Funny to think that, except for some scout-specific missions, one could just use these four trucks to do everything in SnowRunner. On an unrelated note: while waiting for Season 10 to officially drop, I've been taking advantage of the Steam Summer Sale and got MudRunner at a very low price, and started playing it just to see how it looks and feels compared to its successor. And I must say that, while in many aspects SnowRunner is definitely a better overall package, there are still things where MudRunner feels superior. Two that stood out for me: 1) The weight of the trucks feels more realistic when driving. There is a perceived difference when handling a scout or small truck compared with beefier trucks. 2) In MudRunner, when you damage your vehicle, and then you repair it on the road, you can actually see the damage go away and the truck looks like new again, while in SnowRunner trucks keep looking damaged even after repairing. It's a small detail, cosmetic if you will, but it drives me nuts, and I don't understand why SnowRunner doesn't behave like MudRunner here. Apologies, I'm getting verbose as usual… It's that I don't have many people to talk with about this topic, haha! Cheers! //Rick
When you fix your car "on the road" and visible damage stays on, it makes sense for me. If you damage your car in real life in difficult terrain, You will fix only the most important parts, so You will be able to get to the workshop. You don't take new fenders, bumpers and compressor and doesn't paint it in the wildnes :D
@@SttiggPL You are absolutely right. For realism's sake, it makes sense that a vehicle would remain visibly damaged after an on-the-road fix. From a gameplay standpoint (and just personal preference of course), I'd prefer to have an obvious visual clue that the vehicle is repaired. Again, it's just a minor personal peeve. Thanks for your comment and for chiming in!

I think the tayga 6436 could've been a great contender due to the fact that it can be found for free, has tons of add-ons, is extremely capable offroad and has a fairly large fuel tank. The 73210 is amazing, the only things I do not like about it is the front overhang and the fact that you can't use a high range gearbox with it

The winner is the Fleetstar obviously, its the cheapest, easiest to get and with highrange surfing trough mud like nothing else. Also it can be used as a boat when you dump it in a lake it magically keeps floating especially with a trailer attached.

I personally would like to see a logging truck battle as apart from the massive trailers, it seems to be the most arduous of tasks. I always reach for my Pacific P16, but I'm curious if there's a better alternative, especially for large logs
As always meowsome video. For me is the 605 the winner, its hard to beat. The feeling and mystery, to get it. The goose bumps, when drive it in Amur, after crying, screaming, curesing. Amur, went frome nightmare to enjoyable... Or almost 😬 The story about the truck its important, that's why 612 become an anticlimax.
Oh yes, the origin story of the 605R is epic. A truly memorable rescue mission that actually gives you a reward worthy of the challenge. I actually did it again recently on another save, was a fun few hours.
For me mastodon takes the crown i literally pulled 4 loaded trucks with trailers also loaded too in swamp without problem it has too much power sometimes i use it for scout purposes
A good best challenge, best unique supply vehicle. Supply meaning a lot of fuel and repair without using a trailer nor the generic maintainer addon. While the maintainer addon is extremely practical with a healthy supply of fuel and parts, there are a number of vehicles with unique add-ons and racks for both repair and fuel. Especially early game, being able to supply a lot of fuel and repair at once without needing to drag a trailer around is great since most early vehicles have small fuel capacity and often need a refuel after delivery to return a trailer if used. I find the F-750 is excellent for this with a massive supply for both, followed by the Apache.
Little tip while climbing with this 8x8 trucks just leave it on auto gear it moves up much faster than low gear and has more than enough engine power to make the climb
Wow, apparently nobody likes the Tatra FORCE as much as a I do 🤔🙃. This is the best truck in the game for me. - The special crane makes it ridiculously easy to overload (up to 6-8 slots, even oversized containers fit easily in the back of the 2 slot cargo bed) - it has fantastic fuel economy, it goes absolutely on forever - it is very stable. Even when you tip it, it’s often possible to restart it and get it upright using it’s own crane (by pointing into the ground) - with the multipurpose gearbox it’s actually quite fast - it only gets stuck in the thickest of mud/snow. - even in ice you can sometimes save the truck with (again) the fantastic CRANE (did i mention it was great?) - the crane also makes it easy to load a scout on the cargo bed. So you can do a trick in new maps: scout in the back and prototype radar trailer hinged behind. Every time you want a scan: unload scout, attack radar to it, scan 💥, then tow scout back onto the tatra, etc. This combo is faster and has more fuel than just scout +radar. (may the Tatra be with you ✌🏻)
The azov 73210 is very powerful and has high utility, but for me this truck does not work out. I cannot get anywhere, sometimes in moderately easy terrain because the nose gets stuck everywhere. The 612h has a smaller and higher nose, so thats okay. For bumpy wooden river crossings, the 605r is best
Honestly, use the favourite. But if you really need off-roading, the 605R is king. For getting the job done no matter what and value, the 73210. That is basically the TLDW.
I just started snowrunner recently. bought the mastodon but I generally only use it as a means to rescue heavy trucks that fall over. That fuel consumption on the stock engine is horrible tho.
Nice, welcome to the club! Mastodon is still pretty decent, I was just curious how it stacks up. And apparently it will be getting a buff soon so will likely be even better.
I've found the 612 to be lacking. I don't know if it got nurfed recently. The 605 out performs it everywhere. The 73210 is really flexible, but even with the raised suspension, that nose is an issue in the harder maps.
It's odd, it did seem to get a bit of a boost then perhaps a slight nerf. Hard to tell exactly what happened or maybe it's a placebo haha. I usually always recommend the 73210, even with the nose it's epic. Mainly for the sake of variety!
The 612H's transmissions are broken currently, and im sure youre all aware of the "upgrades" on PTS. Right now only the Fine-Tune transmission allows the engine to make its peak power (and it makes its peak power in every gear) hence frequent wheel stalls without and disproportionately better performance with... Tire selection is also a huge factor here, and its not *always* best to take mud tires, but its a good rule of thumb... Im trying to maybe put together a video on this and many other things but just not sure where to start to be honest.
Crane, bed, trailer, all 3 log sizes, low and high saddles. Ya the 612 is easily the best vehicle in the game now. Definitely worth the couple dollars.
For my driving style I bounced between the Derry and the 612. The 605 I like to use as a "trouble shooter" if there is a task or recovery that is more than what I can handle with a F750 or with one of the other trucks I will outfit it as needed and often times use its shorter length to get in past a disabled truck or down a different route to reach the problem spot and help. Never thought much of the Azov as that front end seems to get hung up all the time and by the time I get from the garage to where I need to pick up a load I need to send out a repair truck to get it ready for the next leg.
Dident they fix that issue a while back with the front overhang now instead clipping through the top layer of the ground instead of causing it to slam into it.
@@imrekalman9044 Yeah thats for sure and its sadly a theme for almost any upgrade released with a DLC. They for some stupid reson placed the AWD for the GMC the first truck u get in the game deep within Russia. Just why.
One thing to not about the Derry is it's a lot more top heavy than the other trucks and prone to tipping even before you raise its active suspension. Also it's main party trick of the big water tank got stolen by the 612. While the Mastodon is supposed to be a sidegrade to the 605 the amount of extra utility you get compared to how little you actually sacrifice just makes it a no brainer for most jobs. With the four slot bed and some double stacking of unpacked cargo it's easy to carry 8 slots worth on a very capable and stable truck. Sometimes much more. It's ice tires absolutely suck and it feels weak and underpowered with them on but that's the only drawback. Oh and it likes to eat dirt thanks to it's big chin just like the Azov. Unlike the Azov it can usually bully itself back out.
Before. The Zikz 612h has more addons, +0,35 better mudtires (3.35), got buffed so it's pretty much the same power. There is no need to use the 605r if you have the 612h. Only minor downside is the ground clearance, 605r can drive better over some stones, in same rare occasions BUT his saddle is higher so you don't get your trailer stuck as many times as the 605r does. Also if you need raw power use the FEMM 37-AT, nothing can stop this thing, not even ice water, he just drives out of it, if it doesn't tip over. But for me the 612h is the King, made for everything and can do everything.
for the ice test put chains on the wheels where possible, the derry tho slow can very much get through ice if it has some amount if traction with chains
I still will say the ZikZ 605R is the best, sexiest and goes through everything I put it through. lol! Not to mention I fought the hardest to acquire the 605R. lol!
My favourite is the 612h mainly because it was the first dlc truck I ever played with and was so op at the time also has interesting/useful addons. It also has the rare log crane log and log carrier front combo making it my go to for logs. But if I was stuck with one truck for the entire game it’s smaller brother the 605r would be my choice from this lineup. Any truck would probably be kenworth 963
Im only like 50 hrs in and Russia has been quite difficult just because of the Mud. I have the Azov with the best Mud tires and i still cant even make it up the trail in some places. It gets frustrating when i get stuck by the gas station and my winch immediately snaps off most small sapplings
Places are trying to take the crown from the 605 and give it to the 612, but I can't get on board with that. I guess in the PTS that the 612 has a better turning radius but it's still too long for many situations and without the rear wheel steering like the 73210, it will get jammed up, along with that nose that likes to 'dig for truffles', it can - and will - turn into a bit of a fight. 612 is a capable truck, absolutely, but in terms of handling terrain the 605 is still the king for me. 73210 is the king for versatility purely because of its maneuverability. It's got roughly the same issues as the 612 but that steering radius is just too good to ignore.
Agreed, although I may have to roll out another test just to see how much better the 612H is. But it will never match the 73210's rear steering as you said.
Nice video mate. Where would you reckon the kolob 74760 ranks in ure offroad ability? IRL its an mzkt and the mzkt 7429 in mudrunner was one of the best at sheer offroading.
I may have to dig out some other beastly trucks and compare, including the 74760. It would rank pretty highly but maybe not as high as its looks suggest.
Tayga 6436 overall wins hands down IMHO. BUT…. when it got really tough from about Amur on the 605R is unbeatable. 612 is just too big and clumsy and I just found the Derry average and the 73210 gets stuck too much with the small wheels. So from me the 605 wins it without a doubt.
@@ATribeCalledCars its just a odd interaction with base truck on add ons just a sadle with best engine it has a S power rating but if you put anything on like the roof rack it drops the power rating down to A+ and A if the spare tire. Also the derry special has a similar interaction best engine it has a S or A+ but if you equip the one of the front bush guards it drops to A and if you use the bush guard and savior cage it drops to B+. But i do believe its a interaction of weight saving for 605r and the derry special it says the bumper covers up a engine intake so i guess that is why it reduces power but it doesn't make sense cause the derry's snorkels are on top of the cab so it shouldn't reduce the power for the sake of realism
out of curiosity did you use advanced special on the 612 if so i suggest trying fine tune on this truck the advanced special is bugged fine tune is miles ahead of it
@@ATribeCalledCars ah yeah i know it's annoying and well fine tune is useless to me just it makes the truck driveable and well it is Russian so at least it starts with OP fuel
Been playing off an on for a while and recently got to the point where I could get the best trucks and right now the 605R is begrudgingly the top of the 3 I do have currently. Don't have the 612H. I say begrudgingly because it feels like its almost too good. To the point where in the 6 hours I used it after unlocking it I don't think I used the winch once or really had any trouble because it cut through all terrain no problem and honestly made the game a little less fun for me so I haven't used it as much since. I did not like the Azov 73210. That long front was a constant nuisance and kept getting caught on everything. The Derry I really like but it has some weird issues. The main one being it feels unreasonably top heavy like if the center of gravity was way higher than it should be. You can sometimes see this when it tips and it often looks like it wants to roll all the way over onto the roof and a couple times I've actually had it do that.
I did not test sheer cargo limits as I try to keep within the normal confines of the game. However, the Derry Special can be a beast for general loading. The new Kenworth 963 will get a look soon, but early testing suggests it is pretty powerful!
Did the Tayga “King” get nerfed? I tried it out and I feel like it doesn’t even compare to the ZikZ or even the Azov. I sold the Tayga almost immediately after testing it out and doing a contract with it. I honestly thought it was kind of garbage
I think it was weakened somewhat over the years, but still has good pace, agility and power if fully upgraded. I still wheel it out every now and then.
Let me guess.... the winner is Tayga "King" LOL. Edit: Yup. How the Tayga "King" outperforms some of the behemoth trucks in the game has basically become a running joke.
Well I've yet to unlock them all and in trying my best not to just whip out the wallet and say I wanna cheese the game by getting the best and never using anything else. To me every truck has a purpose and I (offscreen I'll admit) reconfigured them to match that. Hopefully my choices are good, only time will tell
@ATribeCalledCars thye have such a bad habit of making trucks with potential useless like that western star that can't have diff locks but has more wheels than a stack of shopping trolleys
Changing the Tires of the Zikz 612h (from ZHM to whatever this shit is) while hill climbing was a crime against humanity. ^^ For the newer people that watch this now, 612h got buffed. This is an old test. It is pretty much the same as the Zikz 605r now, but with a lot more addons and even better mudtires (3.35 | +0.35 better as 605r). If it's an extrem test and not mud the 605r could sightly exceed the 612h but through normal gameplay that never happens. And if I need a Truck for extrem, I take the FEMM 37-AT which is insane in pulling anything through anything. I loved the 605r but for me the 612h was a Kingslayer, thanks to the buffs, his #3 best mudtires (or rather #2 mudties because TUZ 420 with his 8 mudtires isn't normal so 3.5 is #1, 3.35 #2), higher saddle and all those addons which 605r hasn't, there is no point of using the 605r anymore if you have the 612h. Overall it is the best Truck for now.

- The special crane makes it ridiculously easy to overload (up to 6-8 slots, even oversized containers fit easily in the back of the 2 slot cargo bed)
- it has fantastic fuel economy, it goes absolutely on forever
- it is very stable. Even when you tip it, it’s often possible to restart it and get it upright using it’s own crane (by pointing into the ground)
- with the multipurpose gearbox it’s actually quite fast
- it only gets stuck in the thickest of mud/snow.
- even in ice you can sometimes save the truck with (again) the fantastic CRANE (did i mention it was great?)
- the crane also makes it easy to load a scout on the cargo bed. So you can do a trick in new maps: scout in the back and prototype radar trailer hinged behind. Every time you want a scan: unload scout, attack radar to it, scan 💥, then tow scout back onto the tatra, etc. This combo is faster and has more fuel than just scout +radar.
(may the Tatra be with you ✌🏻)
Wow .. Two Ronies and their Four Candles / Fork Handles made it to your video .. I'm seriously surprised!
I like to chuck stuff in every now and then that I loved when growing up!
@@ATribeCalledCarsYup, dry humor and Tatra trucks, that's it.
Yes Ben I did end up buying the Zikz 612H.
Have you found the active suspension in Amur for the Azov 7?
You should've used the OHS II tyres on the 73210 and the DS 15c, they're the best tyres for those trucks
1) mastodon
2) tayga
3) kenworth / 605r
4) tatra
for scout : Tatarin, Yar
Road to 60 K is coming quick! Good for you!
Wohoo, next stop 100,000k. If I get there before I die lol.
@@ATribeCalledCars You will do it before that.
@@Blue967 Thank you for the support.
Great video and great trucks, the best ones of your competition, for me, are the 605R and the 73210.
Hard to beat them! Thank you for watching, always appreciated.
No matter what the mastodon is always the king to me, partly because im biased since i loved it in mudrunner
It has heritage, I get it. And is still very capable!
The first climb is doable on all 4 if you use off road or all terrain tires, mud tires are absolutely terrible on rocky surfaces.
lol! Well, that was neat. Personally, I think the two Zikzs are better in most ways, but the Derry and Azov shouldn't be over looked.
loved the two ronnies
Me too, was a great time for comedy. A different time.
I came here for an answer... Now i go even more confused 😅
Zikz 605R Goliath - 714WM - Dramis D150T -KrazChaborz
Lol gosh I love your videos and your sarcastic comments 😂
As long as 73210 has the active suspension, then yes, it is very good. Without it, it's very tough to go over anything really.
I did an little giggle with your wieght measure "kilowatt pounds something" 🤭
A nationally recognised form of measurement!
Crane, bed, trailer, all 3 log sizes, low and high saddles. Ya the 612 is easily the best vehicle in the game now. Definitely worth the couple dollars.
Nice that it is generally good enough to compete!
@@Shiftry87 Apparently yes, and with the active suspension raised it rarely happens anymore. Takes forever to reach the upgrade, though.
@@imrekalman9044 Yeah thats for sure and its sadly a theme for almost any upgrade released with a DLC. They for some stupid reson placed the AWD for the GMC the first truck u get in the game deep within Russia. Just why.
You should have waited for the kenworth, I have a good feeling about it.
That Azov can also wear scout fuel trailers as a literal hat for +900 liters of fuel. Or an entire Lo4F...
Is it tested before or after Zikz 612H buffs? After buffs it is almost as good as Zikz 605R and more versitile.
Lol I love how you used add-ons on two and two without obvious with will do better
The modded f150's gettin me through a lot of grafting.
for the ice test put chains on the wheels where possible, the derry tho slow can very much get through ice if it has some amount if traction with chains
That is true although you lose traction in snow with some trucks. Pros and cons!
I still will say the ZikZ 605R is the best, sexiest and goes through everything I put it through. lol! Not to mention I fought the hardest to acquire the 605R. lol!
The Mastodon gets 2 Frame addons in the next season
I saw Esorokin mention at least one, hopefully that is the case. It would make it better value!
When did it get nerfed?
Best or not, I’m still using the nugget squad more than I should
Im only like 50 hrs in and Russia has been quite difficult just because of the Mud. I have the Azov with the best Mud tires and i still cant even make it up the trail in some places. It gets frustrating when i get stuck by the gas station and my winch immediately snaps off most small sapplings
My favorite off-road truck that looks like it works at an airport.
It really does. As well as the DAN 96320.
Nice video👍😎
Me personaly, i think the best is the Tatra Force, might not be the fastest but power feels even over zikz
Of the base game trucks I use the DAN not the Azov. The Azov gets stuck on everything especially tree roots
I thought that the Zikz 612H had more roof top fuel and parts (450 spares and 190 fuel)?
Yoj could say the first test was a Hill climb race
can say with confidence its Kenworth and theres not much of a comparison
hello there
General kenobi
Hi
Hello there
Behave
Hello there.
I love the Azov 73210 and "Kilmore " mod version. Great all round trunk
All I use is a lifted 73210 with the biggest tires. I’m not trying to pay attention to what I’m doing at 2am.
Why did you choose the MSH tires for the 612H in the cargo test? The ZMH tires should do the trick
Not much of a difference in terms of raw performance and I always seem to do better with the MSH though part of that could be the placebo effect!
Hi! i have been enjoying ur vids ever since, but could you maybe by any chance make a video on The Crew: Motorfest? I really wanna see you opinion :D
I want to play it, just need a code basically.
Nice video mate. Where would you reckon the kolob 74760 ranks in ure offroad ability? IRL its an mzkt and the mzkt 7429 in mudrunner was one of the best at sheer offroading.
I may have to dig out some other beastly trucks and compare, including the 74760. It would rank pretty highly but maybe not as high as its looks suggest.
interesting tire choices
Tayga 6436 overall wins hands down IMHO. BUT…. when it got really tough from about Amur on the 605R is unbeatable. 612 is just too big and clumsy and I just found the Derry average and the 73210 gets stuck too much with the small wheels. So from me the 605 wins it without a doubt.
i personally prefer 612h but i wish its diff lock was changed
I love this game.
Derry special looks the coolest so its the best
The zirk 605r has a S power rating if you take the spare tire and repair kit off
Interesting, I wonder if it actually affects performance or is just based in reduced weight to power.
Kw--in-lbs. Fantastic.
If this is on PTS it’s a shame the Mastodon still isn’t powerful enough to keep the wheels spinning
Training ground on the normal game. I've heard it is getting fixed or was supposed to be!
out of curiosity did you use advanced special on the 612 if so i suggest trying fine tune on this truck the advanced special is bugged fine tune is miles ahead of it
I tried both, indeed. Known issue. Though fine tune has a fuel consumption penalty.
@@ATribeCalledCars ah yeah i know it's annoying and well fine tune is useless to me just it makes the truck driveable and well it is Russian so at least it starts with OP fuel
Nice 👌🏾 job ben
Cheers, Mr Bryan!
@ATribeCalledCars your welcome buddy 😊
You mean handles for forks?
Do which is the best Voron
What about the maximum amount of cargo that can be loaded? Azone is unbeatable. So is fuel consumption. And what about the new KENWORTH 963?
I think you put the tayga in high and the derry special in low + 😶
Let me guess.... the winner is Tayga "King" LOL. Edit: Yup. How the Tayga "King" outperforms some of the behemoth trucks in the game has basically become a running joke.
Just got this game on PlayStation been playing it non stop. Anyone down to hop on this weekend?
I have both the 605R and the 612H the 612H gets stuck in deep mud so imo 605R wins
That's the ultimate test, to be honest.
for the Azov 73210 what is the best setup in terms of engine, tyres (including new dlc) etc?
Well I've yet to unlock them all and in trying my best not to just whip out the wallet and say I wanna cheese the game by getting the best and never using anything else.
To me every truck has a purpose and I (offscreen I'll admit) reconfigured them to match that. Hopefully my choices are good, only time will tell
vielen dank
I just subscribed 🌸
That's great, really appreciate it.
The "Flying Twinsteer" they are not.......
Nothing beats that!
Its a shame that pne azov is just useless with a 200L tank but cant have triple beds or a roofrack
Yes, it gets stranded so easily in solo play unless you lug a trailer or play co-op. And even then...
For the newer people that watch this now, 612h got buffed.
Are the stock wheels the best for the Mastodon? I just put wider wheels on it
Did you learn it ?
