I can't believe it. It worked!!! Many years ago, my friend next door was moving and gave me the same ps2 adapter and I have kept it safe in my bedroom closet for like 8 years. Low and behold, I plugged it into the PS5 and its playing Sims 2 and original Star Wars games!!! Thanks for sharing.

This is great. For real, though, Sony could’ve added PS1 - PS3 backwards compatibility to the PS5 since emulation is more CPU-intensive and my Ryzen 5 3400G could emulate PS3 games with RPCS3 pretty well at 1080p60. The PS5 CPU is probably even more advanced than that and Sony can probably make better emulators than Mednafen, PCSX-ReARMed and PCSX-R-PGXP (for PS1), PCSX2 (for PS2) and RPCS3 (for PS3). And as you said, this is just Sony being anti-consumer. If SIE was still headquartered in Japan and they saw PCSX2 and RPCS3, they would 1-up those emulators by creating their own PS1, PS2 and PS3 emulators for PS5. The PS4 probably could’ve never handled a PS3 emulator, not even the PS4 Pro. Sony America was probably to blame for the PlayStation Classic, which used PCSX-ReARMed, Japan probably would’ve used the same PS1 emulator for PSP but maybe upgraded.
bob Metal Gear Solid 4, ICO, Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy, God of War Saga, God of War: Ascension, Resident Evil Code: Veronica X HD, and many more. At least all the Yakuza games are on PS4 now and it’s only a matter of time before they all come to PC. sadniqqahours RPCS3 is developing really well and I swear that Sony could probably make a better emulator than that since they still probably have all the required data and they have much more money and people than a ragtag bunch of independent coders.
