When I got the Western Star, I tried to pull it up the first road, couldnt do it, tried the next one on the northern end of the lake and couldn't do it, so then turned around and headed due south over that ridge and to the far end of the map, then swung north along the eastern border. Took me forever, using the Paystar with no upgrades to speak of. It was a nightmare but I finally got back to the garage. I also repaired and refueled it before moving.
Damn dude yeah you went all out lol! I bet that took forever but thankfully you fixed it at least so it kind of follows along! But still lol! I’ve heard the paystar is good but it seems with stock wheels etc it’s not a beast! A few have said similar early game paystar results!
Yeah this mission took me bloody ages too lol! It’s a tough one, but if you fix it up or at least the engine and gearbox it will help tow it! Tyres too if you don’t care or need that broken horse trophy!
Josh Haney ahhh don’t worry dude there’s a few other vehicles you can complete it with, have you rescued the transtar from the smithville map? Or the kodiak from black river? Worst case you’ll have to do what I did and just tow a ck 1500 sideways around the quarry with a Tatarin for a bit until it’s got no tyres left lol!
When I came across this truck I was driving and used the K1500 (C/K). It took me 3.5 hours and two tanks of fuel. Luckily I brought a fuel caddy a long with me. (The little bit at the end 😂😂 try to catch me riding dirty). By the way. The reason why I said K instead of C/K is because C= 2wheel Drive, K= 4wheel drive. There is no such thing as a C/K 1500. It's either C or K. Back the day magazines would say "the C/K 1500 pickups are best in class" or whatever. 2WD C 1500 - 1/2 TON C2500 - 3/4 TON C3500 - 1 TON 4WD K1500 - 1/2 TON K2500 - 3/4 TON K3500 - 1 TON

I did the broken horse trophy with the highway truck in Smithwill dam swamp area. Driving that beast out from it with broken tyres was a hoot. But that truck also has all tires broken. Great info about good hauler

I did this task today. Pull the truck from the back. I promise you it will be easier. Though when u get to the hill and rock it will test how good u are with wench . Good luck! And I used the gmc from the beginning
Yeah I theoretically agree with that you’re saying dude, but from having burst tyres on various trucks, they seem to roll just fine, but it does get stuck more (due to lower chassis now too as well as the flat tyres) but they don’t seem to have any problem driving, the ck 1500 I used with all flats and when I drove this with all flats it drove fine really! And when it’s being winched and you’re pulling dead weight then I honestly don’t think it makes a noticeable difference! However if/when I can pop all tyres on a truck (not as easy as it sounds doing all of them) then I may test it 👍🏻! But for the purposes of this mission and truck, you could fix the engine and everything and even leave the tyres flat for the trophy afterwards, and I guarantee it would be easier to tow when it’s driving behind you with flat tyres, over having inflated tyres but being a dead weight with no engine, so it can be done at least as easily as it was for me in this video with each truck, just takes a little prep work before hand bringing a trailer!
@@itsmrlonewolf i took the time to fix up the white western on the dam map. Got it up that hill first attempt with my paystar. It would have taken twice as long and involved more than 1 truck if i had not fixed it. But i do see the video and vehicles do roll and drive. I appreciate your reply to my comment.

Yeah to be honest mate I fully agree with you, I guess what I’m saying though is they’ve gone pretty easy on us in this game and all popped tyres doesn’t seem to punish you as much as you’d expect in real life! They could turn up the difference if that makes sense! The engine fix probably helps make it like 90% easier whereas fixed tyres it feels makes more like 5% difference if that, for towing anyway! Driving a vehicle off-road with all burst tyres and I think it is more noticeable than that! No worries man I always try to reply if I can 👍🏻 I appreciate the views lol!
Maaan, I did this with my Paystar fairly early on in my game so I didn't have the off-road gearbox or any tires better than the first AT set you get for the thing...boy was that a pain in my ass x_x Took me at least a good ten minutes of wrestling the hell out of it just to get up the hill and past the rocks and managed to make it to the garage with less than 20 liters of fuel left but I was so done with it at that point I just recovered the western star immediately not even thinking about the achievement
To add onto this, I did nothing to repair the western star either. Really set myself up for greatness there lmao. But, my perseverance paid off in the end

Yeah as I said I did it fully broken too just for that trophy and then cocked that up anyway so I could have just repaired the bloody thing and walked it! Ahh well! By the way the only way I figured out to get that trophy after was beat the crap out of my CK for hours! It was fun but it was literally 1-2 hours of smashing it into everything while towing it with the Tatarin!
I did this with the Fleetstar... BUT, I also didn't use that little mud road. There is a small clearing just to left (looking uphill) from the trail, and the trees are spaced plenty far apart to get both trucks through. Remember, roads in SnowRunner are merely a suggestion!

Yeah that’s what I like about this game, it’s not clear cut and black and white, there’s just A to B and between all the trucks and routes etc you could do the same mission 100 times and never do the same thing twice!

I tried it in the royal without upgrades but couldn't get past those rocks. Horrible horrible mission, constantly winching the truck then tree, truck then tree and that feeling when you winch to a tree only to see the broken truck roll back down .... I was stubborn and wouldn't give up so tried for sooooo long but eventually had to. I tried so long the truck being towed ran out of fuel! Got the fleetstar down instead and did it. Still wasn't easy though. Maybe I'm just a noob, I certainly don't have Lone Wolf's skills. Real emotional low point for me this mission. Royal has been in storage ever since. I hold grudges.
Atmhos In Orb Probably because you didn’t repair it first, if you go to recover it with a stock Royal with a maintenance body add on fitted it’s a piece of cake as the Western will almost follow you everywhere after you repair it and lend it some fuel from your Royal 😊
Atmhos In Orb honestly dude don’t let that be a down moment for you, you stuck with it and beat it! Bringing the fleetstar isn’t giving up, it’s using the tools you’ve got to make things easier! I basically had the same experience as you, struggling like mad for about 2 hours and in the end I brought the CAT and could reach it through the rocks so I towed it up the hill! But thats your win dude, you beat the game at this challenge and honestly this mission was no joke! You ain’t a noob, this mission kicked my ass for ages too! In fact I tried with the fleetstar and gave up and got the CAT so you beat it with the truck I couldn’t lol 👍🏻! The Royal is pretty decent you should give it a try especially if you’ve got the upgrades for it now! Fully upgraded it’s a very fast truck, not the best but really not bad, however due to its speed it’s prone to roll if you go flying at top speed which I of course do everywhere!
Sebastian Bratoiu yeah I did the same and dragged it the hard way! I got this so early game I didn’t really know too well about fixing etc! (Plus I wanted to keep it broken for the broken horse trophy and then after getting it back the hard way, accidentally fixed it making the whole exercise pointless lol)
That's all good when your already lvl 30, try it again with stock trucks that only lvl 10's and under could own (no muds/chains on wheels) think your find a bit of a difference then using fully stocked maxed trucks. Other then that love all you do for the game, great work, keep it up (that's what she said lol) but could you pls try remember us lower level humans. Peace out 😉
I got the truck in half an hour all you need is a decent truck with the heavy crane and you can move it through the rocks easily if you put the front of your truck hitting a tree and pull it up with the crane
On a note i want to tell everyone i found the white star from this video and my also found Tyga pulled it out with barely any issues , i did have to hook/unhook thr winch some but the Tyga i cant say enough great about its so balanced and strong and I dont havr any amazing upgrades on it yet cept the average all terrain tires it allows you.
What is the white truck at 12.00 that you recommend? Thanks! Also have you tried with international paystar 5070? I tried this and didn't seem to have the power :(

How to get the western star. * Goto the Drown Lands garage with the Fleetstar * Turn left and go repair/refuel the Tayga. * Use the Tayga and forget the Westernstar even exists
If you have the Tayga, you may as well forget the Westernstar even exists. The Westernstar fully upgraded still isn't as powerful as the stock Tayga you can get in the Drownlands, like 20 minutes after finishing the tutorial.
I used it and as you should know 💪 it did amazing vry few issues this truck is a end game truck upgrade it a few areas and it will be the Boss among a few others you'll find out there.
I recovered this with my fleetstar. I towed the tarta 805 (fuel carrier attachment) down with me as well. I left the 805 for future use in the area (royal was in the area recovering lost oil barrels) and towed the Western back. Does anyone play on switch? I’d really like to have fun on coop

One of the few trucks I used the recovery feature for considering I was only going to sell it. Highway trucks serve little to no purpose 🤦🏼♀️

On the way back, right before hill on beach, go right. Pretty nice level hill to drive up. My hx540 had no issue.

I recovered this with my Loadstar. I tried first with the P16 but it run out of steam up the steep hill.

10-15 minutes tops with a better route.
