    Thanks for making the point about what the average user is looking out for. There's too many people on social media who make fun of the FE line just because it has an Exynos processor and an LCD screen, that its "dead-on-arrival", when the performance and quality of the tablet is more than enough for anybody who isn't a power user. It's a perfectly fine tablet that is 70-80% of the premium line at 60% of the price. What's there to nitpick?

    • @AndroidDigest

    Tab S9 FE is more of an alternate option to the S7 FE, especially for the price. Now when this goes on sale for the holidays, this will be the new “tab s6 lite” in the lineup, a good all rounder if it’s closer to $350.
    I purchased the Tab S9 FE 6/128gb and was not impressed at all by the performance. It’s not a bad device if coming from something like low end Lenovo tablets or Tab S6 Lite, there are just much better options for this price point. I will be returning this and keeping an eye out for an on sale-new or open box Tab S8 or S9.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I don't blame you. I just don't see very many options in the US. You've got the pixel tablet and the OnePlus pad. That's about all I see for Android tablets. Both of those tablets are slightly faster. But they don't come with an s pen. They don't have the same software support. And you get a 90hz screen vs 60 on the Pixel. Plus it's water resistant with dex. In your case, there's no question. You made the right decision. But I definitely think there's a strong market for it and I still think it fits in here

    I got a question though. I really really hope you have a MHL to HDMI adapter. As the S6 Lite and the new S9 FE have both only USB 2.0, there is no DeX for an external display. Nevertheless, you could with an MHL to HDMI adapter mirror the screen on the S6 Lite even though the specifications say it doesn't support it. You may want to look for used Tab S8 Plus devices or things like that. If you are actually worried about it, it makes me think you may need to find something more powerful. It's plenty fast enough for most things. But you mention a good amount of gaming, you may need to get something a little more powerful if you are a gamer. The Tab S8 Plus may be able to be found in mint condition or new for a reasonable price on a place like ebay if you find it from a reputable seller.

    I want to upgrade from a tab A as i want a larger screen and better resolution and ppi. There seems that there will be a new Tab A9 + but resolution is the same as what i have but the ppi is worse. The 2022 S6 seems and option but i have read alot about scrern bleed issues. Do you think that a S7fe is worth picking up if i can get it for a good price even though it is 2 years old and i presume only has 1 further year of updates and security patches. Do that really natter ?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I guess it depends on how much you value those updates. Everyone is different. I've seen especially some older people run outdated phones on outdated software and they don't care at all. The security risk is pretty minimal because the way Android works a lot of things get security just purely based on the updates you get through the Google Play store anyway. So if you don't mind running outdated software, yeah I'm sure you could get a really good deal and it's a really good tablet.
      So it's a pretty tough call overall. The s6 lite 2022 would be a decent upgrade. The S7 FE would be an even better upgrade. But no fingerprint sensor. And updates running out. The S7 FE I'm sure will go on sale soon. Honestly, you could probably check and Best buy. Will probably have some open box listings for like $50 cheaper soon too. If you wait until after a sale you could get them even cheaper open box during a sale. All of those are decent options. All of them have compromises.

    Any thoughts about the 5g and wifi variant? What is the ideal? What's the advantage of 5g over Wi-Fi only?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you get the 5G variant you have to get cell phone service with it anyway. That all depends on your carrier, but you could be spending like $20 a month or something which obviously adds up over time. I would recommend just using your phone hotspot, it takes like 5 seconds to turn on and you could automatically have your tablet connect to it anyway. But some people want instant access to the internet on their device without having to use a hotspot. But just remember that cellular devices that use 5G normally cost more. And they normally specify 5G or Cellular in the title of the listing. So if you don't see that it's probably just a Wi-Fi version

    • @AndroidDigest

      There's no question the xiaomi pad is better in general. Specification wise. It's faster, it has a better refresh rate. It's probably similar to the OnePlus Pad. Which is also faster with the better refresh rate.
      But in the US Xiaomi is harder to get. Even then, if you are out of the US, I can't say how many os updates you will get. 4 years of OS updates is a lot. I think you will probably be happy with the S9FE. So if it's cheaper, I would go with that. If it's not cheaper and if it's the same price, it depends on what you want. Do you want more software updates and Samsung DeX? Do you want the stylus in the box? Or would you rather have better performance with a better refresh rate on the screen? That's up to you

      @AndroidDigest  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes and no. To be honest, the iPhone processor from like 3 years ago is still faster, technically speaking than the fastest Android processor. That's just a guess off the top of my head. The point is that even cheaper iPads are going to have pretty good performance.
      But if you watch the limited clips, I have of performance here... You will see that this tablet is actually pretty fast for most things I'm doing. If you're already on the Android side, I do think this is a pretty good choice for you.. and I think you would really enjoy it. Either way Best Buy and Samsung have free returns (links in the description.) So there's not really much to lose. The most noticeable difference may be with gaming. Mid settings on a lot of games, like asphalt 9. You won't get the highest settings like you might in the iPad. But switching between apps, opening up apps, things feel pretty speedy and fast. And the 90hz refresh rate will make it feel smoother then an iPad

    So if there’s a used S7 FE with all keyboard and pen included for 300 USD is it a better deal?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It really depends on what you value. Yes that's a good deal. But remember that there aren't any more android os updates for that tablet. It doesn't have a fingerprint sensor either. No water resistance. BUT it's 12.4 inches. So in that sense, considering the fact that the S9 FE is $150 cheaper than the 12.4" S9 FE +, remember you pay like $150 extra for screen size, and that S7 FE has more screen size than that S9 FE.
      So between having more screen size, coming with those accessories, and being $150 cheaper than the lowest FE, sure, it's a good value. But for me personally, not sure I can recommend buying a device with no big updates left. When you can spend a little more and get 4 updates. That's just me though.

    I traded in my Galaxy Tab A7 (Samsung gave me $75 for it) for an S9 FE+ last week. Found a $10 case for it on Amazon. I used the Samsung Shop app to do the entire process of trade-in. Am delighted with the much better picture quality and the sound is excellent. With the case, it is surely bigger and heavier than my A7 but hey, I mostly leave it resting on a surface. For a Tablet, this size is perfect. Any larger, I'd simply just get a laptop. I am yet to explore the seemingly amazing software (like Goodnotes) that can use the S-Pen (such a pen is called a Pencil by Apple). The face recognition seldom works so I need to introduce my face to it again, haha! Way to go, Samsung!

    Do you think it is worth to get the s9 fe+ because of the 8gb of ram? For the deal that I got on the samsung student of my country, the price diference between the s9 fe and the s9fe+ is really small, so I would tipically go with the plus version, but im in doubt because the smaller size of the s9 fe would be better to carry around, do think those extra 2gb would be worth do keep and sacrifice the smaller size of the s9 fe? (the bigger one would still be portable for me, just less confortable to carry with) I know that for now it isnt too noticible, but I wonder if with more years the extra 2gb will be useful, since eventualy apps (and also the dex mode) will get more updates and will need more ram to run better
    Obs: I know that there are better tablets when thinking about something that will last more years, but for the fact that I'll use it just for study + the student discount that I got + the fact that here they are the only tablets that I will get already with case, pen, buds and charger, they are my best options right now

      I don't think the extra RA Mis that significant honestly. But it may be for some people. I think the screen size is the more important thing to be looking at. You could also upgrade the storage on the smaller fe and get more RAM if you want a smaller FE with more RAM

      That's a very difficult thing to guide. There's so many factors with what people will want. You have to look at your budget. You have to look at the prices you see each product at. Then you have to look at the screen size you prefer, and what operating system you prefer. You really have to narrow it down. Everyone is different. Some people complain that this tablet is slow because they only use $1,000 phones. Some people will think it's lightning fast because they come from a $200 phone. So it's really hard to say if this tablet will be fast enough for you or if you will want something else. It's hard to say what operating system you would want, what screen size and all of that. Just to be honest, it would be difficult to guide you. I would just ask yourself a lot of those questions and try to narrow things down a little bit

    As a teacher, Is this tablet good for performing video editing and ppt presentation or should i go for s9 ?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes and no. There is no way to connect to a monitor that I know of. I heard an mhl adapter might work. But this is usb c 2.0 port so a USBC hub or an adapter won't connect this to a monitor. Some people need that so they can connect this to a projector or something like that. So if that's what you need, this wouldn't work. The Tab S9 and S9 Plus have a Bluetooth s pen which can be good for PowerPoint presentations. And it can connect with a monitor. The same thing is true for the tab. S8. And the tab s8 will be faster technically. But more expensive unless you look on maybe eBay or something.
      As far as video editing, it's tough. It should be able to video edit 1080p video just fine. You can use an app like luma fusion. And it should work. Technically. You will get a better experience on the tab S9 for that. If those are your two main things, you may be better off getting a better tablet.

      I guess it depends. If you are getting the Plus it already comes with 8 GB. If you want the regular FE, I'd maybe go with 8 GB to be safe. You probably won't even notice but if you're asking the question it may show you may notice. It may mean 13 apps open in the background instead of 7 or 8. Just a guess. The point is, either way you will have plenty of apps you can have open in the background. So I don't think you can go too wrong either way, but if you have a little money, maybe go for the FE Plus or go for the higher GB model of the regular FE. Depending on what size you want.

She actually got "downgraded" from her previous Galaxy tab with AMOLED to a far more garbage LCD. The viewing angles and contrast and black levels are awful. It's 2023 with over a decade of releasing tablets and Samsung still doesn't understand their biggest draw is their OLED displays. Otherwise everyone would just get an iPad for the same money. You cut corners to keep the OLED, NOT the other way around. Their $500 tablets used to be AMOLED. Now it's $600 for an LCD... I would love if they gave the Ultra models pedestrian innards and lesser unnecessary features so normal people can get a 14.6" OLED tablet that isn't over $1k. These panels are in $600 laptops nowadays. They are not expensive anymore. Don't need the highest resolution or fastest or brightest either for movie watching, which is what 90% of tablet users use tablets for. The fe models are just constant jokes, only useful for trade-ins. Otherwise if you are gonna pay full price, get an older model with AMOLED and better processor and speakers.

      I get what you're saying, but I definitely disagree. Like I agree with you that the amoled displays are very important. But in the past, all of their flagship tablets had AMOLED, The only non-flagship to get amoled was the S5e for $400. And that tablet didn't come with any type of s pen or s-pen support. It was also a smaller tablet with no water resistance and a lot of other compromises.
      When you look around at the competition, iPads Don't have AMOLED near this price. The OnePlus pad doesn't, the Google Pixel tablet doesn't. Every sub $500 tablet in America doesn't have it. So I wouldn't expect it here either.
      And compared it to that older Galaxy Tab S5e there are just so many more advantages that I personally think AMOLED isn't a huge loss. I personally would rather have the better refresh rate with water resistance and a lot of other things. Plus the S5e had major wifi issues.

    Over 5 hours to charge in normal mode is ridiculous my old samsung tablet dosent evan take that long what sre Samsung thinking giving people no other option to buy a fast charger which will destroy your tablet battery not to mention that the fast chargers only last a few months before breaking time for Samsung to up there game

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      With all due respect, this comment doesn't really make sense. If you're charging on, normal mode, that means you're probably charging at like 5 Watts. The only reason it would take longer than older tablets at the same exact speed is the fact that the batteries are now much much bigger. So yeah, if you charge a bigger battery The same speed as a slower battery, of course it will take a while. But this will charge up to 45 watts with the correct charger. And you can charge this up within like an hour and a half if you're fast charging it.
      I get it though if you were disappointed because it was taking so long, it will take a while to charge a huge tablet battery, but you just have to get a faster charger. You won't be happy after that

      I respect your opinion. I'm a high end phone user using a Pixel 8 Pro. But I realize that not everyone uses flagship phones and tablets. Some people need most of the performance. Honestly this is very fast for most things and I think most people will enjoy it. With that being said, I'm with you. A lot of people should go for the S9. I highly recommend all of those tablets. So I'm with you there. I just think there's room for both

      You're mainly paying for screen size here. I'm not saying it's the best price point but it isn't far off. It's pretty close to OnePlus Pad or Pixel Tablet specs ($500 tablet). It has advantages (like DeX or 4 years OS support. A pen in the box) and disadvantages. But the $450 FE is very competitive. So the extra $150 is mainly for the screen size and an extra camera. Plus more battery. Maybe it should only be $100 more expensive. But again. It doesn't feel too far off to me

    Anyways, good job presenting features, I liked the structure of them.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Definitely not. That's why I can cover the Galaxy s24 Ultra, I can call it the best smartphone out in my opinion, but I still told people very vocally in that review that it's not the best value. There are a lot of other phones that are better values. Like the OnePlus 12. As far as tablets, I live in the US. We have google, samsung, OnePlus, and Lenovo. I've reviewed all of their tablets on my channel. I've been fairly positive about all of them. I've pointed out all the flaws in the tablets during the reviews. I just try to be positive, but also be honest about where a tablet is, and then I'm honest about how much I would pay for the tablet. Someone used to paying $100 for tablets will love a $200 Samsung tablet. Someone who pays $800 for tablets will hate it. So I try to compare each device to other devices in its price range. I explain the pros and cons. But I always spend a lot of time in my videos considering who is the right person to buy a product. I want people to watch and think "this isn't for me" and for others to get hyped up. I try to help the Right audience to find the tablet they need, I try to help some people avoid it by mentioning all the cons, and I try to help people find the right price to buy that. I also give other competitors to the product I'm reviewing so people have something to compare it to.
      If you compare these two tablets to other tablets in this price range, in the US, they fit right in. They are missing some features but they have other features for the price. It's not for everyone, which is why I mentioned the negatives, but I do think they fit in well for the money, and they have been going on sale a lot lately. .
      I'll assume you were trying to be genuine and helpful. Hopefully this helps you see my thought process. I won't pedal products unless it's an ad. Otherwise I'm going to help my audience the best I can

    I wasted 6 minutes of my life until I finally realized this is a paid advertisement and not an actual review. You are insulting your audience basically saying "yeah it sucks but you're too basic to notice and it feels premium anyway so just get it"

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      This is very very far from a paid advertisement. And the fact that you would say that is absolutely ridiculous and insulting. When you compare what this tablet brings to the table, and you compare it to other tablets in the US around this price, these tablets stack up pretty well. These are water resistant tablets, with Samsung dex, 4 years of updates, 90hz refresh rates, and for $450. It sits very nicely. It also comes with a stylus (normally $50 to $100 with an iPad). So the OnePlus Pad is about the same price. It has a higher refresh rate. Slightly more speed. But it has less software updates. The pen is sold separately. It has no Samsung DeX. So which one is the better deal? Normally at the retail price it's a close call. And it depends on what you want. This stacks well against the Pixel tablet. Again this comes with a stylus and a better refresh rate than the Pixel tablet.
      So at the end of the day, what would I recommend most people buy? It depends on the person. If you want to speaker to come with your tablet, I would probably recommend the Pixel tablet. If you want the highest refresh rate and speed, OnePlus. If you care about a balance of things and want a stylus, Samsung. But either way I don't feel like it's overpriced for what you're getting.
      Is it an advertisement to give an initial review/ a first impressions video that is positive? Overall about the tablet? All I did was share the good things that it has for the money.
      You should consider being less critical. And because of my full review I will do a full comparison with all these other tablets, I will let people know which tablet they should lean towards depending on the person they are. And I will call out any issues I see. That's why I always do. Not paid to share positive impressions.
      In fact Samsung is willing to send these as loaners for review. But it was going to take too long. I could have been frustrated by that and given poor reviews. In the end I spent my hard earned money to make this. And share my honest impressions. Hopefully you can see that

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly, that's hard to say. Much you value different things. I would say the biggest thing you should look at is screen size. If you really really care about screen size, and you are okay with a really small downgrade in performance, I'd go with the FE +. But if you want a little bit of a faster tablet, with a better refresh rate, I'd go with the S8. Both are great. Both will have similar display quality. It's basically screen size vs a little better performance. The S8 also has a Bluetooth s pen with a few extra features and a few more things. But yeah.
