    Vehicles filmed at Dealerships are For Sale. Make sure to visit the dealerships website for detail info about each vehicle. If your watching a video thats older than 90 days you can expect that vehicle to most likely already being sold, unless its a new car.
    FYI - Charleston Car Videos on TH-cam Started in 2011. Back in 2008 is when I started filming cars as a car salesman to give people a better way to see a new or used vehicle. Over the years I ended up selling over 450 vehicles from doing videos. Today 1000's of vehicles have sold from people using my car videos to sell cars at dealerships all over the South East Region.
    I'm Chad Dolbier the creator of CCV. After High School I was unsure of what to do for a career as many young adults are. Instead of going to college I decided to start working in the car business in 2000. My first car job was at Acura of Charleston being a car detailer/washer. In 2003 our Acura store started to clear land next door and built Audi of Charleston. After a few years passing and still detailing Acura's & Audi's in 2005 I was asked to be a car salesman. In 2006 I started the Internet Department for Acura & Audi. Then in 2008 is when the car videos all started up! 2010 is when I left Acura & Audi and started my own car dealership video business. So far today I've built TH-cam channel for over 18 car brands & dealerships. So enjoy my channel and hopefully you can learn something new! As always I enjoy learning from you as well so make sure to send me your feedback!

      The F150 STX is the most 'bang for your buck' truck. It is a step above an XL and below an XLT with almost the same features.

    I recently switched from Chevy to Ford and love the 2018 F-150 so far. I was looking at base model trucks because of price and the F-150 was definitely a better bang for your buck. For the base XL, you cannot beat the 2.7 twin-turbo, came with a backup cam and Bluetooth. Chevy had remote start but no backup cam, and was much more money than the Chevy. Very happy with the 2018 F-150, would recommend to anyone looking at getting a new truck

    This is a good video. IDK why it has so many dislikes. Rims make a truck and Ford doesn't offer anything bigger than 17" on loaded regular cabs. So I bought a GMC Sierra...with giant 20" factory rims. I LOVE IT :)

    Currently have a ram 1500. But if I bought a new truck today it'd be a Chevrolet 1500 18 or 19 I like both or a f250 if I was going bigger. Also my family has had 3 different generations of Ford's. 06, 12,13,15 yr models and they're pretty good but Im just going off appearance so it's person opinion

    I've always loved having Chevys because they are reliable, are really simple and straightforward, and last a really long time, even when pushing them hard. My first 2003 4x4 had 300,000 miles when I got rid of it with the original engine and transmission. It never let me down. All I did was keep up on normal maintenance and keep it clean. Only reason why I sold it is because it was only a single cab 8-foot bed, and I really needed a back seat. And I really used my truck as a truck (towing, getting dirty, off roading, etc).
    I bought a 2016 Silverado with the 'double cab' 4x4 LT and still use it as a truck. I've even towed a few cars with the truck. I drove it off the lot with 9 miles on it, and now have over 30,000 miles without an issue. I also perform all my own maintenance just like my 2003. So far, so good.
    Unfortunately with Ford, I always had nothing but issues with burning oil, transmissions, and exhaust system failures in the past. Not to mention, some newer Fords just seem ridiculous to work on, where as my Chevys have been pretty straightforward. Finally, I have a lot of friends that seem to get new Ford trucks often. I guess why they sell more than Chevy.

    • @sreilly
      @sreilly 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha! Well that you, sir! I mean everyone has their preference when it comes to what type of truck they prefer. And I'm sure there are Ford owners that have had nothing but good luck with their trucks. But as the saying goes, to each their own!

    • @prodigy9749
      @prodigy9749 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree that Chevys are easier to maintenance, but ford outperforms the Chevy, no hard feelings bro lol.

    • @sreilly
      @sreilly 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh none taken. I absolutely agree regarding performance. However, I think Ford focuses too much on their 0-60 times instead of towing and payload (which are also impressive). Towing and hauling is way more important than a 0-60 time in trucks. Also, I see Fords squat a lot more with a load or trailer than Chevys. I know my Chevy 1500 squats anywhere between 2 and 4 inches when I haul 2 tons of stone in a trailer. With an F-150, I've seen them squat more than 6 inches with the same amount. So in my case (since I tow and haul a lot), Chevy was the winner for me. They seem to last much longer than Ford as well, which answers the question why Ford is the best selling truck. BUT, I give old Ford trucks a lot of credit since they seem to last a hell of a lot longer than the newer Ford trucks.
      Of course, this is all just my honest opinion. As long as you buy a truck to use it as a truck (no matter who makes it), it's a win in my book. A truck is a tool, not a shiny object to run back and forth to the grocery store 🤣🤣

    Wow back with the great videos coming out again Chad. I used to like Chevrolet trucks over Ford, but now my opinion has sort have become more neutral. I definitely agree Ford gives you the most "bang for your buck" Chevys normally are more expensive I don't know why cause it's not necessarily a superior brand. What do you think of the new 2019 Silverado Chad? I'm still a fan of the big old America looking boxy large truck with the big grill up front. The new Silverado just looks too curvy for my taste. However the V8 in the Silverado suits my taste best. In the future I want to buy a used GMC Yukon Denali with the 6.2L and do a bit of modification to really get a beast! For my I'd probably hunt around for a good deal on the Chevy however it is a very tough choice

    Why would i wont LED bed light in truck? Brighter? Less consumption? Trend? I installed led interior light in 06 Ram into roof console in between original two lights to have that dim interior light for night driving, but led white color was making me sleepy, i actually had to give it yellow filter to have similar shine like regular bulb, which did help it

    My 2 cents, I had a F150 and drove it to 165k miles and seemed I just took it out the lot, verily reliable truck...now I have a GMC Sierra 20014 with 65 k miles and no problems whatsoever (knock on wood) also I have a Nissan Armada (same engine as the titan) and truck has 197k miles and I just drove it from El Paso to California rides perfectly, wife’s Dosge Challenger RT currently @ 47k miles...like new (5.7 l motor same as the ram)
    Would be a failure not to expect 300k at least for today’s motors...any brand, I like the ford but the Sierra Rides a Lot better suspension wise, the Armada has the get up and go motor, no need to add a note on the dodges 5.7l....I am on the market for a new to me truck, just tested a 2017 Toyota Platinum and to my taste, rides hard, bouncy, feels heavy, and is the ugliest of all.
    Take your pick according to your taste, there is no bad truck, take care of it and they will last, treat your truck like shit and you’ll get yours. Oh I decided for a newer Sierra. I am really liking it, will give it another shot

    • @CarolinaCarVideos
      @CarolinaCarVideos  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Victor, thanks for the input about trucks and vehicles you've driven and owned. I really enjoy getting comments like this from people that actually drive them. I do agree with you about the motors lasting up to 300K on modern vehicles today. Unfortunately the build motors a lot better now a days, but the actual exterior bodies and interiors will most likely start breaking down quicker due to them using cheaper parts etc. Now trucks seem to be built really well, but alot of the sedans seem to be cheaper built other than the higher end cars.

    A big reason for why someone picks one over the other has a lot to do with brand preference especially here in rural America. The whole I drive a Chevy because my dad and his dad before him did sort of thing. Often times it has come from a bad year or problems specific for one brand. Personally I enjoy working in Chevys because it’s what I know. I prefer the ride in a Chevy with a bench seat over other brands that have done away with them pretty arbitrary but that’s just my preference.

    That ford front end is killing it.. i like it, it looks like a truck.. I'm still on the fence for the current Chevy. I currently own a 2010 Silverado lt. I love it simple and clean. I still get compliments on how nice it looks.. based on what is coming out for Chevy next year not liking that front end again... why do they insist on making the truck look like a toy.. it's a truck!! Not a hot wheels toy..

    • @CarolinaCarVideos
      @CarolinaCarVideos  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah you have a good point man. The 2019 Chevy Silverado does kind of look like a Hot wheels toy lol. Well you know American's and there toys lol. I really think Chevy is trying to out do the Ford in looks. Also the new Dodge Ram is going to be a run for the money. So Chevy has to revamp everything.

    I bought an '18 F-150 and it's the first Ford I've ever owned. A former Dodge/Mopar guy but switched because I don't trust Fiat. I used to own nothing but GM but got tired of parts falling off, paint peeling, etc. and swore off GM. I like my F-150, super quiet and smooth, but the turbo and ten speed is taking some getting used to, but I'm not complaining with 24 MPG combined city/hwy with the 2.7 Ecoboost. You better get a bed liner in it because the bed floor metal is very thin, especially in the bed's raised wheel wells. It crackled when walking on the bed floor before I got a bed liner. Now it's fine. Don't laugh, GM fans. At least Ford doesn't have a plastic tailgate.

  • @brentvance3958

    I am a Ford guy and here is why. With the Chevy you can't get 1) push button start. 2) No air vents in the rear. 3) cooled seats. Ventilated seats are not the same. 4) you can't tow 13,200lbs. 5) rear seat room.

    • @coryr9938
      @coryr9938 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Ford literally just bumped up that tow rating this model year. With any similar powered truck you're going to be able to tow about the same, and you're not going to feel comfortable in a half ton with anything over 8,000 pounds anyway. Besides that, all those features are getting put in the new Chevy for 2019, a thing I hate about the Ford though is that all 2018 models have that stupid auto start/stop.

    I prefer gm, Ford and ram make nice trucks too, but in my experience gm is more reliable, and, when they do need something they are easier to work on. For example my truck has a 5.3, that engine is reliable and not hard to work on, plenty of room to do what you need to do under the hood, Ford is famous for making their vehicles impossible to work on yourself. It's pretty much just an opinion, gm, Ford, ram, Nissan, and toyota all make nice trucks, it's just which one you want buy.

    My family has owned both Ford and Chevrolet trucks. I decided to buy my own last year, and wanted the most dependable truck I could get. At the end of the day (and after about 6 months of research), I bought a Toyota Tundra. From my own personal research, the pecking order for reliability is Toyota, Chevrolet, Ford, then Ram. Another reason why I bought the Tundra, is that compared to the Ford and Chevrolet, It had the largest double cab. I have 2 passengers who ride in the back who are 6'3 and they were hunched over in the Chevrolet double cab, but had plenty of room in the Tundra. Worked out good because I can keep the full size bed, and still haul my passengers in comfort.

    Last year I was looking for a new truck, 2017 .. shopped Dodge, Toyota, GMC and Chevy and my summation is:- Ford salesman told me "I'm not discounting anything more than a couple grand on the 4 cylinder turbo-charged motor, because we sell so many we don't HAVE to discount anything ... " - Ford trucks were more expensive and much less on features, especially the comfort and interior/dashboard/touch screens, etc.. - Got 13K off sticker for a brand new 2017 All Star Edition Z71 package Silverado LT .. - Dodge trucks were .. um.. meh .. nothing to brag about .. and a used 2016 for 36k with 20k miles on It was the same as the brand new Silverado on sale .. - GMC was too expensive for sorta the same truck as the Chevy ... - Toyota was expensive, good motor, tough .. but no features to brag about at all.. especially interior .. ... so it was an easy decision for the Silverado .. and love it!!!

Well I'm glad to see some of you have traveled over from the Piggybackers channel to watch these videos. Please remember that I've been doing car videos like this since 2008. Piggybackers is something new to me and its taking time to find what works and does not work on that channel. I hate to hear about people unsubscribing from any of my channels, because I'm growing everyday and things get much better in time. I hope you can stop back by on CharlestonCarVideos and watch again. If you have not visited PB channel lately you might enjoy some of this weeks videos. I'm doing my best to move away from all the drama type videos, but some of my subs do enjoy a little of both. Got to find that happy medium. Have a good day, Chad

    I did test drive all trucks from Toyota , RAM 1500, Chevy Silverado, and Ford I find Ford was the best , drive smoother than any truck.

    Great unbiased review. I’ve had a ‘07 Tahoe & ‘08 Silverado, getting ready to get a 2018 Silverado within 2 weeks. Just don’t know which package to choose from. Some really great incentives from GM through 5/31 Had one Ford which I purchased brand new in 2001 and it had too many electrical issues

    Sorry but this guy has no idea wth he is talking about. If he sells Ford's, he needs to get some training asap. GM trucks that are 4 wheel drive do not have to be a z71. That is a trim/suspension system upgrade. Both trucks have pros and cons and are good choices in my opinion. GM needs to put rear hvac vents in and I know for 2019 that they have done this.

    There are lots of xlt options on Ford. You happened to choose a low end xlt package. Apples to apples the Ford would have as many options if not more than the chevy. Plus this Ford has the backup trailer assist you never even mentioned. You can also get an xlt with seat in the middle. Next time more apples to apples would be best for comparison. I like chevy also just mentioning some things you didn't point out.

    I’m an F150 owner, but I like both. I never got the whole thing of people acting like it’s their favorite football teams and trying to smear each other or thinking the other is complete trash.
    Three things won me over to ford.
    1) I owned a mustang and a Lincoln Mark 7 before, so when I popped the F150 hood I could understand more of what was going on.
    2) The interior design. I just liked the lighting and interface of the F150 more. Both my test drives rolled over into night time, and the blue and black look of the f150 just killed it off.
    3) Price. I bought a 17 when the 18s were a fear months away from rolling out. Ended up getting mine for $23,500 when the MSRP was $32,000. Yes I got a regular cab, but the same truck from GM and Chevy (and Nissan and Toyota) was going to cost me $28-30k at least. Only ones competing in price was dodge and that’s if I didn’t want power windows or automatic locks.

    Chevy for the win, really simple, 5.3 V-8 it's been out since late 90's keeps getting better and better. I don't want a V-6 in a full size truck, don't care if it has twin turbos.
    Did you know when you drive a new Ford Rapture, when you step on the accelerator the speakers produce a V-8 sound to imitate the rumble of a V-8. My 1965 Ford mustang with a 289 V-8 sounds better!!!!!
    Might as well turn in your man card if you buy a Ford truck with a v-6 and you need help backing up a trailer so you have technology do it for you??

    • @jaygarcia222

      Jaime V you do realize semis use turbos ? That is new technology for u I love my 17 f150

    • @SickTheory
      @SickTheory 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay Garcia dont care if it has 2 3 4 turbos, forced induced VS naturally aspirated V-8, which one do you think will last longer? If it ain't broke dont fix it, GM has been perfecting their 5.3 since the early 2000's.
      I'm glad you love your F-150, every brand has their own customers who stick and are loyal to them.
      Jay take care of that aluminum body because if you dent that truck, might as well consider it a salvage title since you cant work on aluminum like you can with steel.

    • @jaygarcia222
      @jaygarcia222 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jaime V so how do semis last so long ? I drive a Freightliner at work and it's strong has almost 300k no issues. Original engine turbo etc ...u can stick with the 5.3 it's weak compare to the 2.7 ecoboost. It can tow and haul wayy more. Kinda of sad s v6 overpowers a "big" v8.

I have the lowest package xlt 2016 chrome grill , bumpers though super cab 4 wheel xlt 2.7 Ecoboost the highest package has a lot of charging ports in the back. Especially the platinum package. It looks like these two truck are pitching to two different types. Chevy is going for the driving experience whereas Ford went with performance. I went with Chevy but also realize the F-150 is also a great truck. The small difference in performance didn't outweigh my preference to driving the Silverado, also MyLink is more streamlined than what Ford offers. No matter which you choose you will love it.
