Whenever one sees Nu Labour at work it is deeply underwhelming. When the position of a political Party is counterfactual, it makes a fool of anyone who adheres to it. Ash gets a lot of flak for pointing out the obvious inconsistencies in their line.
This is how they all do. They talk over the sensible person, make ridiculous noises, roll music, and “oh look at the time, right this was fun.”
I first grew aware of Ash when she called Piers Morgan an idiot. She has not disappointed me since.

I was extremely *unimpressed* with presenter/chair Jo Coburn, in allowing all the other participants to shout Ash Sarkar down whenever Ash attempted to speak. This in and of itself demonstrates a considerable political bias on Coburn's part, just as it does on the part of the editors and producers of this program. Whatever happened to free speech? If someone with whom they disagree is shut up so blatantly, and with such hostility, then what has become of our nation?
The BBC are always like this, they let the right wingers say whatever they want but jump in to undercut leftist pundits at any opportunity.

People are so easily led into punching down. From rich to poor, from white to people of colour, from human animals to non human ones, the machinery and the rhetoric encourages fear of those we should least be afraid of.

The way she talks to Ash Sarkar is just illustrative of the dismissive attitudes of Labour and the racism entrenched, I'm horrified listening to it. Her voice crack broke my heart, solidarity to Ash - you are doing such incredible and important work and don't deserve to be treated with such disrespect.
Labour made it the easiest ever for other races to represent their party. They caused a great many more of them to live here as well.

The fact that the shadow home sec's only issue with migration policy at the moment is that it's not been done fast enough speaks volumes. And let's not negate the fact that the forde report found a hierarchy of racism within the party, with antiblack racism treated the least seriously - institutional racism stands even if there have been some progressive steps. The fact that you have come here to reply to me to negate this racism on a clip where a brown woman is telling white people about this and they are dismissive is also quite illustrative of an unwillingness to listen and take accountability, which are the most important steps towards fighting racism.

I've sometimes founded it useful, when some asshole shouts over me in public, to say "are you terrified of allowing me to speak uninterrupted?" What ever they do, you win. If they shut up, you just win the argument. If they continue shouting, they prove your point.

McDonagh joined the Labour Party in 1981, I joined in 1973. A year later we won a general election with a manifesto that promised genuinely -and permanently - transformative economic policies. It went way beyond what Jeremy was promising and, prior to Thatcher dismantling them, delivered key parts of them.
There has never been a scintilla of antisemitism in the Labour Party in all of that time and believe me: if there had been I'd have known about it and I'd have kicked off about it.

I am grateful and proud that my adopted country of the Republic of Ireland has a Boycott, Sanction and Divest policy toward the illegal apartheid state of Israel.
Wish mine did. I got told by a member of Labour's NEC that the BDS movement was antisemitic after I challenged his assertion that he stood up against racism of all kind. I said if that was the case he'd support the BDS movement and that was his response. Says all you need to now about the Labour party.

What exacly did Corbyn say or do that was antisemetic? Litteraly the only things I can find is that labour had complaints about antisemetism during his leadership. I never heard what those was or how legit they were. I fear that those complaints was about people supporting Palestine.
