion costs mean that the products you use are quite outrageous for us Aussies, so I found my own alternative which works well. No beads pop, and finish looks fantastic.

Hmm, that's a tough question. For what it's worth, I didn't find that the sealer I used in this video pooled and spread past the edge of the drill field, so maybe if you carefully did a pretty light layer, maybe with a smaller brush at the edges, it wouldn't be an issue?
Also, if you aren't running into issues with the drills falling off, you don't necessarily have to seal your painting. Just a thought!

Thanks for the very informative video. I am working on "Rhapsody in Rose" right now, about half way done, and it is also slippery in places. I am definitely going to try the Minwax on it! It is very large, 31.5" X 23.6", square drill, my 1st square drill, and it's much more difficult for me than the round drills. There's 76,800 drills on this one. It's so big it's difficult to work on, even at my dining room table. I want to ensure that NONE of the drills ever come off and I really like this method you showed.
I also bought Rhapsody in Blue to go with it. I got this one in ROUND DRILLS so it would be easier to work with! It is also 31.5" X 23.6' with 61,204 drills. I will most likely use Minwax on this too. Both of these are for our upcoming new home, in which we plan to do a new modular or buy a ranch and renovate it within the next year. These, I think, will make great entryway pieces.
    What do you think?

Hmm… good question. I would probably try a similar method and product as the one in this video, to be honest!

Thank you Katie. I have just finished my diamond painting and the drills are slipping around. Your tutorial has been very helpful just going to search for the sealer you use

I just used Mod Podge to seal one of my diamond paintings because the drills felt loose in spots. I now have bubbles in between some of the drills even though I used a brush. I think I will try this next. Thanks for the video.
