    So basically if you care about external display support, a LCD screen and a Exynos processor... go for the flagship S9 tab series and do not consider the FE series at all. I would then decide on the screen size. Personally I think the plus versions are a good size if you are a big time note taker and reminds me of an A4 paper size or a small laptop size... it is convenient for both entertainment and productivity purposes. It's not awkwardly big as the Ultra and is still convenient to take on the go. I play Gensin Impact on the S9 FE + on it's highest graphic settings and it works perfectly. I would also recommend spending extra on getting the 12 GB RAM just to add to that extra smooth experience. Also the front facing camera and the battery life of the S9+ and S9 FE+ are exactly the same. I personally think the price point of the FE series is more where a tablet's price point should be and the specs are still good. 😊 Hope this helps someone.

    I owned the Galaxy Tab S6 (10.5) since i bought it in 2019 and it's served me great. But I really needed an affordable tablet that would continue to be supported for the next coming years. I decided to trade my Tab S6 in to Samsung for the Tab S9 FE+ and only ended up paying about $340 including a free book cover. Although the Exynos processor is a slight downgrade from the Snapdragon 855, and I would lose AMOLED, I found that I could get all of my tasks done just as well if not better now. The 90hz is a really nice upgrade and a larger display is great for content and web surfing. The performance isn't bad at all, unless you do a lot of heavy gaming or video editing, it can get everything done pretty easily. Note taking and drawing is a lot better with the larger display and new S Pen model. Overall i'm very happy with the Tab S9 FE+ and I totally recommend it if you can get a good trade in deal for it.

    Would the 9fe work well for design programs like Canva, Design Space (cricut machine app), or Silhouette Studio (silhouette machine app)? These apps also communicate with the machine via bluetooth. I would also be printing from app to printer via blue tooth. Would the s9FE have sufficient power and speed or would you recommend the S9+ for such tasks?

    Great review! I have a Galaxy Tab A that's a bit long in the tooth, but I've been getting a little overwhelmed with the choices on the newer series. After watching this it seems like the S9+ is the sweet spot as far as screen size, display quality, specs and bang for the buck. Plus, I want to try some gaming on a tablet, and it sounds like the S9+ should have no problems with that.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly, nearly identical to the S9 Ultra, but it gives you a larger size than the smaller S9. Probably the best middle ground. Also, keyboard covers are a little too small on the S9, S9 Plus really is one of the best tablets even today.

    Thank you for your effort on letting us know lots of stuff but i wonder why Samsung does this almost all the time i mean if Tab s9 base model is the flagship it should have everything and nothing missing like for example the 2nd camera 😅 but it definitely is a good choice i live in a humid climate and waterproof is a very important I wouldn't want my device rusting and it has amoled screen and appropriate size and power. I would really appreciate if you compare it with 11 inch m1 chip 2021 ipad pro

    I personally use the Tab S9 because I play demanding games like Genshin Impact on it, and it's almost like a companion device to my PC. I bought the Tab S9FE for my brother who games occassionally but mostly uses it for media consumption and productivity. For anything below that, I do think the A series tablets are more than enough. My parents have the A7 and A8 respectively, and they are perfectly happy watching TH-cam/Netflix or chatting with friends on Skype. Perhaps the recently released A9+ is the most suitable for those who only need it for basic functions.

      I think you hit the nail on the head. I really depends on what you're doing. I think the FE is enough for most of the basics, but when you do high end gaming I think the tab S9 is the way to go, and get the screen size you need from there

    Really nice video, helped me a lot to understand better about wich one I should get, but I still have a question, how do you think the s9 fe will be in some years? Do you think it will still be okay for my use or I should spend a little more on the s9? Since it has a more powerfull chip, do you think this will make a big diference with time?
    I plan on use it mainly for studying, sometimes drawing and watching movies/youtube, not heavy tasks and I really don't care about the oled screen that the s9 have, so I know that for now, the s9 fe would be enough. My only problem is that I am worried about the durability of it, I wanted something to last at least some 5 years, I know that the snapdragon's chips age well since I use a 5 years old note 9 and it still works fine for me, but I don't have experience with exynos, do you think that with time the s9 fe will still works fine for my needs?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly, and sorry for the late late reply. But I would go with the Tab S9 in your situation. Mainly because you want to keep it for SO LONG. If you were keeping it for 2-3 years, I'd say the FE easily. Honestly, with your usage the FE may even be fine in 4 years. I think it's really overrated when people say a device will slow down. Sometimes you need to factory reset things and tune the software, but I think either device will perform roughly the same way in 4-5 years. But if you are going to stick with a device for THAT LONG, you may want to just bump up a little bit, then you won't have any doubts. If you want a tablet for 2 years, and then you want to re-sell it and upgrade, or trade it in, well get the FE. But if you plan to stick with something that long, tech will evolve a lot in 5 years, and your taste for tech may get richer. The S9 will help you feel less disappointed in 4 or 5 years. PS: If you buy anything, feel free to use my links, it will help me out. But as you can tell, I'm just trying to help you. Hope this helps! And if you already got something, congrats! Even the FE would be great for years to come, and you should be happy with either.

    Hi from Italy! I'm undecided between s9 fe and s9. I'm looking for a lighter and more portable alternative to a laptop and I should use it at university to take notes in class. I never play games on the laptop and I only need it to surf the web and use Office (Word, PowerPoint...) for notes. In your opinion, is the s9 fe still good for this use or should I buy the s9 directly. Well remember that Microsoft Office requires an office 365 subscription. Android tablets do have slightly less features on microsoft office than windows laptops, not by much, but a few less features. But this should be great for taking notes and light surfing. I still think it's great. Obviously you get the laptop you can afford, but I think the FE would be more than good enough.

    Hi, I'm personally between the S9 FE and the S9. No gaming just internet browsing and videos, just to have a bigger screen than my cell phone.
    I would like to know if the S pen is annoying when you lay the tablet flat and does it stay in place?
    For my purposes, is 8g ram enough?

    • @sensibleDuck893
      @sensibleDuck893 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can attach S pen on the side as well so it won't annoy while keeping tab flat
      Also 8gb ram is more than enough for web browsing and media consumption
      Even 6gb will be enough
      Also , If you want to do just Net Browsing and Media Consumption , Then go for S9FE as long as you are satisfied with Good Quality LCD display over AMOLED display.

      @@sensibleDuck893 Yes, you're right, the S9FE should suit me. But the S9 has an amoled screen that must be gorgeous, 4 speakers, and snapdragon.
      So I don't know what to choose.
      Is the S9FE's LCD screen really good quality?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I don't find it annoying at all when you lay it flat. Because being slightly elevated actually makes it a little bit easier to see. Your elevating the top of the tablet, so I don't think it's bad at all. I personally think the FE will do everything you needed to do. Honestly, I think 6 GB of RAM would be enough in your case.
      I think the only reason you would need to get the Tab S9 or the only reason you would need to upgrade the RAM, that's if you have extra extra expectations. Some people say they only need a tablet for the basics, but their expectations are extremely high because they come from a lot of flagship smartphones. So I guess it depends on your expectations. This will have the speed of something like the Galaxy a54 5G. And that is still pretty decent. If you're okay with that, I think you are really like this tablet and honestly I don't even think you need 8GB of RAM.
      Ram really only allows you to keep more apps open in the background. So if you open up TH-cam, you open up Disney, you open up Hulu, maybe you open up 10 apps like that. 6 GB of RAM might be able to handle 10 or 15 apps. 8. GB of RAM might be able to handle 20 or 25. When you finally get 16 apps open in the background, you might see the app restart because there's too many apps open. Then you will just have to wait extra couple seconds for it to open .
      Most of us aren't having 15 apps open at the same time. So it's honestly not a big deal. These tablets are optimized well. So if you're just watching videos and doing some internet browsing, I don't think you're going to need extra RAM. But if you find it for a similar price, obviously go for it.
      Based on my limited information, I would get the FE. And there's always a return policy if you don't like it. And if you use my affiliate links, it helps. Remember, I'm not just trying to give advice to get clicks. If that was the case, I would have just told you to buy the more expensive device. Just trying to help. I think the FE will be enough for you. But if not, no stress, you can always return it

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Obviously the tab S9 has a gorgeous screen. But do you really want to pay $800? The FE screen is still good. $350 is a big price difference. If you end up finding some good sales, or maybe you get a better trade-in deal on the S9 maybe that can influence you. Or if you just have the money. There's nothing wrong with getting a better device, even if you don't use it for much. But that's a lot of money to pay for bigger videos. Especially when you don't use the capabilities.

    I thought I wanted the ultra and bought the s9 FE thinking of getting the new ultra when it comes out. I have an iPad Pro 12 inch though and hardly use it due to size so I may just stick with a regular Tab S10 when it comes out

      It's such a tough decision. Right now I'm working with a tab S8 Ultra and a tap s9 Fe. Sometimes I'm just blown away by how amazingly Ultra is and I'm blown away by how great the screen looks. But then I lug it around and it is so heavy.
      Then I use the s9 Fe and it's so lightweight and I get so impressed with what I could do with a small form factor. I end up enjoying both. There's benefits to small form factors and big ones.

    Hi i am a student at college looking for a tablet to take notes/replace laptop for school work and also for media consumption. I like bigger screens.is the s9+ worth the investment in my case? I am trying to keep things affordable for myself. However i dont know if i should go for s8+ instead or s9fe+.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you're looking to keep it affordable, you might want to look out for a deal on the S8 Plus or the S9FE Plus. The S8 Plus is going to be near the identical. Just no water resistance. And a little bit of worse battery life. And less screen brightness. But it's going to have nearly the same power. Still 120hz on the screen. Still amoled. So if you don't want to a lot of compromise. But you want to save money. If you could find that really cheap from a very reputable source. I would recommend it. The S9 FE Plus is for those people that can't really find a great deal on the S8 + and they want to save an extra $200. Maybe they need water resistance. But it will be a little slower. You may be happy with all of them. But the S8+ or the S9+ are my recommendations

      Even with what you're saying, it's very hard to know what you would need. If you had a lot of large papers. I would at least recommend the tab S9 at a minimum. Only because extremely large college papers, like 30 or 40 pages, can sometimes create some lag on some slower devices. At that point, it's really just about size. To get a lot of good productive work done, the S9 Plus is probably the right size for you. Or the Ultra. I think the best thing for the buck is the plus. That's my personal opinion. You could definitely get away with the Fe plus or something with less power. But to be safe, you might want to go with the extra power

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly, it depends. For me it's definitely worth it because the tab S7 Plus released on an older software version, and it released at a time when Samsung was offering less software updates. Now they are offering a lot more updates, I'm pretty sure the S7 plus is out of updates now, at least bigger updates. So getting a lot more software support is a pretty substantial reason for me. If you want to save a little money, you could upgrade to the S8 Plus and you will get more software updates there as well and you can keep your keyboard case. The S9 Plus is slightly faster with water resistance. Overall, I think it's a good time to upgrade to it. But I get why someone might wait too

    Hi, I'm contemplating between getting S9 and S9FE. I mostly use my tablets for taking notes, reading e-books, editing documents, and sometimes watch movies. I'm planning to use it long-term for at least 5 years. And for the price, in my country tab S9 is almost twice the price of S9FE
    Do you think I should take the S9FE or it wouldn't meet my expectations? Or is it worth it if I add about 150 dollars to upgrade to S9FE for the extra RAM? Or if I add about 250 dollars to get the S8 instead?

    With FE, you have the limitations of samsung Dex. As far as I know, you cannot use a second external monitor or use your tablet as a second monitor for your PC. Also, you cannot use popular programs such as Super Display due to hardware limitations. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm just trying to figure this out for myself, as I plan to use the tablet for Photoshop and other desktop applications.

    so im currently using the tab S9 FE+ and it will not play any of my videos i recorded with my s24 ultra im guessing its because of the chip not being the snapdragon and im seriously considering taking it back to get the s9+ and there is no screen mirroring from my phone to this tab.. would i be justified in doing so?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I would definitely say that's not true. It's possible that it's recording it in that high efficiency format. If you go to your settings on your s24 ultra camera, so open the camera, then go to advanced settings, it has some high efficiency option. It's an option that even a lot of computers and video editors will struggle to read. If it's on, I would recommend turning it off.. if that's not it, I'm not really sure why. I don't think it's the processor though. Normally a video not playing has more to do with other factors

      Did you try recording new videos after that? Either way that's a little strange. Once you turn off the high efficiency video, newer videos you record hopefully will work. Either way I hope you can get it figured out. Definitely don't have that issue with my FE and my videos on my phones

    Planning to buy the tab s9, my doubt is - Is the 8gb variant of s9 sufficient as a medical student for reading books, taking notes and multitasking not into high end games, or is the 12gb variant a must, please comment. Thanks

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say definitely. I'm not a medical student, but for taking notes, reading books, even multitasking, 8GB is more than enough. I never had a single hiccup when going back and forth. You can have several apps open at the same time without them having to reload. I would have no concerns with 8GB of RAM. Some people will tell you to future proof yourself, but I think you're more than okay. If you see them within like $30, sure, get more RAM, but don't stress at all about it.

    Be honest with me. Is the 8gb RAM version of Tab S9 worth the price if my goal is to use the tablet for a long term? By this I mean, I plan to have this tablet with me for, ideally, a decade, if not for 7 years...

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you plan to keep it that long, you should probably just spend a little more and get the extra ram. I don't think most people will notice, but nothing wrong with playing it safe. It's only $100 more and sometimes less if you have various discounts. I'd get the extra ram in your shoes if I was really planning to keep it that long. But realistically, no, I don't think most people will notice a significant difference. I don't think time will play much of a role in that, but for a 7-10 year device? I'd get the extra ram

    I’m getting both s8 ultra and s9+ for 700usd. I’m leaning towards s8 ultra but doubting if sd 8gen 1 and 8 gb of ram would be a compromise. (I’m going to be a regular user. No gaming or editing)

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would really just think about what size of tablet you want. There are some benefits like water resistance and more software updates for the S9 Plus. And slightly higher brightness on the screen, and a better processor. But I would really think about what size of screen you're looking for. A lot of people think the ultra is the way, and I cannot tell you how many people in my comments end up changing their mind later and wanting to go down to the plus. And that's without any of the compromises you're talking about.
      If the screen size of the S8 ultra is that big of a draw. Then sure, go for it. But you are going to be compromising some to get that. And honestly, a lot of people do prefer the smaller screen size of the S9 Plus. Just some food for thought

    In terms of choosing WiFi or 5G options, I can’t seem to find any answers. If I choose the 5G tablet does it mean it doesn’t support WiFi at all? Which is weird bcz Apple devices is either WiFi+5G or purely WiFi only. Hope anyone can help confirm this..

    • @AndroidDigest

      You will need to look for a tablet that has 5g normally in the title. Yes, all 5G tablets also support Wi-Fi too. But most tablets aren't 5G. Like it's not an automatic thing. You want to make sure to look in the item description and the title. You should see either 5G if it supports cellular service. Hope this helps

      If you can afford any of them, just get the S9, S9 Plus, or S9 Ultra. Get the one that's the size you prefer, 11", 12" or 14.6". I think 12" is the good middle ground, so the S9 Plus is my go to recommendation. If money is even a little tight, the S9 FE or S9 FE plus are great options too.

    If i need a Tablet for MS office 70%, surf net 20% and note taking and reading 10% which one i have to choose : Tab 9 or Tab 9FE

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Well if you get a great deal on the Tab S9. And if you can afford it. If you plan to keep it for a long time too, why not?? It's a great device.
      Don't forget that you will need to get a Microsoft office 365 subscription to use Microsoft office on here. But outside of that, I don't think you will experience a lot of slowdowns on the tab s9 fe. You do need to have your expectations in check. I don't know what smartphones you're coming from, but the fe will perform similarly to the Samsung Galaxy a54 5G. It should be more than fast enough for Microsoft office, it will be great for taking notes. And it will still be good for basic usage and entertainment. You're not doing super high in gaming, so I don't think you're going to need the processor or the GPU that the tab S9 provides. But if you're used to the speed of very high end phones, you might get a little bit irritated with the tab S9 fe.
      You can always get a Bluetooth keyboard, it will work great with either of those devices. And things should be pretty speedy on both. For the basics. If you plan to go back and forth between 15 apps and do a ton of extra stuff, maybe get the tab s9. The screen does look a little nicer because it's AMOLED. So again if you can afford it or if you get a crazy good deal on it, go for it. Also, sometimes there are better trade-in deals on the more expensive devices so check those too.
      But it's going to be difficult to tell over the internet, how your expectations are and what will be best for you. Based on your description, yes I do think the FE is going to be enough for you. But obviously it's hard for me to say definitively. Luckily there's always a return period. So you could always buy one and try it out for yourself.
      Feel free to use the links in the description if you do. Even if you end up picking up in store. And for the record, I'm not telling you all this just to get an affiliate sale, if that was the case I would try to tell you to buy the more expensive one 😂. Both are great. And it's hard to be sure. But I think the FE will be enough. But again depends on your expectations

    Im here because i have a S23 ultra and bought a A9plus and just couldnt get past the fact the screen doesnt look nearly as sharp crisp smooth. For me i mostly watch youtube. And while the A9 plus 8G screen looks great in a vacuum it does..next to my s23 ultra it looks muted dull uninspired. Debated the FE and FE plus. S8 series. Went to samsung last night online and got discounts to a S9 plus 512G model for $749.99 by just asking. Even let me finance it 0% for 24 months. 33 a month. Ill be doubling and tripling up payments. The thing for me was the ip68 advabtage over the s8 series. Still got the A9 plus. Only had it 2 weeks already bought a s9 plus sheesh.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha. I hear you. When you have a $1,000 phone, it's easy to feel a little snobby with the screen. $749 is a tremendous deal for sure. In fact, they are used for about $800 right now. So you got a great deal. The A9 Plus is great for people who are okay dropping those expectations, but a higher resolution phone on a smaller screen, with amoled, can spoil you. Hope you enjoy the S9 Plus though! It's pretty awesome.

      @AndroidDigest I love it. Had to adjust the screen it looked yellow out the box. It's very fast. Screen looks phenomenal on HDR content. And even at the same 1080P side by side the A9+ looks better. Reds more red greens more green blacks are black. It makes a difference. I'd like to see a IPS display for a few days to test.

      😂😂😂 well this channel is called Android Digest. It's meant for people who actually use Android devices. You're comparing a laptop with no touch screen at all to a bunch of tablets. These are comparable to the iPads. Not to a random MacBook Air laptop. Which I could also say makes all the iPads null in void. The truth is all of these tablets are good and they are great for Android users, and they are very comparable to the iPads. Both iPads and Android tablets can be great. There are so many great iPads. But the truth is it depends on the user and what they need. So this video is definitely not voided 😂.
