    The Ram was actually redesigned in 2013 , the outside almost looks the same as the 09-12 but there are slight differences . And that 8 speed is awesome. As tested must have had a 3.21 because a 3.92 equipped Ram is rated to tow over 10k

  • @mxer652

    Loved the review, although you should state that all it costs is a mere $95 on the ram to get the 3.92 rear end and then it can tow over 10k. Seemed to me like that was really the only Con to the other parts of the review about the Ram.

  • @niksikk15

    • @crazyhass84
      @crazyhass84 6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    • @pranksterDoug
      @pranksterDoug 6 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      5.3 isn't a pos it's reliable asf, just not very powerful. Kinda like the 305 vs the 350, both great engines in reliability.

    • @niksikk15
      @niksikk15 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Andy Hass well the Ecoboost is definitely not the base engine and neither is the hemi all these trucks are different trim level so it's not even a good comparison to begin with and the 5.3 is not a POS it's a great motor just not as powerful as the 6.2 or other premium options.

    • @niksikk15
      @niksikk15 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Nova Man the 6.2 has 420 hp and 460 lb ft the most powerful engine you can buy in a half ton so they are not behind especially seems both of those engine are a few years old now and are being charged for 2019 that will put them further ahead of what RAM and Ford as premium engines choices

    • @niksikk15
      @niksikk15 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nova Man yeah they only offer max 3.42 gears in 6.2 so it's more fuel efficient and not going to be as quick and will still pull more than a hemi and the engine is still more powerful

    Good review on the air ride. Another advantage off road is when the trucks are loaded down to max payload with gear and people the other two trucks will suffer from suspension sag and lose on all the approach, breakover, body and departure angles. The Ram with air ride will level out and lose nothing, making it a far better off road truck than the other two.

    Unfortunately the IRS considers these to be family vehicles instead of work trucks because of the reduced bed length and increased passenger space, so you can’t take a full deduction for business use. I can’t believe the manufacturers could have known this because they are building very few with extended vs crew cabs. I’ve been to 6 dealers and all they have are crew cabs.

    10 speed was co-engineered by gm and ford(just so you know), but nevertheless the Ford was not an FX4, all the trailers weighed different amounts, top engines in ram and ford used but not chevy, off road suspension is supposed to be a lot stiffer so you don't bottom out(z71).
