My gma was run over by a wagon when she was 12 ! Now real Dr back then and she was laid up for a year. Her hip also died. But she pressed thru. Married and had 8 children and worked hard all her life. She lived to age 92. What a treasure ! Prayer for Johna complete healing in Jesus name
My GMA was run over by a reindeer and sleigh at Christmas. She died.
I was thinking what trials people had in the past with injuries without the help that is available now. Your grandma tells it all. What a blessing to you. Jonah is a miracle. I believe he would have had pain most of his life if they had not miraculously found the fold in his cartilage. That was a blessing from God. It is touching to see him recover.

I'm so glad to see an update thank you! There is something called neurolinguistic programming and our words can strongly affect our healing. I suggest NOT using the words "My dying hip" or "My son's dying hip." Replace it instead with "My healing hip" and "My son's healing hip." I experienced dramatic healing once I eliminated negative words that were programming my subconscious and my body. Stay strong Jonah, you can do this!

The words we speak are spirit and they are life. Words are power. They put into motion that which was spoken. Words literally activate the atmosphere. There is no differentiation between a “joke” word... (hahaha I’m dying,) a casual phrase or a medical fact. Speaking death is speaking death. They create and confirm and as literal forces, they do not exist without purpose. They are not idle things floating around. There is nothing idle in this Creation. Every single seed, molecule, atom has a purpose. These words have purpose to do whatever they were invoked to do so if we SAY a thing is dying, dying it is. We speak life, only life, and life always. We bless with our lips and invoke life in all circumstances. Death is a curse. May death and cursing never be found in our mouths.

Oh Jonah, I’ve had rods and screws in my back (L4 to S1) a hip replacement, a knee replacement and a shoulder reversal joint. I use yoga stretches and warm water therapy. I also have MS, I’m in a wheelchair and I will be 70 in November. Yoga stretches is so very important!!! Yours so young and with the help of your parents and therapists you will fully recover. It takes dedication, patience and time to get your muscles to heal. I will be praying for you….

Isn’t the shoulder reversal remarkable?! My husband had that with excellent results. He was 65 at the time. Now three years later he has no problems with it at all.
Such a great young man. I feel so bad that he is missing a bit of normalcy now, but he is determined to get over this hurdle. May God bless him with a fast recovery.
Have y’all considered stem cell therapy? That’s what I’m looking into for my knee, to avoid knee replacement. They can use your own cells, or from somewhere else.
I love that Josiah is so supportive of Jonas’s healing journey, by doing so much of it with him.
Yes, those two remind me of my cousin's twins. Even tho one is male and the other is female, they are uniquely connected. When the family was on vacation and their son was skiing and had a bad accident, their daughter immediately developed severe abdominal pain which caused them to take her to the local emergency hospital. Consequently the parents were right there when tge ski patrol rescue group brought in their son. That allowed them to take him immediately into surgery whuch saved his life. Aa soon as he went into surgery, tge daughter's pain evaporated. Another time, when they were both adults, theur son called home from vacation in Hawaii to ask his Mom what in the world was wrong with his sister as he had been having abdominal cramps and crying for over an hour. Turns out she was in labor with her first child. Although Mom told him to stay and enjoy his vacation, he decided it wasn't worth it and flew home to meet his niece.
Jonah and Josiah are two peas in a pod and are so in tune with each other! Although Lily is an only girl, she fits in with them, helping, supporting, and being herself. Loved tge video clip of the boys trying to teach her to ride tge motor bike, holding it fir her, showing her all the controls, then running along side shouting encouragement and directions. And, of course, being right there when she crashed to help her out and up, ensuring she was OK, and telling her not to worry, they've crashed, too. It will be great when/if Gideon and little Henry can develop that kind of relationship although they are multiple years apart.
Prayers for complete healing for Jonah, and support for the rest.

I know of someone who had stem cell therapy done on his cat, who's death was imminent from kidney failure! (It's expensive, but he has the money!). They harvested the stem cells from some fat cells in the cat's own body then multiplied them in a petrie dish before re-introducing them back into the cat. The cat made an amazing recovery and is putting weight back on.
I was wondering if yoga would help him.

I absolutely love teaching kids both household and farm chores. You never know what you’ll have to do in life.❤
And with basic kitchen skills they will never starve. You can always scramble a couple of eggs or make yourself a grilled cheese sandwich! And clean up after yourself.
Medical massage will also help Jonah’s muscle tension. Keep up the foam rolling of those hip flexors! Mom knows what she’s talking about 😊Speaking from 18 yrs experience in the industry

It's wonderful to see that holistic medicine is being used along with a western medical doctor. And that Josiah is an encourager for Jonah plus Gideon. Godly men are being built one day at a time.
There's something to be said for trying alternate holistic treatments. However this family seems to go overboard. Cupping is just about as legitimate (sic) as reflexology and homeopathy (that is to say, it's quack medicine). There there is a lot to be said for work to move lymph, but this is _not_ the way to go about it.

Yep, he is unconsciously “guarding” and “compensating” and that tightens up the muscles….I do the same. His scar looks like mine! Acupuncture is what keeps me going and gets me out of pain!! My tight back muscles made my PT sweat when doing myofacial work on me! The stretching helps my hip also, along with strengthening work from the PT! My pelvis was also torqued causing pain in my lower stomach. I am so glad you all are seeing the best doctors for your child🙌🏻🙌🏻 some folks cannot do that!! Prayers…Hopefully the bone is still alive!

A small silver lining is now all the kids will have an even better understanding/appreciation for taking care of their bodies. I never would have thought there could be so many complications at such a young age. He and his parents are doing all they can to get him through this and we can only hope and pray for complete healing. You are a determined young man, Jonah, you've got this.

I have a really tight soar back and have been working on it seriously this last couple years. the stretches the physio suggested for the back and hips are a regular part of my routine. being proactive on it while he is also still growing, he's got this. Building those health daily habits a bit earlier than most of us have to give it thought. not a bad thing in the long run. great to see the progress. you got this Jonah, on that recovery and feel good journey :)

I'm glad to see him using yoga poses in PT. I have an old and recently reinjured SI joint and hip injury and the poses you showed are some that have helped the most. He'll get there.

My daughter has been battling congenital hip dysplasia since she was 11 months old. The doctors at 11 months old tried to reset her hip and ended up cutting off the blood flow to the ball on her hip. She has had 5 hip surgeries so far by the age of 11 and she will have more threw out her life. She does her best to not let it effect her but as she is getting taller then she will have to have more surgeries. Heal up and take your time with the road to recovery.

This was hard for me to watch. When my husband was younger he had a similar accident. Developed avascular necrosis of the hip. We did all these same things, even the cupping. That was the hardest part of watching this video. Nothing worked for my husband. But boy, did he give it everything he had, just like Jonah. He ended up needing a total hip replacement. To say we were devastated is an understatement. We found the best surgeon, world renowned. Flew to Houston for the surgery and flew home 2 days later. Surgery was in May and only lasted 30 minutes. My husband was able to run after 8 weeks and skied that December and continues to ski every year. He has lived a totally normal life with a freaking hip replacement! I'm praying for total healing. But if total healing doesn't happen, please know a totally normal, hardworking and athletic life is possible. You just need the right surgeon.
That is one hard working kid. Somebody to be proud of. He definitely should be proud of himself.❤😊

I was shouting "amen" when Rebekah was describing what she knew was wrong with Jonah's hip. Great job doing your research and chasing the answers for your boy! You might want to look into myofascial release - usually done by a PT with massage. For kiddos with cerebral palsy, it often gives more of a release of the muscles that need to be loosened and lengthened. Praying you continue to get answers and see progress!

I am so glad this episode showed up on my feed. I have noticed how well he walks this year and wondered how he made such a miraculous recovery. I am thrilled to see it was the combination of one of my chiropractic colleagues, acupuncturist, and physical therapists who helped Jonah go from the life saving surgery and bone death to normal hip function. See, there is a place for all of us in modern healthcare. No chiropractor, acupuncturist, nor physical therapist would have been able to save his life at the time of the accident. Then again, no surgeon or medical doctor is going to take the body as far as the healthcare trio did. Caveat: doctors of osteopathy have training beyond a medical doctor and can manipulate the spine. I just personally think we chiropractors are a better choice for specific joint mobilization and neural health care. Thanks for reading my entire panegyric.
Dear Jonah, It'll be okay if you don't walk the same way you used to. You find other ways to do things you've always done and it works just as beautifully well as they did before. Love, an old woman who went through a major joint accident and was never quite the same, but still runs the mail like a beast and runs her homestead like a queen.

What a trouper he is. Such brilliant therapies he is getting as well. I’ve had about 50 fractures and a couple bad breaks in my time, both hips when I was 3 years old. Being knocked down only makes your getting up stronger. He has a brilliant future with such a fantastic attitude and a great family unit behind him. I’ve been working with a chronic pain specialist the last six months or so on an injury I’ve had for 27 years (since I was 17!) that all my other doctors for years had told me was untreatable/incurable and I’d need to learn to live with it. I’ve experienced 6 amazing weeks so far this year with hardly any pain at all for the first time as an adult and it’s just … freeing and heartbreaking all at the same time. Because now I know I didn’t have to suffer all these years, but I also understand better now that it’s not the original injury that’s still causing my chronic pain, but my body compensating for and bracing for the return of that pain that’s causing it now. Frustrating, but not insurmountable. A solid, knowledgeable PT is the 8th wonder of the world, if you ask me. 😆

I am sure it’s already been suggested, but we went to a wonderful osteopath with my daughter when she was a brand newborn with wry neck. Osteopaths perform miracles with the structural foundations of the body and they often promote a type of naturopathic lifestyle that is in line with your own. We love you and pray for you all constantly. Thank you for everything you share.

For goodness sake! I admire your hard work and your family... please offer all the professional help and Time to Jonah and allow him to recover! The poor boy has suffered so much, his bone is dying and he is limping. As soon as he returned from his third surgery you put him back to hard work and recently you took him to work at Brie's garden; Jonah worked harder than some adults to include his parents!!
Give him time to recover!! ....and hide the truck keys before your under age boys have more accidents.

Jonah's mother ought to take over his chores, stop the sweet/smart talk and let her son to fully recover from such a traumatic experience. Three surgeries, three times under full anesthesia and a lot pain in such a short period of time for such a sweet young boy! What a shame!

@@mariamaricle5473 Rebecca is clueless, but likes to play the part of a healer. Look how many problems Justin has because he refuses proper medical care and instead listens to his wife. I hope Jonah doesn’t have to go through all these issues because of alternative medicine.

When I was in the 1st grade, and while at school, my hip gave out and I fell off the jungle gym. They took me to the er to figure out the cause. That led to many orthopedic dr visits and weird boots on my feet while I slept at night. I was diagnosed with Legg-Calve Perthes. it was a wild ride and caused me to wear crutches for two years. They wanted to perform a hip replacement when I was 13, but my mother absolutely refused, giving the reason as the technology was right at the time.
They allowed me to do swimming and that helped strengthen the socket. which in turn helped me do everything the other kids were doing by the age of 12. I still have pain today, at 35, and it is no where healed. But I live a normal life even without the hip replacement.
Thank you for sharing this journey with us. I wish your son much recovery and healing.
Great work Jonah, I feel confident your body will respond to your efforts. Only thing I see to add, is actually talking to your hip. Express love and gratitude and communicate that you need it heal.

I don’t want to be rude but I think I need to say this. I am very concerned about you all trusting your sons health to those so called holistic practitioners. It’s my opinion you cannot heal bone atrophy with cups and acupuncture. It may make you feel good but it’s at the risk of permanently damaging your child’s healing and growth. Listen to your orthopedic surgeons advice.
Well said. This family simply refuses to be under the care of proper doctors specializing in these areas.
Holistic PT sounds great! Does she work with the fascia and do Visceral therapy too? Those will also help too!

Hi I have always admired Jonah,his kindness, intelligence, he is so hard working. I am not so sure about the cupping, a medieval atrocity that can leave scars. Someone mentioned an elevated shoe or boot, I think this is an excellent idea as his other hip is compensating for the inefficient injured side. My father had one leg shorter also due to a severe injury during WW11. Physical therapy is miraculous. I think he needs time to heal and should rest, like someone wearing a plaster cast. I would be worried sick as I’m sure you both are. How brave you all are. I sincerely hope your son recovers and I pray to give you all the strength to get through this. 🙏🏻 God bless you all. Xx

My favorite healing modalities are chiropractor and acupuncture/reflexology. I have a neurological disorder, aka spinal cord injury. I am too vain to use a wheelchair. It is nice to see the Rhodes exposing Jonah to several modalities to see what helps most. Jonah has an amazing drive to thrive.
