Another great one is MINWAX POLYCRYLIC CLEAR GLOSS. Mrs. Crochet and Coffee recently posted a video testing it out on a rhinestone diamond painting, so I bought some and tried it on a few regular ones. None of the sparkle has been lost! And it was super helpful to learn about the Minwax because it's hard to find your 2 picks right now due to the coronavirus situation.
Thank YOU so much for this video! Before you even said it I was thinking, “She’s sacrificing that picture with all those tests!” I really appreciate all the time and effort you put in these videos. Your top ten 10 tips were great too! I’m new to this dot painting...at first I was snobbish towards it but now that I’m making “Starry night,” I’m seeing it as more of a clean type of mosaic! I bought my kit today and I’m addicted to the ease of doing a bit and coming back to it at my leisure. I do many other messy crafts and this one gives gratification without all the mess! Again thank you for your help!
epponee, hi. There are numerous of 5D diamond paintings are being sold on eBay. I’ve got a few lots from eBay, and I’ve just finished a small partial drill painting! Love it!
@@StudioSam I would love to see a framing video as well. Curious as to your reasoning behind putting behind glass vs dry mounting after sealing ;) . I haven't done either but getting ready to do!
I wanted to ask that aswell seeing that its a canvas so would you put it in a normal class frame or wrap it around a frame as a canvas would be wrapped
I was so very surprised to see the "Starry Night" diamond painting being used for the demonstration because I am about half way working on that very kit!!!!!!! Love watching it soak up all that protection!!!!!
Well here is a guy who is a mosaic artist and 87 who likes this Diamond Painting just finished my first painting that looks great and soon to try making a purse that I might want to sell-----a retired management consultant that likes using his hands now while the head is getting a little foggy----your seal presentation is good and works for me.
First time diamond painter here, still in "safer-at-home" quasi-quarantine and grateful for the advice. Many thanks for the recommendations. I have been considering framing once complete, but am not at all sure I would have considered sealing first. A wise recommendation!
Thank you so much for sacrificing that beautiful work to show us such a comprehensive assessment! You have solved my problem and I can't thank you enough!
So many years ago, but did you try using a razor Knife to remove the rows that were damaged by the glaze ? Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to replace them..@@StudioSam
Hi, I have never even heard of diamond painting until I found your channel. I love how clear and thorough you are. I wish I had learned of this craft years ago. I am living with advanced metastatic cancer and have quite a bit of pain. Maintaining one position for very long is impossible. But, I might try a small canvas and see how it goes. Your work is certainly very beautiful. How long does it take for you to complete one of your large canvases? My life can be measured in months now, weather 12 or 24. I'm afraid if I start a large one I will not be able to complete it. I want to complete some kind of craft for each of my family members in my remaining life. This is so attractive to me. Perhaps I could get a friend to help me. Sorry for my "thinking aloud." It's how I figure things out. Thanks again!
Oh my friend...I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. I think craft can be really therapeutic, and it might be great distraction for you. Smaller kits...around 30x40cm can be finished in less than a month, or even a week or two if you’re able to do a little every day. Let me know if I can help at all.
Hi I'm sorry to hear about your cancer. I do have a suggestion for you. If you go to Amazon and search for "Diamond Painting Book Marks" you will find a ton of patterns. They come in packs from 2 to 6 and they are not very expensive. They are quick and you can learn from them and make some beautiful markers. Also they will be a wonderful thing for your friends and family to have as a token of your love. Just thought I'd suggest that. God Bless!
not an expert but rather than sacrificing the facets /sparkle, why not use the sealant as a type of grout and wipe the top of the 'tiles' to clear it off before it dries?
I saw this video over a year ago when I first started Diamond Art. I am so happy that I have been able to recommend this product to so many of my friends because you. I love this product and the little orange brush I first bought is still in use after about15 large paintings. Thank you. I am sure that Mud Podge does too. Great product and great tips.
Thank you so much for this video!! I didn't even realize sealing the drills was a thing- when I googled how to finish a diamond painting (after I finished my first one a few years ago) I just got the instructions to press it for a couple days... x.x thank you so much for the comparisons, and for your sacrifice to make them!!
The deco art is my favourite. Glad it was one of the better ones. Thanks for being so thorough in your analysis! I could swear I've seen the Mod Podge brand before here (in Europe) at my local crafts store. I dont know about the others, but I could always get this stuff off Amazon if I needed it. This is very helpful. Love the glitter too! And oh it was interesting to see you use the glue too.
Thank you so so much for doing this video! I just got into diamond painting and have two I need to seal. I was lost in what to do until I found your video! I love comparison videos and you did a great job showing the shine and breaking down the pros and cons of each product. Thanks again!
I am about to start on my very first Diamond Painting that I received it as a birthday gift. So, I watched videos on how to do it and then I noticed your video on sealing your Diamond paintings. When I saw the time first thing, I thought was I'm not going to watch this whole video. But I will say it was very informative and yes, I watched the whole video. Thank you and keep up the good work. Enjoy your morning coffee..
Thank you very much for sacrificing one of your diamond paintings for the demo! I think I will be going with the mod podge super gloss to seal my painting. I agree that I am willing to give up a little sparkle for my painting to be properly protected. Thanks again from Georgia in the USA!
Thank you very much for these videos. I've been doing Diamond Art for a few months now and they are so addictive. I've framed one and given as a present. All the others are just lying on top of each other waiting for me to do something with them. I hadn't even thought about sealing them so thank you for the tips. I'll have to go shopping now :)
I'm a beginner with the diamond painting and I ADORE watching your videos. They are super informative and helpful!!! Especially being the beginner that I am. I've ordered the blu-tack. I really dislike the wax product they give you. AND I straightened my painting by adjusting the protective layer. I had no idea! WHAT a difference!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! I'll be checking in with you and your videos regularly for sure!!! Thank you again!!
Firstly - you are very relaxing to watch! I really appreciate this knowledge you have shared. I don't do diamond painting, but I do use half of the products you test here on many different things and have always been curious as to which actually is better for what. I do know from my experiences though, that if you wish to maintain a light reflective quality on plastic/glass/stone items while using triple thick or any of the liquid varnish products, you can use a slightly damp sponge - or lint free cloth - to remove the product from the top of the gems once the product has settled down into the crevices. Use warm water to dampen the cloth. This way there is no product layer to interfere with light refraction once dried. Thanks for this great knowledge, I really appreciate how much this experiment would have cost you as well.
Thanks so much! That really is a great idea...because its mainly the gaps and crevices that need sealing...the top surface could be free to reflect and shine! You're going to have to start diamond painting now!
Thanks so much for all your work on this comparison! I was really pleased to see you tried a round diamond picture as well, since I am doing one of those as my first foray into this craft. Your attention to detail and thoroughness answered all my questions. Great job!
Also thank you for including your top picks in the information of the video. That helps me find your favorites quickly, without having to scroll through the video. You're the best! -Heather (from Utah, USA)
I found this very helpful. I now have three completed diamond dotz to seal. Now I would love to see a video on how to frame my diamond dotz paintings. Thanks very much.
Hello, I'm Bonita from the UK. I recently started my first diamond painting and this is the 3rd video I've watched of yours. You seem so warm and approachable and your videos have been 'SO' informative for me and will help me make the best of my future art, so THANK YOU!👍🏾 I'm already looking forward to watching more! 🙂
Best video I found for sealing a diamond painting. Thank you so much for posting and sacrificing your beautiful Starry Night painting. I think for me the glue sealant would be a no only because it’s so small. Thanks again I subscribed and look forward to more videos!
I have just started my fist diamond art project and this video has been super helpful in helping me decide which sealant to use. Thank you for experimenting and showing a range of different products. I plan on using the mod podge super gloss now. Thank you.
Thank you for the demo. Very well done - and how generous of you to sacrifice one of your works for us. I learned a lot, and will be exploring sealing my diamond paintings with one of the products. Take care.
Thank you for doing this comparison. I've been using the tombow glue and it's expensive. I will look at the deco art one. Also some people are using elmer's clear glue. But I understand what you mean about glue yellowing over the years. It makes since to use a 'sealant'.
Hello Sam, I am new to diamond painting and I am in the process of doing my very first picture and my husband is doing one also which is fabulous for me. I want to thank you for such a useful informative video. I was so sorry that it messed your picture up as I thought it was beautiful but I have to say it was such a great test you worked on. Many thanks ~ Lady Anne (UK)
Thank you so much for making this video. I was so happy to see that the sparkle was still there after you sealed them. I was worried that it would dull the painting. Thanks again. Would love to see how to frame one behind glass or how to stretch on canvas.
I really enjoyed your video and the comparisons between the different products. I am going to try the Deco Art glaze because I like the results from it. I have the Tombow glue, but have hesitated using it. I never thought of the possibility of it yellowing or cracking. I used the Mod Podge extreme glitter and wasn't very happy with the results. It seemed like I lost some of the definition in the painting because of the glitter. Thanks so much for sharing.
I'm so happy to have found your 10 tips video and your dealing product testing video. 8 just started to do diamond painting and had a lot of questions that your videos answered. Thank you so much
I used the tombow aqua glue and have found that depending on the quality of the resins and how I apply determines how well it works. Sometimes it will dry like a crackling mesh and peel off like a snake skin. Thin coats with a paint brush in my experience have been the worst. I will try the deco art brilliant high gloss next time.
Ive had quite a few people tell me the same thing. Interesting isn't it? I think its great as a glue, but probably not really the best thing for sealing.
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for going through this for me! I wanted to know exactly this, and now I have the knowledge. I cannot tell you what an expense and time you saved me. Hope you have a lovely day!!!
Thank you so much for the very informative video. It has helped me so much. I have done 12 diamond dotz and not sealed any of them as I didn’t know what to use and how to do it. I have to send 3 over to Scotland and now I am not worried about the beads popping off. Thanks again for your wonderful video.
Thank you for this video. It was really helpful and I note have more confidence for my choice of sealer to use once I finish my daughter and son's Christmas presents 😀
Thank you! I didn’t know how to proceed and like you, I want to test all my options ... but I only have one diamond painting. For my first one, it is large - 50cm x 70cm. I was visiting my brother who lives in China and their ayi was working on one - I had never seen diamond painting and wanted to try. She got one for me on TaoBao. I have never made comments on TH-cam. I would like to send you a picture but maybe I can’t. I especially appreciate that you included the owl painting with the round stones because you anticipated all my concerns about the spaces in between. I am trying a second one with squares - a very different experience. Again, I am so grateful to have come across your video when I started my search! I am also thinking, if you have extra stones from Starry Night, and/or from other projects, you may be able to save Starry Night by gently removing the over glued sections ... and replacing the stones ... then with a small brush, seal those sections - kind of blend the sealer with those parts already sealed. Hope you are enjoying your morning coffee. I’m writing from Westport, Connecticut USA.
Oh thank you Jayne! I’m sitting here in Sydney with a big cup of tea in front of the fire. It’s so cold this morning! I would love to see what you’re working on...I dont think you can add photos here, but please tag me on Instagram (@hellostudiosam), or feel free to email me...hellostudiosam@gmail.com Ive never been to China...but would love to one day. Yes...you’re right...I could replaced those areas with good diamonds! It probably wouldn’t be too hard. I’m so pleased the video was help...and you’re hooked like me! X Sam
Thank you so much for this video. Very informative and a sensible approach to your experiments, You have saved me a lot of headaches and money trying different products to seal my diamond art.
This has greatly helped me as a beginner. I am just waiting on my supplies to arrive. I will be buying some of the mod podge super gloss. Walmart in America has it online.
I am literally doing my first diamond painting and this video came up in recommended list and I am so glad. This video has helped me so much, so thank you for doing this video and I'll look forward to a framing one as well. Thanks again, very helpful.
Thank you for all the advice you are giving for the diamond paintings. I have just received my first one in the mail and I am going to get started on it in the next couple days. I like seeing all these different advice techniques everyone has posted here on TH-cam it is very helpful for beginners. Once again thanks and have a blessed day.
super helpful video. thank you. I'm working on a large DP kit for a full wall display in my bathroom. Good to know for super gloss mod podge can be water-resistant, for shower steam, as well as easy cleanup.
Thanks so much for your video. I am looking into doing diamond paintings and thought I would start with doing a coaster set. I thought it would be a simple and small project to see if I will like doing diamond painting. I know that I would want to seal them and your video really did help me decide on which product to choose. I am getting super excited to start this new adventure. Thank you again.
Thank you for this video!! I'm brand new to diamond painting and am already hooked!! I am researching everything like a crazy person. Great to watch a fellow Australian and be able to get hold of all the products you use in your video.
Now that it has been a year or so since you sealed this, do you have any additional thoughts on how well the various sealing products have held up? Did any of them start feeling tackier over time? Have you noticed any yellowing or other color changes due to the sealers?
When you start to put the diamonds on the painting , & you're tired of doing it it which way you should roll the painting inside or out side. I loved watching your video & I want to learn more . After you sealed the diamonds why you make the Movie with the brush . Please can you tell me what size of the brush & is it nylon . What kind of vanish you applied on the paintings . Please can you give me some secret tips how can I make my painting really nice . This is my first experience of doing this , I need some help from you , I know that you love to help me . So many thanks. I'll hope I'll hear from you
FYI.. my wife has been doing 5D painting for over 3 years. We have used the mod podge super gloss- brilliant to seal the finished product. None have yellowed and the finish was brilliant, and none of the dots have separated from canvases. We have put some in a glass covered frame and the sealer does not stick to the glass if you give it time to cure. Art that we have given to friends that is not framed the dots stay in place. One caveat is that the sealer will hold onto cigarette smoke and yellow over time but that's another story. Too your question about storming your work still in progress..you definitely need to roll up with original wax paper cover you get when starting to apply diamond dots, and roll up with dots on the outside, if not you will crunch the dots and they will separate or even fall off. Have fun, be patient and you will have a nice piece of art in the end. We have bought from multiple vendors and most are pretty good in quality. FYI imo
I greatly appreciate the effort you put into this video and your very knowledgeable attention to details that could be so easily over looked. I genuinely feel that I learned so much from this video. I truly appreciate it!
Thank you so much for this comparison. It has come to me at exactly the right time as tomorrow I am buying a sealer for my latest picture and was thinking of the normal Mod Podge. I will now change that to the Super Gloss.
Hey there Sam... First off I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed watching, I am new to all this diamond painting stuff and had never seen it before about an hour ago when I was having a mouch on Amazon and it popped up, so I deceded to research what it was as I am quite an arty person and now doing a little research of what it's all about and watching videos and gathering information so I can set myself up to start doing it you have helped me with some other tips with sealing, course it just totally makes sense! 😊 I am a massive Little Mermaid Fan and as soon as I seen your piece I couldn't believe how sweet it was and loved that you did all of it with the glitter seal, I think I can kind of see how it would look, I know sometimes it's hard to see on camera but from what I could see it looked beautiful and went perfectly with it being The Little Mermaid 🧜🏻♀️ I just thought i would drop you a few lines so you knew that you had made me want to do it even more so I am going to order a kit... I don't suppose you remember where you got The Little Mermaid art from do you please? If so I would be most grateful if you could let me know, though I know it may be a little different for me as I am actually from the UK 🇬🇧 in England. Thanks again, I wish you all the best. I have liked and subscribed so I will be able to keep my eye out for future videos 👍🏻 Sorry about my longggg comment too haha, take care Natalie 😊 xxx
You make great videos! Your diamond painting tips were very helpful. Yesterday I received a diamond painting set. I didn’t know I was going to get it, so it was a big surprise for me! I started immediately and I love it! I am definitely not finished yet, I’m wondering if you have to seal it when you’re done. Once you’ve sealed it, how do you frame it? Thank you for your videos!!
I've mounted two paintings between plexiglass. If you put enough thickness (a piece of cardboard or something similar) between the back of the painting and the frame backing, there shouldn't be room at all for the diamonds to loosen and drop due to the pressure. No need for sealant at all, imo.
Any suggestions of a good affordable place online to buy frames w glass? I used to buy my frames and such from Ikea, but they've begun to only carry frames with a thin plastic cover, no longer glass.
Good morning! I hope you're enjoying a good coffee. I am about to start my first diamond painting and wanted to thank you for your tips and tricks video as well as this one. You are so fun to listen to, love your energy and enthusiasm!
Thank you so much for doing this, I’ve almost completed the one I got of my daughter, son in law and 5 wonderful grandchildren, it’s huge and through working on the whole thing I’ve wondered what I could seal it with. I know how dust is but dust can be just dusted off, and such, but if you live in a home with primarily gas to fuel all of your appliances, then you’ve got the sticky gassy dust, which for something like a diamond painting would get to the point of needing to be discarded, which for all the hours of work, I’d hate to see that happen. It’s beautiful and I want it to stay that way. It’s a gift that I’m very proud of and even though it’s a Most completed, my daughter has seen it and is loving it already. Now have you had any that’s lost it’s sticky and the diamonds won’t stick, if so, what did you use, I made the mistake of folding it, and the whole folded area is no longer sticky, I bought super glue, but that didn’t go so well, I tried tombow,, wasn’t so great either. I can try those again if that’s what you’re thinking, but I’d really like to finish this and get started on the next kids family, I’ve Already told them to not wear the exact same colors in the family photos for their diamond painting, they need to dress like a rainbow so I don’t have 500.000 diamonds in the exact same color LOL so any help would be appreciated, thank you!
Have you tried the Aleene's Tack It Over Fabric Glue this has been used and recommended by one of the diamond painting and craft channel but I can't remember the channel name. She has used it on a couple of the diamond painting kit which wasn't sticky so she used this and she said that it made the glue very sticky and the beads then stuck very well after using it after how she shows the difference before using it and after. I then have brought it just as back up incase I did ever have a canvas that didn't stick the beads but I have been lucky enough not to need it but I know that it's there if I ever do need it. If I remember the channel who used it I will add it onto as an extra comment but like I said I haven't needed it so I can't personally say how good it is but she highly recommends it and she has used it a couple of times and has been very happy with it. I hope this helps you with what you are looking for. Take care.
kelli shone do you by chance remember which video she talked about this, she has a few that says popping diamonds but not sure, mine don’t pop, they just don’t stick at all.
@@kathyesquerra2085 I have a diamond painting acting the same way and I have been using Glossy Accents on it to stick the diamonds on, it is tedious but it worked for me ...so far...haven't used any sealer yet but will be using Triple Thick...however, I have noticed that Triple Thick says no yellowing, but one year later and there is yellowing although it is not too bad as it is not on where white was placed. Has anyone else had this problem with Triple Thick yellowing?
I'm so, so happy that you've made this video! I've been searching for the right varnish for my diamond paintings for quite some time. Thank you for making this video, and sacrificing your beautiful van Gogh diamond painting for the benefit of us all!
I may not be an expert at the diamond printing as yet but I love Dawn it's a good to relax with and trust me you get so into it that you'll be on it for like hours on end I'm still working on since last year and I'm almost finished the top part of my picture and I'm yet to do the bottom one which is going to take a good month to do or half of it depends on how far as I will do it but I love doing that thank you so much for showing me this video on a way to steal my diamond printing so I can hang it up on my wall
I just recently got into diamond painting last weekend and I've already finished 2 of them. I'm hooked! I'm glad I came across your channel. You're so good at this, and thanks for making content!
wow, thank you so much for this video....I was so unsure on how to seal my diamond painting with its shine intact plus keeping the drills safe for years...Your video is so easy to follow as it is so comprehensive especially to a newbie like me. My thanks once again...🥰
I loved this and watched it all. Thank you. Do you treat your Diamond Paintings this way even if you are putting them behind glass? I was told by others that you don't - yet you seem to imply at the end of your video that you do (because you said you do use glass). I'd love to know your thoughts. Thank you. Jacqueline
I actually seal my diamond paintings with a very thin layer of Soft UV resin, and I’ve had fantastic results no bubbles, and it doesn’t lose shine or flexibility, but it does need to be the Soft resin not the hard, just a suggestion for anyone who wants to try it, I personally have had great results and it’s my favorite sealer, I’ve tried the modge podge, and wasn’t really happy, I’ve tried other glosses and varnishes as well, including spray on, but so far the Soft resin is my favorite 🥰💕
I'm so sorry, I've just seen your comment! I would love to try the soft resin. What do you apply it with that doesn't cause bubbles? I can see this would be fantastic for small projects, but have you tried it on a bigger canvas? How would you apply the light evenly to a canvas? Thanks for your idea!
@@StudioSam Not a problem at all 🥰👍🏼 I actually started with small sticker size projects, then I used it on bigger and bigger projects carefully, because I didn’t want to ruin any, but even the much larger projects have help up perfectly, even now years later 😁👍🏼 I just use a flat silicon tool, like the flat silicon face mask bushes that aren’t brushes because it has no bristles, it’s just a flat soft silicon spreading spatula-like tool, and I spread it very even and thinly with that, haven’t had an issue with bubbles yet, I just go vertically section by section, and make sure you don’t add more until you have spread what u already very very thinly till it doesn’t spread anymore, and definitely cure in sections if it makes it easier 🙂
@@Helensrz thank you! I'm so keen to try this now. I know those wide silicon brushes, I have one of those. Do you have a favourite resin brand? Do you use a regular nail lamp to cure it? Have you ever tried to cure a big one by sunlight?
I found this video super helpful, I’ve completed 2 diamond paintings and both are behind glass as I was too scared to seal them and lose any of that shine but your video has taught me a lot! Thank you!
Watching from The Netherlands. It's really helpful and the Deco Art triple thick glaze is also available over here in at least The Netherlands, but likely in whole Europe.
Studio Sam, Thank you for the help in sealings! It's a very helpful video and I'm glad I have some of the sealers right on hand! At the beginning of Covid, I started doing diamond paintings. The 4th one I am working on is a custom design and about 3 ft x 2ft. I've spent about 70 hours on it so far and have it 3/4 finished. It is the square diamonds and many are repeatedly popping out. It is now 9/17/21 and I am wondering, have these sealers and glue held up over time? Thanks again!
I paint rocks and seal them with resin. I tried putting the resin over the rhinestones and they looked like an air bubble. But if you want to try this costly project anyways, feel free. Your dime, not mine.🤷♀️ don't say you weren't warned.
Tiffany Boothe I guess you don’t have to sound so snippy about it? I paint rocks and use resin too. You are not the only one. I also make chainmaille, oil paint, do leather work and needle felt. So picking up another craft is not in my deck of cards. It was a thought. Don’t act sour over my comment. Sheesh.
*Hello, I'm a Newbie to Diamond painting. I'm watching all the videos I can to learn all there is to learn for each step of the way. I need help with framing tips and things of that nature as well. Thank you for sharing this. 😊😊😊* Sharon in SC
As a jewelry maker, I’ve used Everbrite Protectaclear to harden and seal some of my Peyote earrings. I was thinking I’d use that on my Diamond painting coasters. I definitely need something on the coasters that will be waterproof. I loved this video. Not only did you test multiple products, but your method was superb. I’m new to Diamond painting and this was very helpful. Thank you!
@@Rivercat0338 I used the brush on. But don’t use it! It muted the shine. My husband liked it that way, but it defeats the purpose. I thought it would be good because it works so well on my jewelry. But I discovered it’s not ideal for Diamond painting.
Thank You SO Much! I can not express how invaluable your style of choosing minimal products to assess the best by job. As a “newbie”to 💎 Art I’m already totally addicted. My 2 Girls & I started our own tradition a few years ago, my goal was heartfelt, heart made gifts for each other, this year after making our Christmas Cards using diamonds in a freestyle form, all of our gifts were a pleasant surprise Christmas Day as we all 3 did 💎Art for each other. I was incredibly impressed at how well they made their choices with such ❤️ & respect towards each other’s likings. My tomboy did a very sparkly high heel pink “strappy” shoe which was so far out of her comfort zone, it brought me to tears, until I saw my oldest baby’s gift to her sister which was a 45 x 60 cm square drill of Converse Tennis shoes in all colors of the rainbow. It wasn’t as far out of comfort zone, but she really went above and beyond to make her little sister happy. They both adored their gifts to each other and oddly enough, I also got shoes from both. They teamed up, each did a 4 set of partials which compliment each other and my likes perfectly. I desperately want to use in my guest bathroom. I’m hoping with the information you’ve provided I’ll be able to seal all of our gifts and we’ll all 3 enjoy them for years to come. I have always had one craft or another going on at any given time and aside from eating my baking, getting them involved has been challenging. I’m so happy to report I received requests for both to receive kits to continue their own crafting and have ordered an assortment for everyone to always have a diamond project to work through. We’re definitely a family HOOKED! I am newly subscribed to your channel and am going to seek your favorite solutions to all the various facets of this craft, hoping to find inexpensive framing options. Thank You so much, again, 100% invaluable to me and mine! Please take care, wishing you and yours a Healthy Happy 2021.
Thanks so much! I absolutely love your heart felt gift tradition, such a wonderful expression. I definitely have a framing video planned for this year, exploring different ideas...I hope it helps.
I love how thorough and articulate you are in your videos, definetely makes for easy watching! Im suspecting you might be an academic 😏😊. Thank you for your effort and time in making these, their honestly great to watch. A relaxing afternoon diamond painting with you and chatting would be a great afternoon. Thanks again!
Thanks for the great info on all these products. I was going to go something simular but really didn't want to reck any of my paintings. Thank you for the sacrifice.
The reason why it was called diamond painting is that the beads were cut like diamonds . So when the light hits it , it will give a sparkle in any angle . With those cut the beads has a very strong sharp sparkle . Sealing it with glosses like in ur examples removed the ability of each and every diamonds to spark . My mistake is that I went right through the modpodge extreme glitter and it messed up my very first project . I’m still looking for a better sealer . If I would seal my next one , I might choose a spray sealer , one that doesn’t sip into the edges and won’t loose those sharp edges that makes the painting sparkle .
I saw the Krylon Triple-Thick Crystal Clear High-gloss Crystal Clear Glaze Spray Paint online. Is this something that you have or would try? I’m also concerned about wanting all the diamonds on shining.
I've rewatched this video a few times and i recently used the mod podge super gloss on my projects. I was just wondering my on the owl project you only did the diamonds? I have a project I did of Jesus and like the owl had some areas without diamonds and I coated everything and it came out great. Just thought I'd ask...
Hi! Yes... With the partial I only sealed the beaded area. You could definitely seal the entire canvas, but I like the printed area having a matt finish and didn't want it to be all glossy.
Three years on and still worth watching. Thank you for doing such a lovely testing and sampling job! Very helpful indeed.
Love it!
I used a 55 cent bottle of Elmer's glue. Not only does it dry clear but makes your diamonds sparkle. Also I haven't had any loss in my diamonds.
The glue doesn't peel off?

Was it regular white Elmer’s glue?

Do you have to wipe it off the surface?
As a beginner in Diamond Art I can really appreciate your knowledge in protecting my finished piece. Thank You
hi, would you be able to do a video on how you frame them and the preparation you do for that please
Great idea! Yes! Ill put that on my list. xx
@@StudioSam I would love to see a framing video as well. Curious as to your reasoning behind putting behind glass vs dry mounting after sealing ;) . I haven't done either but getting ready to do!
@@ThePrissymissy14 Me too!
Thanks so much for your tutorials! Myself and an older friend are new to this and we appreciate your tips!
Ha! Isn't that funny! Its my favourite artwork...so I think I need to do it again now!
How to fold completed diamond doz with damage
Kathy Fettkether RIGHT?!? That was my first thought! I was thinking “NOOOOO! It’s too beautiful!”
That was my very first one I ever did. Just finished a couple days ago. Lol
Starry night is my first and only diamond painting as well, but i think i have a slightly different version. Mine looks a little smoother
Thanks for doing this video. I haven't sealed any painting yet. But feel more comfortable trying it now after watching this video.
Thanks so much...just a good excuse to start another project!
So many years ago, but did you try using a razor Knife to remove the rows that were damaged by the glaze ? Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to replace them..@@StudioSam

You're right...it probably wouldn't have been hard to fix! But I just moved on to another kit I was excited to start. X
How are you now? 💕
Yes friend how are you. 🥰
God Bless!
I did a 15*20 in 5 days being 2 hours at a time. So 10 hours total
not an expert but rather than sacrificing the facets /sparkle, why not use the sealant as a type of grout and wipe the top of the 'tiles' to clear it off before it dries?

Omg thx you!
You're a gem! (pun intended) 😉
thank you!
I like it with the lines, makes it rustic looking.
I discovered your videos today this is the 1st time that I have ever heard of diamond painting and looks like so much fun.
Thanks so much for taking time doing the sealer comparison - very helpful
Thank YOU for that brilliant tip of gently removing excess varnish!
Great idea!!👍
Thanks so much!
Thanks for the tip, to remove the excess sealant from the diamonds! 💕

Thank for showing different types of sealers and brands. I've only been seeing the clear glue in the tube.
Thank you for the video. It was a pleasure watching it. I just sealed my first painting and now I'm waiting for the result.
This video was so informative and you were so thorough. Thank you for putting the effort into it.

Thank you so much for making this video. I was so happy to see that the sparkle was still there after you sealed them. I was worried that it would dull the painting. Thanks again. Would love to see how to frame one behind glass or how to stretch on canvas.
Thanks Mary! I've got a framing video on my to-do list...I'll have to make that video soon!
Hi! yes...I totally agree with the Extreme Glitter. Im going to stick with the Deco Art glaze too. Thanks so much! x
I'm so happy to have found your 10 tips video and your dealing product testing video. 8 just started to do diamond painting and had a lot of questions that your videos answered.
Thank you so much
Thank you for all the information you have given. I just started diamond painting and I love it.
@@StudioSam Could you use the Aqua Glue to glue down the popping drills?
Just getting readying to start my first diamond 💎 painting so am loving your awesome tutorial. Thanks so much.

This is so helpful! I ordered a diamond painting some days ago and I'm eager to start doing it.

Hi 🙋♀️🌞 Aussie here too! 🇦🇺
Now that it has been a year or so since you sealed this, do you have any additional thoughts on how well the various sealing products have held up? Did any of them start feeling tackier over time? Have you noticed any yellowing or other color changes due to the sealers?
It is unfortunate that she didn’t respond to your question. It would be a final review to all her hard work.

@@susanvella4482 I have the same questions I hope she replies soon.
FYI.. my wife has been doing 5D painting for over 3 years. FYI imo
@@cpt.freaknlost5832 Thank you. Once I’m done I will definitely seal the the mod-podge super gloss as recommended.

I am a massive Little Mermaid Fan and as soon as I seen your piece I couldn't believe how sweet it was and loved that you did all of it with the glitter seal, I think I can kind of see how it would look, I know sometimes it's hard to see on camera but from what I could see it looked beautiful and went perfectly with it being The Little Mermaid 🧜🏻♀️
I just thought i would drop you a few lines so you knew that you had made me want to do it even more so I am going to order a kit...

Where did you get your small brush
You make great videos! Your diamond painting tips were very helpful. Yesterday I received a diamond painting set. I didn’t know I was going to get it, so it was a big surprise for me! I started immediately and I love it! I am definitely not finished yet, I’m wondering if you have to seal it when you’re done. Once you’ve sealed it, how do you frame it? Thank you for your videos!!
When you mount behind glass, would you still suggest sealing with one of these?
Really enjoyed your video
I've mounted two paintings between plexiglass. If you put enough thickness (a piece of cardboard or something similar) between the back of the painting and the frame backing, there shouldn't be room at all for the diamonds to loosen and drop due to the pressure. No need for sealant at all, imo.
Any suggestions of a good affordable place online to buy frames w glass? I used to buy my frames and such from Ikea, but they've begun to only carry frames with a thin plastic cover, no longer glass.
@@Inapeartree If you are handy with cutting a 45 degree angle, you could probably make your own frame from 1×4 board and a little plexi glass....

Thank you for doing this I just used the mod podge gloss and this helped me a lot for my diamonds painting.
It’s a gift that I’m very proud of and even though it’s a
Most completed, my daughter has seen it and is loving it already.
Take care.
The channel is Love craft forever all one word if you want to check it out and how she uses it. I hope this helps. Take care xxx

Hi sis...can I know where can buy soft UV resin..plz help me...
Hi! Yes, no issues have risen over time.
I’ve been doing acrylic paintings in layers of resin. I wonder how a diamond painting will look embedded in resin.
It would take away the facets on the diamonds.
Tiffany Boothe yeah, but the facets would still function inside the resin. Beads still sparkle.
Sheesh.
🤣🤣don't get your panties in a wad. I was just sayin.🙄
Please make more diamond painting videos, I watched your 10 tips and these and they are both awesome useful videos!
Thanks so much...Ive got lots in the planning!
Thank you!
Do you use the spray or brush on? I am working on a set of coasters now and definitely concerned that they would be ruined immediately without sealing
@@Rivercat0338 I used the brush on. But don’t use it! It muted the shine. My husband liked it that way, but it defeats the purpose. I thought it would be good because it works so well on my jewelry. But I discovered it’s not ideal for Diamond painting.
@@kate4121 Good to know, thank you!
how have these seals stood up over the last few months? Any update?
Thanks so much! Xx
Thanks for the great info on all these products. I was going to go something simular but really didn't want to reck any of my paintings. Thank you for the sacrifice.
New at diamond painting, was very interested in the sealing products. Thank you for a great video!
This is amazing!I might not seal it when I’m done but I might cuz I still want the shine ❤️ ✨
Thank you so much I've learned so much from you. I'm a great grandma newbie to this craft.
i love that blue-green brick! thanks for this video. i just started my first diamond painting.
Have fun!
