    For the sea horse one, you could put the silver to cover and then put the orange on top of that!!
    I thought the orange really set off the colors in the sea horse!!
    I bought my first one at Hobby Lobby!
    I used to enjoy counted cross stitch and this is sort of similar.
    A few weeks ago, I was watching animal videos, with real animals and saw a video for diamond art painting! It really caught my attention!
    Anyway, my cousin's birthday is coming up at the end of April and she adores black cats.
    She got Midnight when her husband passed away. Midnight passed at the age of 13, it was shortly before Christmas. She went to the same shelter that she got Midnight at. The lady said they had on!y 2 kittens left. They were brothers.
    She went to see them. They were both all black kittens and they clung to each other.
    They told her they were set to be neutered in the morning and if she came in at 3:30 PM the next day, she could pick which one she wanted!
    I got my first kitten at age 24. By the time I was 31, I always had at least 2.
    She asked me how to chose between them!
    It would be December 23rd and someone would be left behind for a lonely Christmas Eve & Day!
    I said, why not take both?? You work allday, that will give them so.done to play with!
    Jingle & Jolly came home the next day!
    The lady told her she prayed she would take both as they were bonded. They still sleep together, lay beside her on the sofa together, and eat together!
    Anyway, I saw the diamond dots painting of an all black kitty that was called Midnight!!
    I am going to start working on it and hope it turns out as pretty as yours!

      Thank you 🥰 Jingle & Jolly are awesome names, glad they both got a loving home together. I have been wanting to get the Diamond Dotz Midnight DP for ages, enjoy your diamond painting journey...it's heaps of fun! 😀

    If you buy Eucalyptus Oil 100% from a Chemist or Supermarket, this will allow you to clean up sticky residue just by wiping a little oil with a tissue. I use often to clean my scissors, or remove sticky tape residue. I am in Australia, but am sure they also sell in USA.

    I’ve been using washi tape to frame my diamond paintings, but I’ve just been double layering it as I don’t normally use the really glittery ones, then I use the Mod Podge to seal it down.

    I use masking/washi tape to finish most of my paintings and when it comes to the more transparent tapes, I'll do them in layers. I might put a black masking tape down and then the more decorative tape over it. Sometimes I'll completely cover the tape beneath but other times I'll let the wider tape "frame" the thinner decorative tape. I've never tried the cloth tape. It did look great in the video.

    I use Washi tape at the start of my diamond paintings so the excess sticky part doesn't get dust or dirt on it while I'm doing it. I remove the Washi tape when I'm done and seal it with the same mod podge. The cloth tape is a really clever idea and I will def try it.

    Than you so much for telling me about Madge podge to use as a sealer. I bought a sealer on Amazon but’s toxic and I have put off using it. I am using blu tac instead of the wax included in the kits and like it much better. First time watching, I’ve subscribed!

    If you had painted the edges of the sea horse with a primer or white paint then can use your orange tape.

    Thank you for sharing these options. I'm curious why you didn't use cloth tape on the framed version. It left a nice straight edge on the Koi picture.

    Thanks for the ideas! I would have put the orange washi tape over the silver. That would take care of the chart showing through and the orange really made the picture pop.

  • @marshah5930

    Just curious, can you use the mod podge on the back just around the edge to help seal the fabric before you cut it so it won't fray?

    • @crystalcraftswithdee
      @crystalcraftswithdee  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you could put it along the edges to seal the fabric so it won't fray.

    Crystal I used Black duct tape in one of my Diamond paintings and on a wall with tacks and the tape lifted and the middle caved out. What do you suggest? It was a massive Diamond Art!

    • @crystalcraftswithdee
      @crystalcraftswithdee  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to use duct tape and had the same problem..it's so frustrating. That's when I started to use the cloth tape, it's super sticky and rarely lifts off. I also found that it was easier to place and didn't warp like the duct tape did 😀

  • @Andrea-vv5dp
    @Andrea-vv5dp ปีที่แล้ว

    When you do the mod podge do you have to be careful not to get it on exposed canvas in artwork like the tree you have done?

    • @crystalcraftswithdee
      @crystalcraftswithdee  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I find that the mod podge dries clear so it doesn't matter if you get it on the rest of the canvas. I don't really worry about being too careful with it. And I only do one coat so isn't visible when it dries.

    I did mine with cloth tape and they looked great - until the next day when it was coming off. Don't seem to stick to the back. I am debating trying to glue it on or just leaving it without a border. Not worth the effort if not displaying them.

    Hello I did mine with cloth tape and I was very disappointed
    that after 5 minutes later it was coming off . Are all cloth tape the same ?
    Any ideas what to do , as I like how it looks with the black border. X

      Hi, I had the same problem with one brand of cloth tape. The one that I use now is actually too sticky, once it sticks it doesn't come off. I use the Bear brand which is available in Australia, not sure if you can get it in other countries.

    Is there anything you do to get them ready before you seal them?

    • @crystalcraftswithdee
      @crystalcraftswithdee  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I use a toothbrush to brush away any debris or wax on the drills and then I use a roller to make sure all the drills are nice and flat on the canvas. Then I seal it.

    So what happens if you frame is not exactly the same size as the diamond painting?

    • @crystalcraftswithdee
      @crystalcraftswithdee  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I usually tape the canvas to the backing board in the frame using the cloth tape, or I don't tape at all and cut black cardstock and add that to the sides to make it bigger.
