Hey man, thanks for answering the question at the beginning of the video before explaining. If I can't stick around for the whole video, it's much less frustrating
I kind of wish that with the Tab S9 FE, Samsung would've done what they did with the S23 FE. That phone still has flagship specs from having an OLED display to a Snapdragon 8 series and having video out for Dex. I considered the Tab S9 FE Plus, but for 256GB, the pricing got too high. I got lucky enough to find a deal for the Tab S8 Plus.
Teacher here- I would use the tablet for lesson planning and attendance taking (WeSchool, Planboard), hand note taking (for meetings and courses), internet surfing with a lot of TH-cam videos, organizing and managing time and projects (with different apps, like Clickup or Asana), video chats and meetings with families and colleagues, using a lot of Google apps for Education (Classroom, Jamboard, Drive, Meet, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms). I have a lot of emails to write and send while at school. I would use it also for personal interests: watching movies (with earphones) on Netflix and Prime Video, journaling, watching music videos on TH-cam and reading and annotating ebooks. For work, I have to carry it around in my briefcase on buses and metro (I don't use a car), so it should be light and not too large. Would the S9 FE be enough for my needs, or should I buy an S8 instead? The latter is a bit out of my budget...
The S8 would be the way to go; with all that you’re planning on doing with the tablet, you’d be able to tap into some of the top notch power offered by the S8 without any worries. That said, you will be able to do all of that on a S9FE as well - however, I wouldn’t be surprised if you experience a little bit of lag every now and then(not often), if you have a ton of those apps opened at the same time. The lags wouldn’t be to the extent where it’s super annoying but I can see it happen. So if budget doesn’t allow, definitely grab a S9FE, it’ll do
Do not buy teh Tab S9 FE, you can´t connect it to an external monitor. The Tab S7 fe is fine but if you want to do photo or movie editing take the Tab S8 plus.I use the tab S7 fe use it for productivity except heavy editing but i use my mac for that anyway. Good luck.@@Mickeii617
Hi Lad, thanks for great and quick comparison. You have sealed the deal for me, for choosing S9 FE (LTE/5G,8GB, 256GB, IPS). I was looking for midrange tablet, though I had specyfic expectations, like LTE/5G modem, good specs, smooth work, making hand writen notes, but on a budget, money are not that much of an issue, but I have other expenses and if I could justify extra functionality, like the one with active pen or extra smoothness, but I don't play games, tablet is suppose to be used mainy as work/study aid, some latency, when I overload it is acceptable in higher mid range. I was looking for those as well with good price to performance ratio and it looks like S9 FE lands in the area I feel comfortable with and the water resistance sweetened the deal.
Really appreciate your comment I'm also going to be using it for schooling and not games. Every video always talks about the specs for the games and I'm like I don't care lol I barely even understand that portion of the videos.

I am an engineering student and would like to buy a tablet to carry with me. I intend to use it for various activities such as taking notes during classes, using the microsoft Office , working on small projects at university, and using it as a drawing tablet (graphic tablet) alongside my notebook. It doesn't need to be one of the models mentioned in the video. I already have a notebook that runs all heavy programs, but the reason for buying the tablet is that I want to stop carrying it every day unnecessarily because it is heavy, and I am afraid of damaging it. My budget is $400 USD, which would be ideal, but I am willing to pay up to $600 USD if it is much more advantageous and makes sense. If there is any other cheaper option that is more suitable, I accept suggestions. It doesn't need to be from Samsung, but it must be Android-compatible.
I'm a college student in the STEM field, biology/chemistry to be specific, looking to switch from paper to tablet because I can't keep track of all my paper notes as my classes progress and get more difficult. My main concern with tablets is note-taking and the support for apps like Microsoft Office. I have until around Late January of 2024 to decide which one I should get. Please Help 😭😭😭😭
@@IvanKam11I have this problem too ...s8 + with 128gb & s9fe+ with 256gb These are the ones I have selected for now ..which one is best for me..I want to use it for atleast another 6 yrs...plz help
Thanks for doing this comparison! Makes me relieved that I got an S8 last year. I appreciate the Dex mode once you hook the S8 upmto an external monitor since I do lots of productivity work and study as well.
can i use screen mirroring as an alternative for presentation etc in s9 fe? and please make a comprehensive video about performance of s9 fe. keep making such HQ contents your videos are great and to the point.
I recently started watching your videos and find them helpful. For myself I am looking for two tablets. One for personal and the other for work. I want to keep my stuff organized and separate so it's easy to just pick something up and know what I'm going to do with a specific tablet.
Also, I bought the S8 ultra and that works amazing in the productivity department. I have the A8 as well as a gift and it does the job but I think I would like something faster and possibly 5G to take with me on the go and use in my car. Nothing crazy but fast enough to do basic things like streaming, gaming, and leisure, plus slightly more. Something midrange and affordable but nothing over the top. That would be a perfect tablet for me on the go. S Pen would be a plus but doesn't have to have one. A phone jack for headphone would be nice. I know you can't gave it all but this is what I'm looking for. Also don't know if you recommend just having one tablet all together or two the way I'm doing it. Thank you!
I just made this choice without watching too many videos but looking at the prices and the specs, absolutely would agree with this review! Great video!
@yahiyatt I bought, S8. It's amazing. The best thing about it is it's speaker. The surround sound is really good, much better than my bluetooth speakers. Overall, I liked s8 more and chose to buy it.
So, what if I want to buy tablet for next school year? Which should I choose 9fe or 8? I am a medical student, so there will be 4 years of studies left. It would be a gift for myself if I don't loose my finansation this year. But I am worried about the lenght of software updates. I don't think that I would use it for games, however we do massive researches and I dont want it to lag.
Tab s9 FE+ I have it and it is super efficient and no heating at all trust that exynos 1380 ...I have already ordered the S23 FE and waiting for the full ecosystem experience.. go for it .. bigger screen is always an advantage..
The external display option is a game changer for me. Thank you for this review. I was about to get me the S9FE but didn't know it can't extend the screening. I'll try and look for a S8 instead. The S9 is a bit out of my price range
I am a student in STEM and I wanna buy a tablet primarily for studying - pdf/word reading and extensive note taking purposes, internet surfing (youtube videos/reading articles on google etc) and a little social media, sending emails, using apps like Google Classroom, using gmeet/zoom for calls etc, and maybeeeeee (definitely not much) some occasional light gaming and Netflix/Prime. I'm hoping it will (kinda need it to) last me at least about 5-6 years, so software support is definitely important for me. And I wouldn't wanna deal with any kind of lag either, especially considering my intended primary usage purpose. I don't generally keep 10 apps open all at once, I mean I don't do/look at 10 things at once, maybe 2 or maximum 3 at a time. And I do like the 12.4in size. Where I live, the tab s8+ is significantly higher priced. Considering that, would you recommend the tab S9 FE+?
If Tab S8 is only $100 more than S9 Fe, would that be worth getting over the S9 Fe? I would mainly use it for media consumption. Like Netflix, TH-cam, Prime Video and browsing the web. If i dont plan on using for high intensity gaming, should i just save the hundred and get the 9 Fe? I also carry it around while walking in the house.
for my personal priorities, I just can't see why I'd spend more money for better quality that I just... won't notice. especially if the cheaper one is actually the _newer_ of the two. after watching a lot of comparison videos, the difference between these two tablets mostly boils down to screen, chip, and stylus. I would never use the Bluetooth stylus features, and I won't be able to notice that I got the "worse" display and chip unless I had them side-by-side (and I'll only have a first gen iPad mini to compare it to anyway lol). I managed to get the S9FE with 256GB/8GB new for about $450, _including_ tax and shipping, while all new 128GB/8GB S8's seem to be $500. a better display and chip that I will hardly notice just won't make me spend an extra $50+, _especially_ with half the storage and potentially a slightly older battery (and battery is something I actually _do_ really care about). oh, and for the S9FE not having video OUT, that's fine by me. I would rather use it AS the second monitor, which seems to be possible (even if it's only wireless).
Small detail but I think Samsung should've kept the contrasting glass strip across the back of the device that the S8 had. It helps Samsung flagships visually stand out from the rest. Also does it make sense to get the base model with 128/6 S9FE. Would it be good enough for reading and note-taking as those are the main reasons, I am deciding to pick one up.
I thought the same thing; they should've left that glossy strip on the flagship ones. Yup yup, the Tab S9FE would be perfect for what you mentioned there.
Thank you. You're video was very clear with important details, like which can be attached to an external monitor. Also, I like how you gave your conclusion at the beginning, but then very important details later.
Possibly the best "side by side" comparison I've found. Yes, even the Tech and Android guides. One suggested change.... You spend sooo much time repeatedly saying "Samsung Galaxy Tab" when we know what they are. It's okay to truncate down to say "S8" or S9." We know it's the FE model. Almost had to exit the video because it gets really hard to follow when "Samsung Galaxy Tab... " is repeated several times a minute. But excellent review. Good for the layperson & techie alike.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback - interestingly enough, it is actually done on purpose, given the way TH-cam indexes keywords, and the way it works with SEO; in other words, it helps put the video in front of even more eyes. I certainly will mind it in future videos, as I've seen a couple more comments in other videos highlighting that.
Hey! Love your videos, how thorough and honest you are. I know this is an old one, and I hope you can read it and help me out. So, right now I have an A9+ 8GB that I'm using as a laptop replacement for work stuff, but it feels a bit slow (some medium to large sprradsheets that are manipulated a lot via data comparing formulas, interacting a lot with web based voip management, stuff like that). Also, the 11 inches are limiting my prpductivity. I ALMOST got an S8 ultra on a pawn shop, at an incredible low price, but someone beat me to it, so now I'm considering either a S9 FE+ or an S8+. There is a noticeable price delta between them, so, my question is, do you think the S9 FE+ could give me a good enough boost from the A9+ 8GB? I know that the S8 would be better and faster, but budget is somewhat limited and if I can save a few bucks I'd be glad, but only if the performance boost with the s9 fe+ is noticeable. Thanks in advance for your help!
It's the first time that I want to buy a tablet and I thought about buying the S9 Fe or the S8, I really want to use it to watch videos, read and play and undertake to be a community manager like editing videos and photos for social networks so I don't know if I should buy the s9 fe or S8 ):
Happy New Year! I initially had an S2 when it first came out and I loved it until it stopped receiving updates. I replaced it with a A8 almost 2 years ago and I have had consistent issues with it not wanting to charge unless I do a hard restart. I'm over it and want to purchase something else. 99% of my usage is for reading and some web browsing and email reading and occasional youtube videos. No gaming at all. Your opinion then on a better replacement for me. The S8, S9FE or something else. Appreciate your great videos

Ive never had a tablet. Does it turn written text into typed? Like if i was taking notes in a lecture or studying would it be easy to write on? Can i use word on it ? (I dont have a laptop) If not is there a way to write essays & turn them into a pdf or word doc ? I dont have internet at home, can i hotspot data off my phone so the tablet can access the internet? What does 5g connection mean vs wifi connection? Thank you soooooo much
The answer is yes to those questions: you can turn writings into typed text using Samsung Notes. It also supports MS Word and the rest of the MS suite. You can definitely hotspot and use the tablet to connect. 5G in this context is simply your ability connect your tablet to 5G cellular data where you pay monthly for internet/data. Wifi in this context is simply being able to connect your tablet to the internet using a wifi or even hotspot connection

So I am leaning samsung s9 FE. There is no comparison video for pixel though and I haven't had chance to experience it in a store either. What confuses me between ipad and s9 fe is that I have heard that sansung tabs don't last as long (max 5 years from what I have heard) and ipad that I had earlier lasted 8 years. Is this true? Hello happy thanksgiving, I have a question or problem, I’ve had the s9 fe 10.9 inch for about 2 weeks now, I really like but about 3 days ago it started shutting itself off for around 20 to 30 minutes and can’t get it started until it cuts itself back on again, I’ve never seen this in any tablet I owned, is this normal and is there some type of setting to stop it, or maybe it’s defective, I’ve boxed it up and prepared to take back, if you reply thank you.
Hello there. I have an S5 Lite that I should change and I do not want to break the bank for an S9 but I am looking at the S9FE for photo editing on the go...at home i have a desktop that I would not replace but for when I travel I find the table more confortable than a laptop. Nevertheless, It would be interesting to know if S9FE ( the 8 GB RAM version ) is enough for photo editing.
My sister and I both purchased the Tab S6 back in 2020, and we're both thinking of upgrading now. I'm already planning on purchasing the Tab S9+ in the morning, but I'm doing comparison research for her. She's uninterested in the S9 line due to the lack of color choices, but the S9 FE line caught her eye. I recently shared this video with her, and I'm waiting for her feedback. I am curious to know if you have a Tab S6 (not the Lite) lying around that you could do a comparison video with the Tab S9(+) FE
Nice! Unless she plans on undertaking massive high GPU hungry projects, I think she’ll be fine with the FE. Unfortunately I got rid of my S6 a while back, but even without having one in hand for comparison, I’d still go S9FE (4 years support, bigger battery, fast charge, updated front facing camera, etc) over the S6…
I have the original Tab S6 (the one you have), and I just did a trade-in for the Tab S9 FE and ended up only paying $200. I have both side by side, and what I can tell you is that if she doesn't mind a downgrade to the display, video output, and losing air actions with the S Pen, it's worth it. You get a brand new tablet with 4 years of software support, smoother 90hz, arguably better build quality, and overall better feel. It's a nice "upgrade".
Hi, in my country the price difference between S9FE and S8 is around 250 dollars. Which one do you think I should take, or should I take S9FE+ which is around 150 dollars more expensive than S9FE but has bigger size? I plan to use my tablet mostly for note taking, reading ebooks or notes, editing some documents, and watch movies. Thank you in advance
I'm hesitant to buy S8 because it has a lot of price gap with S9FE and it was released 2 years ago. Do you think because it was release 2 years ago, it would be harder to use it for longer term (perhaps no more updates, much less specs compare to the ongoing products in the future, etc). But I'm also hesitant to buy S9FE because of the processor that might make it not last long. So I've been thinking to buy S9FE+ because of bigger RAM in hopes that it will last longer than S9FE and because with the extra price I can get better RAM, battery, and bigger size (since I mostly use it to study, read, and taking notes) Please help telling me what you think about it Thank you in advance
I bought galaxy m54 phone with this same processor which is exynos 1380 and I also hope to see it last long. I am confident that exynos 1380 will get through atleast 3 years of software update so I recommend you s9 fe . What you told your use case is very basic and you don't need s8 . Basically s9 fe but you can go for s9 fe plus if you are willing to spend more
Love this video. I do many things on my tablet and phone including Switch emulation. When it comes to Switch emulation, nothing can beat Snapdragon chips with custom drivers, only exist for SG chips for now. There is no other choice for me.
I am student, I'm looking for a tablet within the budget of 500 dollars and I will most probably use it for taking notes, graphic design, presentations, online meetings, reading books and sometimes gaming.
Would the S9 FE do the job for a student for note-keeping and to use during my studies and will it still be fast and reliable in 2 or 3 years' time? Or should I save a little longer and opt for the S8? Thank you for the video

Omg your video playlist literally answered all of my questions around every samsung tablet series. Thank you so much for making all of the videos!!

Good video .

Yes indeed!!

I'll wait for a good sale to grab the s8, honestly exynos is a no go for me
Thank you. Your video was very straightforward. Definitely choosing S8. Keep up the great work Man!

Tab S8
As a future med student myself I’ll recommend FE+ for note making or normal researches
go for s9 fe+ for student it is too good with 4 years update and big 12.4 inch screen then s8
S8 or the S9fe Plus?
Go for the Tab S8 if you can.
In my country Tab s9 FE costs more than Tab s8. And Tab Tab Fe plus variant is also priced higher than the price of Tab s8 plus
I got my 9fe for $350. No way would I spend more for thst. Shit I was going to get an s6lite before I seen this sale.

Even the most basic Chinese tabs would take notes and u can reading them

Thank you for watching fam🙏🏾
And what about using canva for design work ? Would it be good for that ?
it would - but if you will be doing heavy projects, consider a S8 or S9.
Good for the layperson & techie alike.
agree with you
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback - interestingly enough, it is actually done on purpose, given the way TH-cam indexes keywords, and the way it works with SEO; in other words, it helps put the video in front of even more eyes.

I am a student and I need a tablet for notes taking and will use it for 5 years. Which tablet should I take????
So I've been thinking to buy S9FE+ because of bigger RAM in hopes that it will last longer than S9FE and because with the extra price I can get better RAM, battery, and bigger size (since I mostly use it to study, read, and taking notes)
Please help telling me what you think about it
Thank you in advance
I bought galaxy m54 phone with this same processor which is exynos 1380 and I also hope to see it last long. I am student, I'm looking for a tablet within the budget of 500 dollars and I will most probably use it for taking notes, graphic design, presentations, online meetings, reading books and sometimes gaming.
Hey,
I am looking for a tablet for sketching and the tablet should last longer
Which one should I buy?
Tab s8
Which would you choose if they were the same price of $399 ?
i would only use it mostly on Illustrations, which one is better?
Tab S8
Would the S9 FE do the job for a student for note-keeping and to use during my studies and will it still be fast and reliable in 2 or 3 years' time? Or should I save a little longer and opt for the S8?
Thank you for the video
Yes it will.
hello.?.? And gps on s9 fe not working?
I asked thison your previous s9fe-s7 fe comparison?
any news on this gps issue?
In the eu samsung community there are now 3 people with this issue including the 2nd replacement they got. Netherlands, germany and united kingdom. Plus 1 person on rediit....
So far it works on mine here in the US. Not sure if it’s region specific
@@IvanKam11 thank you for checking. There was feedback from samsung on eu community that a software uodate would come in december. It is a software issue but then maybe only in .europe version. There are 9 in total , including replacement. Some confusion because someone said it did work but that was using the wifi not the actual gps of the tablet.
@@IvanKam11 there is 1 prrson on us samsung community stating samimg isue. Gps not working with google maps or other gps apps....
But tjere is a softwere patch coming so still going for s9 fe.
I just need a decent tab to read a lot of documents online and do basic stuff with Microsoft office. No gaming. I don't know which I should purchase. Also do I need 5g? If so, why?
Tab S9FE. No you don't need 5G - you can hotspot from your phone.
I have a Samsung tab s6 lite 2022 . So does it have a seance to switch it for s9 FE? Please 🙏
It depends - if you want to do it because of performance, I'd say NO - move to the S8 instead. Otherwise, if you want the longer support, water resistance, better display and so forth, then yes.
