Today I'm refinishing my parents' kitchen table. They've had this table since I can remember -- I think likely since I was in about 5th grade. Over the years it's become worn in and worn down so it was time for a makeover.
I cleaned it, sanded it, and painted the base. I put Polycrylic water-based top coat over the raw wood parts, and painted the rest. At first we tried using Dixie Belle furniture paint but we didn't like the color, so we pivoted and tried using Paint Girl paint converter to turn the cabinet/wall paint into something that could adhere to furniture like chalk paint!!

I’ve added a mixture of plaster of Paris and water to latex paint to make chalk paint. It works great as well. You did a great job!

Love the grey a lot better. But a little confused, you said you used your palm sander because your orbital sander broke, but in the next clip you were using your orbital sander lol.

Love when your new video comes out. I enjoy your projects. I’ve used BB Frosch paint converter on my kitchen cupboards. I also recommend using a paint converter to colors you want to use that can’t be matched in a chalk paint.

I love this table, I have one I am getting ready to redo. Big question, what exactly is the name of the color of your mom's kitchen walls? I painted mine a grey that was supposed to look like this, but, it looks blue. Not my favorite color. Help!
