The active ingrediant in the hand sanitizer that is the only thing that is removing the sticky from things and removing sharpie markings off things.... is rubbing alcohol. You can save a lot of money by getting yourself a little spray bottle and filling it with 91% rubbing alcohol and keeping it in your craft space.... it comes in handy :)
@@PinkPoodleCrafts I’ve tried rubbing alcohol before the hand sanitizer and the hand sanitizer by far works better for me. No clue why but it really does. As I always say use what works best for you. 💕💕
@@theprincipalpainter it may be because since the hand sanitizer uses a gel to hold the alcohol, it doesnt evaporate as quickly so if you put it on, it will stay longer and penetrate the sticky stuff longer before it evaporates. So yeah I can see how that could work better. I was assuming the stickiness was minimal on the trays but if its built up a bit, then I can see how the sanitizer would work better :) I dont use that sticky stuff when I do diamond painting... I use a gem pick up stick so Ive never had that experience. I use alcohol spray a lot to clean up all kinds of minor stickiness in crafting :)

Great tips. I've already tried the tweezer idea that I believe you mentioned in one of your other videos. Work great. Hand sanitizer for trays and gooey bottle tops...gotta try that one. Taylor turned out really sharp.
Hi just found your channel today. I have made quite a few diamond paintings. I have made one of my late dog Pip which is now leaning on the box of his ashes. I would like to ask a question if I may. I have noticed with a few bags of just the black drills, that they seem 'wet or greasy' and stick together more than other colours. Is there a reason for this? or is it just one of those things. Sorry if I sound stupid about it.
You are absolutely not sounding stupid at all. It’s weird I know. Sometimes they come that way or it looks like there is powder on them. The greasy or wet drills are (in my opinion) that way because of the machinery that produces them. I may be totally wrong but that’s what I’m thinking. The powdery drills may be from something the factory puts on them to combat static. Again…these are just my thoughts and opinions. What I do is get a fine strainer from my kitchen, put the drills in it and run warm water and a bit of dish soap over them. I then lay them on a paper towel to dry and it should take care of it. I hope that helps!💕💕
Thank you for these tips! I loved hearing ones that I had not heard before. Did I hear you say that the hand sanitizer will get the glue left behind on the little storage bottles from the labels?
With the Mica powder, do you just put it on the spot that you see the gapping or once you use it on the spot, do you have to continue put the powder on the rest of that section? In other words, if I put the powder just on the spot that has the gapping, when looking at the whole section, would it be obvious that there was something odd on it?
@@esperanzaalcarese2312 great question. I put it just where the gapping is and use a toothbrush to gently brush it in to the gaps. I then take a baby wipe and run it over the tops of the drills that I put the mica powder between. You can’t tell a difference at all. Just use a very little bit when you start. A little goes a long way and it gets everywhere so use it sparingly. 💕💕
I’ve tried the multi placer and I failed. They always come crooked round &Square. But I’m going to try again because practice does make perfect. You’re right Il start off with two or four placer. Hi Tabitha! I’m so glad you are here and have discovered this fun craft! Washi tape is kind of like painter’s tape in stickiness to give you perspective. People use it to put around the edge of the canvas in case the glue comes out a little bit from the pasting area so their hand doesn’t keep getting stuck or to lay down on top of the clear plastic on top of the canvas to make smaller more manageable sections to work on. The release paper is used when you peel the plastic back. You can put the release paper down instead of keeping the clear plastic in order section off your canvas or to keep gunk off of your canvas. Some people don’t like the clear plastic at all so they just peel it off and replace it with release paper. I tend to go row by row with my release paper. It’s whatever you are comfortable with. There is no wrong way to do it! Just do what works for you and have fun! I hope this helps and welcome!💕💕💕
Terrific tips and tricks, thank you! They’re so useful and will most definitely come in handy 🤩. I adore the Taylor Swift canvas, it’s beautiful! If you don’t mind me asking, how many colors is it?
I use my pool noodle as an arm rest. My table is one of those that lift at an angle of you want too so there's an edge at the bottom along with a metal tray to put pens or supplies so they don't fall when it's at an angle, so when I lean against the edge it digs into my arm and leaves marks and hurts! So I put a slit into the side of the pool noodle and slid it onto the edge of the pen tray on my table. Works like a charm! Best comfy solution! Now I need a hack for the best chair to sit in! I don't like hard chairs at all. I've done been through so many chairs it's crazy! I find that when I’m looking for particular small things like that I can never find it in there and if I ask the employees they look at me like I’m crazy and I always end up not being able to get what I want so just wondering if in your Michaels where did you find that?

Great tips thank you, how do you use washi in diamond painting if you answer in video disregard I am watching whole video I just didn’t want to forget my question ❤
Great question. I don’t use washi at all. It just does not work for me. I use release papers instead. I peel back the plastic to the size of the release papers, put the release papers down in a row and pull up the release papers as I go. I know lots of people who use Washi however and love it. They put it around the outside of the painting and also use it to section off the painting in top of the plastic covering. I hope that makes sense. Me too, I do single placing checkered method, it works for me, I can't for the life of me multiplace, lol. I've tried, but no thanks. The tweezer trick is a plus, and the hand sanitizer trick. Thank you for sharing Kara👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Awesome tips, not just for diamond painting but for life in general. Thank you! ❤
I've been looking forward to this tips video, and you did not disappoint. I'm going to start using the release paper to level my putty in my multiplication & I am going to use hand sanitizer to clean my trays. Some other tips I already use. I got one of those chip bag sealer/cutters that saved my life before I got storage for the drills, and blue tack is fabulous, much better in my opinion, than wax, you can load it and work for a week or more. No drying or wax plugs and adhesion is better.

I have not heard about using mica powder to fill in gaps. I will be trying that next time I diamond paint. It sounds like such an easy hack to do. I like doing square drill paintings, but am always frustrated with the gapping. Thank you so much for the hints.

Thank you for the tips, Carra. These are very helpful! Love the hand sanatizer suggestion, I will have to try that. Here is a suggestion for those with easels. They sell tray minders which are like bars with magnets, people can use these to point out their 'missing' drill spots. Or at minimum, put the bar under the row the symbol is in to help them locate it again. Hope you have a great week!
Well there you go! Thank you for this!! I learned something new! Love it!!💕💕

You are so right about losing track of that lost spot to fill. I use a lighted magnifier and still lose it. Sometimes can't find it without running my fingers over it to find the missing divit 😂
I've always used my tweezers to mark my spot, but I use the other end to point 👈🏼 at the missing drill, so it's more like an arrow. LOL

I use the funnel for pouring the drills in the container. And I use static spray if they stick to it. I like all your hacks and enjoy watching your channel.
23:35 Nice Completed diamond painting. Do you usually do square drills over round or do both? 😊😊😊Sharon in SC
I do both. I love them both for different reasons. 💕💕

I love the tips and tricks. Using them all.
I used your tip on the washi tape on my channel. You’ve been a good helper.
@@diamondsandpixiedust Yay!!! I’m glad you could use it! 💕💕
Thank you for these tips! I loved hearing ones that I had not heard before.
Did I hear you say that the hand sanitizer will get the glue left behind on the little storage bottles from the labels?
@@Queen_of_Diamonds_4 yes it will! Just rub a bit on the gooey stuff, leave for a minute or so and it will take it off!💕💕
With the Mica powder, do you just put it on the spot that you see the gapping or once you use it on the spot, do you have to continue put the powder on the rest of that section? In other words, if I put the powder just on the spot that has the gapping, when looking at the whole section, would it be obvious that there was something odd on it?
@@esperanzaalcarese2312 great question. I put it just where the gapping is and use a toothbrush to gently brush it in to the gaps. I then take a baby wipe and run it over the tops of the drills that I put the mica powder between. You can’t tell a difference at all. Just use a very little bit when you start. A little goes a long way and it gets everywhere so use it sparingly. 💕💕
Very smart ideas! Thanks for sharing!
I’ve tried the multi placer and I failed. They always come crooked round &Square. But I’m going to try again because practice does make perfect. You’re right Il start off with two or four placer. The micro powder I will definitely go buy at Michael’s. I do have some gaps, I thought it was from the placer. thank you so much. I’m Looking forward to other videos.

Genius hacks! Great video! ❤
What do you do with the washing tape for in diamond painting? I’m new new. LOL. And, what is release paper used for?

My sister has the best chair but won't give it up and there's not a name on the chair at all anywhere lol I may have to Google search it one of these days 😂😂 anyways! Love your hacks! ❤

My question is, where would the mica powder be found in Michaels?
