    Got the Tab S9FE 10.9 inch variant with 256gb and 8gigs of ram! This tablet does everything I need, which doesn't include gaming. The display is really nice and being IP68 which I really didn't know about until my daughter dropped it in the sink with the water running is a nice touch of durability👍🏽. Understand one thing about Samsung products, u need to let the battery understand ur usage needs for a least 4 days or maybe sooner when u first use these products. I spent $487 W/ tax and got a free Smart Cover which is really nice 😊. Excellent tablet!!

    I got the S9 FE+ 12/256 GB for £730 from the Samsung UK website and I qualified for a free slimbook cover (you can qualify if you are between the age of 18 to 26 or if you can prove you are a student). I think this device is very reasonably priced after comparing it with the rest of the S9 series and Dex is such a game changer. As someone who just uses it for creating spreadsheets, typing documents, emails, study, note taking & entertainment purposes this tab has exceeded my expectations. Plus with the included S Pen it's a monster for a note taking machine. I spent £4 on the Penly app and use it as my yearly diary. I spent some extra money on a bluetooth keyboard & mouse and a stand for a the tab. I haven't used my laptop since I've got this device😮. The size is just so convenient! I compared it with the S9+ because I wanted the screen size. The battery life is the same as the S9+ (priced £999) and the FE+ & S9's front camera are both 12MP so it's fine for Zoom/video calls.I don't really care about the back camera as long as I can take clear enough pics of documents. So far I haven't had any problems with the processor and everything runs super smoothly even when I have multiple apps open at the same time. I would really like to connect it to a monitor in some way... I am yet to try this. But so far I love this tablet😊 I just couldn't get myself to pay a £999 for a "better" S9+ for the purpose I am using it for. Great vid!

    I agree, the FE's are solid tabs at a decent enough price. They'll meet the vast majority of people's needs. I would have bought a S9 FE 8/256 model and probably been happy. But I bought a S9 with 12/256 included for free solely because the trade in value for my S7fe (I wanted to drop to 11" for mainly handheld use) was $500 toward an S9 but only $300 toward an S9 FE. That made the difference in out of pocket cost was only about 50 bucks which definitely made sense to go S9. Some people just love to hate on Exynos chips and I'm not sure why other than it's a snob thing.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You made it pretty good choice. The extra trade-in value helps. And it's a great tablet for sure. And I agree. I don't love exynos all the time but it's not that bad. Pretty good processor still

    • @sashimijones
      @sashimijones 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The big reason people dislike the Exynos chips is their issues and lower speeds than Snapdragon. Personally for a budget tablet I think the exynos chips are fine. Imo the issue with exynos is when they put them in their flagship devices since they usually sell exynos/snapdragon based on region, so Europeans sometimes aren't able to get the better snapdragon chip at all.

    Thanks for the review! My S6 lite bought last Jan 2021 went to a boot loop a few weeks back this Dec so now I just wanna replace it instead of having it fixed.
    Based on my weekly activity back on my S6 lite, I spent most of my time here on TH-cam (I mostly watch anime here), and perusing Chrome. But one critical aspect is reading music scores. So I'm getting the bigger version.
    I just want a big screen for my consumption and the S9 FE+ fits the bill. I ordered it a few days ago and am definitely looking to it! Just hoping it arrives sooner than later!

    Got this one at a nice deal, 550 dollars with Galaxy buds FE included and a smart cover. The only thing that competes with this tablet is the s8, but the issue with the s8 is that depending on where you live, they don't have enough stock to decrease it's price. the s8+ would still have been considerably more expensive for me, probably because they just never made that many units of it in my country in the first place.

    I didnt want a 12" tab and did not need a $800 S9, I went with the FE cause my tablet use just doesnt justify the cost especially as I will probably upgrade sooner rather than later and it was only $399 (or zero with my tradeins at Best Buy) I also still have my Note 10.1 and it works fine as a Home Automation Dashboard and a still works as a drawing tab.

    In fact, I think IPS is better here than AMOLED. This tablet is probably the best for writing in its price category. IPS is more durable on merit displaying static images and usually comes without PWM, so it is easier on your eyes. So for me AMOLED is inferior, I use over 60% my tablets for writing and 30% - reading so IPS is a must for me in this aplication.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I see this a lot in my comments. There's a lot of people that prefer IPS

    • @miquene
      @miquene 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I couldn't agree more with you, AMOLED screens are backwards in terms of eye care. The pwm is an eye-burner. A pity that Samsung does not invest in removing the pwm from the amoled.

    • @MrAlexFortis
      @MrAlexFortis 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@miquene while I agree with you, I just wanted to remind, that PWM is present on all (even relatively) modern AMOLED/OLED screens but it is often not as bad (since brightness oscillate on AMOLED not from 100% to 0%) as PWM on IPS/LCD screens (but it is rare to see modern IPS screen with PWM, but I advice you to check nevertheless).
      In fact PWM is used on OLED/AMOLED to reduce and even burn-in wear😅

    Just bought one and I'm not really a power tablet user. I mostly use my macbook. As a person entering the tablet market, this is a great tablet with a few compromises that I don't mind since I don't want to pay too much for a tablet experience. Also, Samsung threw in the keyboard cover for free when I purchased it. The build quality really surprised me with how premium it feels, and the overall experience for basic writing (s-spen) has been really enjoyable. Love the big screen and responsiveness of 90hz. The expandable storage was also something that lured me in. The only downside would be Android apps still have optimization issues with resizing for tablets. Also, my battery experience is a bit weird. I don't know if it's just my unit but I lose 20% charge when I wake up in the morning. I'm still figuring out why...

    I think the question is whether to get the Tabs S9 FE Plus or the Tabs S8 Plus? both are very similar in price right now as you can find the Tabs8 Plus very discounted right now.. I would argue the Tab S8 Plus would be the better buy it's more powerful with a better screen. The only downside is you are losing a year of support and you're losing the IP68 rating but if you don't care.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It also depends on where you're buying it. It's $899 at best buy right now. Again if you're talking about buying second hand on eBay that's different. I would agree. And maybe even buying new second hand. But in the US at retailers I'm seeing the S8 Plus around $900. Even if it was $750. That's still even $150 more and that could be significant. But yes. I agree that if close to the same price the S8 Plus is worth it. I think I said that at one point in the video too. But I'm with you

      @zeppast 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AndroidDigest Yeah there were some extended Prime Day deals I was seeing before but those have ended now. You are correct though it looks like it's on average $900 now a significant difference vs $600. Used I'm seeing the Tabs 8 Plus for $579 on Amazon Renewed a bit cheaper then the Tab S9 FE but I'm not sure on how good Amazons Renewed devices are. Either way the Tabs 9FE is a good deal for $600.

    Great video as usual. I also saw your family post this morning. You are really an amazing person. Realized that for some strange reason I was not subscribed, so I clicked. As for the S9 FE(+) the main reason I think they are "overpriced" is because they price will go down in a few months. I thought the same thing of the S7FE at $530, after 6 months I got the maxed out version (8GB RAM 256) at $550 (the base is 4GB 64), which was a nice deal. The S9FE+ is an improvement in terms of refresh rate and water resistance (for those who care about that), and of course support, but is a sidegrade in terms of speed (same as the wifi S7FE and even a regression in terms of video out). I think those negatives have to be considered (if Samsung came out with a CPU that was the same 2 generations later many would criticize it), as it's fair to expect a more powerfull and capable device after one or 2 generation for the same price. Personally I'll keep my S7FE for a very long time, unless I find some amazing deal on the flagship models at some point (I also have the S8 ultra)

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much. Seriously. It means a lot. And I agree with what you're saying. I'll just add that you are getting 4 os updates with the S9 FE vs 0. Pretty sure the s7 fe is out of them. And they are offering good trades from what I've heard. That's the only thing I'd add. But I do agree. The price will probably go down soon

    • @_Digitalguy
      @_Digitalguy 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AndroidDigest I still hope it gets 14, the S7FE came with Android 11, contrary to the S7, so if it stops at 13 it would only be 2 major updates...But otherwise sure, 4 years is a step up even from 3. And mind you, I am not suggesting that the S7 FE is a better device than the S9 FE+, just that it's disappointing to see the same CPU performance after 2 years and the removal of video out... Having said that, I don't think that users of the S7 FE should stop using it even without new updates. Security on Android, as long as you install stuff from the Play store and from reputable companies is a non issue, contrary to something like Windows, or even MacOS, because of the locked down nature of the OS. And app compatibility is a non issue for many years. My lenovo yoga 2 pro with Android 5 still works with almost every app. That's definitely something you cannot say for something newer like IOS 9.

    Yesterday I traded in my Galaxy A7 for the S9 FE+. I did this direct with Samsung using the Samsung Shop app on my phone but had to go to Best Buy to pick up the Tablet. I'll have to ship the A7 this week. They allowed $75 for it so I'm thinking why not keep it; mostly likely I'll send it back as I doubt I'll use it. Aside from the larger screen, the colors are more vibrant and the stereo sound is good. Please note that this model only has USB 2.0 as compared to USB 3.0 with the flagship S9+ and S9 Ultra. Slower data transmission and charge speeds, I'm told. But hey, as I transferred all my data via USB C to C cable from the A7, it went pretty fast. I don't believe I can project the Tab on to a TV by USB/DP (DisplayPort), not sure. Doesn't matter; I usually cast TH-cam videos wirelessly anyhow. And the charging is fast enough for me. All told, I am very pleased.

    I would just recommend the OnePlus pad or ipad air 5/4 or tab s8 to most people the OnePlus pad gives 3 years software support which is honestly quite ok for most people if you want Samsung get the s8 or s8+ if you want the bigger display personally i wouldn't make such a big sacrifice in performance for just one extra year of software support i do see a point for the tab s9fe plus if you don't want to pay the extra cost for the s8+ or s9+ it could be a good option at 600 dollars if you really need the bigger display but i would just get a used s8+ if you dont want to then the s9fe plus is a decent even though its quite overpriced for what your getting. OnePlus pad is good option it has a 11.6 display a much faster processor and you are able to multitask although the pen does cost an extra 100 it can be a good option if you game and take notes . The s9fe+ is a good option if you need the 12.4 inch display and you aren't a heavy user if your going to be doing heavy multitasking or gaming get the s8+ or s9+
    I've used a S6 lite 2020 with Exynos it isnt bad but its not great for long time use i would recommend a tab s8 for most people 3 years of software support is more than enough.

    This is the one I'm planning on getting - refurbished on Amazon they're $380 right now, and they've got 3.5 years left in them until security updates end (the point at which I'm likely to get a new one) - not a bad price per year for a solid tablet for basic tasks, which I can then probably sell for a couple hundred bucks still based on the fact that the Tab S4 (2018) still sells for $120 six years later.
    On the other hand, the S9 Plus? Cheapest I found it was $700. 3 years of security patches left in it, and for what? A spec bump? My iPad Air 2022 I'm about to sell has excellent specs and I never pushed it anywhere near the limit, so why pay for high specs if they won't serve a purpose for me?

      The processors are nearly identical and speed between those two tablets. This would be great for entertainment and note taking and even though this tablet isn't terrific for gaming, like it's not a high-end gaming tablet, it's still decent for some games. I'd say this tablet should be pretty good for you. The S7 FE Plus did have a higher usbc port, USBC 3.0, which did allow connecting to a monitor through a USBC hub. So that's one advantage. One advantage. But outside of that, it didn't have a fingerprint sensor, it had less storage, and it won't get any more Android operating system updates. While this tablet will still get four. So it's definitely a better option in the long run

    Hello. I want to get a tablet for games and for my taste (and pocket) I am between S9 FE and A9+. Not 100% about the diff of panels but CPU and GPU and very important for me also. What do u think ?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The S9 FE will have a better resolution on the screen, slightly better performance, slightly better gaming. The A9 + isn't super far off as far as performance. But it's still behind in both areas. I guess it depends on the price difference. If you want a better screen and better performance, plus faster charging, the fe will be the way to go. Plus the fe is water resistant too.

    I don’t know much about the details and hz or anything really about the display, I just want your guys opinion. Do you think this would make a good school work tablet?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it definitely would. But it's still hard to answer that question for most people without more details. Like it depends on your expectations on how fast it is. It's going to be a little bit slower than something like a Galaxy s23 or even a Galaxy s22. It will have a similar speed to something like a Galaxy a54. If you are okay with that, you will really enjoy this tablet.
      Obviously some jobs require windows programs or things like that. Some schools even require a certain devices for certain programs. But if you're able to use an Android tablet for school and for work, this has a really nice large screen, it is fast enough for most things in my opinion. It has a great looking display. So I think it would do very good for school work and for taking notes

    Why are all the reviews skipping the 5G versions? It's a huge missing feature that is important for traveling anywhere outside

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Because that varies so much across country and state and even retailer. Sometimes there's a 5G version, sometimes there's not. Even when you do get it, it costs more. If you go to Best Buy right now, they won't have the 5G version there. It's really a specialty thing for a select group of people. And sometimes they don't offer a 5G version but then they offer it later, like 6 months later. So it's very difficult to give definitive thoughts on something like that when it's so different depending on the country, depending on the retailer, and especially since things change even a couple months down the line. I try to give reviews that will last. But yes, I know some people care about that. Just look for 5G or cellular in the title to see if its offered at a retailer.

But I am happy to report that the battery is pretty solid I've been using it pretty steady since 4:30 am and it is now as of writing this post 7:20 pm and I have 33% battery life left 😀 even ran a 35 minute errand across town using Google maps for directions and the GPS is decent.

      I just think some people would prefer the size. Outside of a little bit of extra performance, there's not a ton of benefits to the tab S8 over this. But I still get it. It's significant enough that if you find it at the same price, if you're okay with a smaller device, I would definitely recommend the tab S8 . But some people prefer the screen size and that's what this device is for.

    Can i ask a question i need some help. I need a tablet for note takimg and creating documents. This is the main aim of the tablet for meetings etc. I can get the tab s9+ FE with a keyboard book case for 700 euro or i can get an open box (excellent) from besy buy. A frd in the states cab pick it up for me. Ill never game on it , most ill do is watch movies on it. What one woukd you recommend ?
    I do like the idea of being able to connect to a tv or projector woth the +. Dnt think the fe + can do that?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So the FE and FE+ only have USB 2.0. So they can't use a usb-c hub. I did hear there may be a way to use an MHL adapter to connect to other devices. But the quality might not be quite as a good as it is with a hub normally. So I can't say for sure.
      This would be great for meetings, it would be great for some occasional typing, great for movies. All of those things. And with that large screen size, it definitely helps if that is what you prefer.
      Alternatively, you can look for something like the S8 Plus on the used market, maybe in mint condition. If you can find it close to the same price. But if you are okay with the limited display out option, I'd go with the S9 FE + if you end up saving enough money. If it's very close in price, I'd go with the S8 Plus, or the s8 if you are fully okay with a smaller tablet. But the size is definitely a big compromise.

      I definitely think it's worth the jump. I don't mind telling people to save their money. Like the tab S8 to the tab S9, I give them some reasons to upgrade, but I never tell them that they should or that they really really need to. In your case, if you do have the money, I do think it's a really worthwhile upgrade. You would get water resistance, the tablet would be faster, the screen would better. Can does this tablet handle multi app/multi window? How long will it last before it slows down compared to tab s9?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a complicated question. I'm personally under the impression that processors don't slow down too much over time. A lot of times the software does get bogged down, sometimes we need a good factory reset every once in a while, certain things like thermal paste may wear down. But I don't think you will see one processor wear down way quicker than another. You might notice the processor slowing down because it already is a little slower. But my point is, I wouldn't stress too much about that. I would just see if it's fast enough for you now. If you're really worried about it, if you're using it and you're on the edge, this device probably isn't for you anyway. But if it's more than fast enough for you now and you're enjoying it, I think you will continue to enjoy it over time. And you can always factory reset it if things get a little bit slow. Hopefully that makes sense.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes and no. If you're talking about official sales through Best Buy and through Samsung directly, they don't just leave the tab S8 on sale or the tab S8 Plus. If they did that, people wouldn't buy the tab. S9. So they intentionally leave the price higher and they only drop it for these one day special sales to get rid of inventory. But they don't leave the price lower, so they don't incentivize people to buy it over their other tablets. The price drops won't be as frequent as something as the FE devices. With that being said, if you go on eBay or a place like that and you're comfortable buying in mint condition, or comfortable with a little more risk, then yes, I would recommend getting a tab S8 Plus if you find it for a similar price

    What they should've removed is ip rating and given us a better processor as well as wired dex with external monitor support, the other compromises are fine but ip rating isn't pratical on tablet, I'd say get the tab s8/s8+ if you want to save cost in fact it's cheaper than fe + you could buy 256GB tab s8+ for under $600 vs $700 for a more inferior product plus it also has AMOLED as well, beaides ip rating which is not pratical the tab s8/s8+ is a better tablet than the tab s9 fe in ever way in fact the processor is a downgrade from the tab s7 fe wifi varient. So they should've given us bettet usb port which would allow wired dex, maybe 120hz and something like 8+ gen 1 processor. Ip rating is a waste of money which mant don't mention but rather phrase because think pratically is it worth the downgrade in favor of ip rating. So I'd say the sweet spot is either tab s8 or if you want larger screen get the tab s8+

      I will say the USB c port should definitely have monitor support and it should be USB c 3.0. it's a shame that it's not

      @@AndroidDigest would u agree that adding ip rating is a weird choice amd they should've given us a better USB c port, Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 processe and maybe a 120hz display in favor of ip rating because to be honest with you it's just an extra on tablet and not pratical.

      Right, I agree. But that does cost $900 in the US. Yes, if you find it on the resale market for cheap. That would work. Assuming it's a similar price
