    Hey bud, let me start by saying you did a great job with your video. Your vocals were coming in clear, and you did a good job overall. I need to make a correction to your video though. The point of people putting r6 throttle tubes on their bike is not about throttle cable free play like what you are describing here. All motorcycles have a way to adjust the throttle free play, and it is exactly as you describe here. The purpose of the r6 throttle tube mod is to shorten the overall length of pull on the throttle; not the point where the throttle bodies start to open and the rpms start to rise. Think of it this way with your throttle closed, put your first piece of tape, just like in your video, next spin the throttle as far as you can, and place your second piece of tape... that is your overall throttle pull. The r6 throttle tube, simply lessens that amount of rotation in the grip. just like you described the r6 tube has a larger diameter pulley so you don't have to twist the throttle as far to have the throttle wide open. Most motorcycles, your r3 included, have a 90 degree throttle, the r6 tube has a 60 degree spin, I could be off on my numbers here, but you get the idea. I hope this makes sense.

      A & E Mobile Detailing you have a good way of describing things and it makes sense =) the point of my video was to give people an alternative to adjusting the throttle in a more simpler easier way Incase they didn’t feel comfortable installing the R6 throttle tube to get the same results. But i appreciate the feedback thumbs up.

      Exactly the OEM throttle tube is smaller and "camed" they call it progressive throttle response. The R6 (part # 2C0-26240-00-00) is larger and requires less wrist per RPM, but the reason for using the R6 throttle tube is a more linear throttle response and less twist I just did it on my 2015 R3 and had to remove fairing and engine mounting bracket. AC has a good video for free play adjustment and I have to admit taking off the engine mount bracket were friggen tight had to use a breaker bar to get the 3 bolts out. Then the cable stay bolts on the throttle body. So more to it than just taking off the old tube and put on new.

      X2. Makes for less wrist angle while cruising and maintain speed. On.my FZ8, helped out a ton on wrist comfort during long rides

    With less freeplay on the throttle, it’s much easier to rev match

    Thanks! I knew something was wrong with my bike that I just bought. I felt like it had too much slack.

    I prefer don't touch the the run screw but it's possible to have a problem with TPS position and setting of power unit

      I just show it as an addition option and setting but as long as you dont over turn it you should be fine.

    Nice video. At least you can see what you're doing. At most r6 mod videos you can't see the changing of the slack, or they don't change it at all.

    good video, I'm still getting the R6 throttle tube. But now I feel more confident installing / adjusting on my own.

      AC Productions how is the bigger tire upgrade doing now that its been a while do you think its better to get a size bigger?

    • @ACProductions77
      @ACProductions77  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      after getting use to the rolling weight of the tire I would say Yes because I feel more planted when riding and dont feel that I get tossed around in the wind, like i did with the stock tire size. the stock tire size makes the bike feel very lite therefore the feeling of being too lite when riding.

    Ok I know this video is three years old but I actually need little bit more throttle free play on my R6 because of my front brake lever is further out and tend to give throttle input when reaching but so my question is, would I be able to do this by turning throttle thumb opposite direction?

    • @ACProductions77
      @ACProductions77  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you turn it the other way then you will be giving it more slack, my suggestion would be maybe try getting a shorter length cable.

      Your answer should be adjusting your brake lever to fit your hand(adjustable brake lever). You shouldn't have to adjust your throttle to accommodate a brake lever issue.

    Recently got an used yamaha r125 and there is so much freeplay. Not so easy to rev match and my question is if i do this mod and adjust the freeplay will my bike ride smoother because when im letting go of the gas and getting it back on it jumps my bike in a weird way.

    • @davidmikic3011
      @davidmikic3011 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To explain it easier will adjusting the freeplay make my bike ride smoother in terms of letting the gas go and going on the gas again?

    • @ACProductions77
      @ACProductions77  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidmikic3011 it just will give you quicker acceleration as you wont need to twist the throttle grip so much just to move

    • @ACProductions77
      @ACProductions77  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      the bike will not be any smoother it will be the same, you will just have quicker throttle responce

    What happens if it’s adjusted too far? I bought mine used.

    • @ACProductions77
      @ACProductions77  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you adjust it to far the cable will come off its threaded area, you can only go so far with it

    Hi there, i'm getting the knowledge from watching your video how to adjust the throtle free play. Just there a few things i found while i'm following all of the step on my yamaha r25 v2, i found that while the handle bar is straight, adjusting the throttle is good, just 1@2mm free play, but when i turn then handle bar to the left, the throttle cable is feeling to tight. Now i back to use the factory setting. Btw, it is a good video.

    • @ACProductions77
      @ACProductions77  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Baba Babam what do you mean the cable feels to tight?

    • @batepu4498
      @batepu4498 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ACProductions77 while the handle bar is straight, the throttle free play is nice, 1@3mm clearance like that. But when i turn the handle to the left & i rev the throttle it's not smooth as the straight handle bar.
      Thanks for your feedback sir & always be safe while the viruses spreading.

      @@batepu4498 could be some resistance on the cable, stay tuned ill be uploading a video soon on how to lubricate your cables for less resistance.

    thanks I have the same red R3. This is better than a tube switch

    • @chukob5
      @chukob5 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s not... this is only taking out the slack, the r6 throttle tube makes it a shorter twist to full throttle... you can do this by just adjusting the slack on the throttle cable by the break lever... you’re supposed to adjust this area only if your cable is extremely stretched
