Never thought this day would come to be honest! Your back into doing "mechanic" stuff! Welcome back Mr. Grout... what brought me back is actually an internal youtube email YOU sent me in 2015 that i didnt read up till today!!! Lol I thank you for your kind words and what you have shared with me in that email as a friend... and as a friend... we need to talk ... i will figure out how to send you an internal email and we shall take it from there.. welcome back old friend!
I have forgotten what the message was :) To send an email like that go to my home page, click "about" and the find the little message flag, thanks for watching. I think You Tube will be discontinuing the message system in July sometime.
this must have been the first time you take one of those pumps off,you left too much crap attached, that's why you had to fight it so much,LOL.alos,,you normaly find TDC on number 1,then remove the pump lock pin and plug, and reinsert it to lock the pump time, now you're going to have a fun time turning the pump shaft to get it back in time,
I have marine cummins 6bt engines and i dont have enough room to remove front cover and pump gear separately so how to mark timing before removal pump with gear?
What is the hose at 11:15 for that connects to engine block and the back side of the pump? the one that you failed to mention the one that you skipped over in your video the one that has the brass fittings?
That's the cover behind injection pump, I've been working ton a f700 for 2 days because I thought it was an oil line leaking, couldn't test it without putting everything y back together, not to mention this engine has an air compressor for the brakes right below the injection pump. Good times
Actually, no. Pin the engine, pin the pump and voila! Factory timing. You can pin them while together or apart, it doesn't matter. There is only one way for them to be in time. No trick, no magic, just good design.
@@themanchannel8761 so as long as the engine is tdc and the pump is tdc it’ll run as factory timing, I’m running 18 1/2 degrees not sure if that’s too much
They're a lot more fun to install in the truck with your arms out stretched
Upside down..

Keep up the great work man
Did you make sure that the engine and pump was TDC before removing
I was just wondering the same thing lol
Will you give an update on the projects we've seen but not seen finished, like the sandrail and solar heating.

I believe its the return line
Yeah, and how did he get it apart??
no one is better than the other
dewayne barden you must be the other.
What happened to the mini sand rail project.
What size socket to remove the injection. pump shaft nut
Hello sir, i have this type injector pump is working with motor can the injector pump need to convert to motor or it will work?
I sleeve All cranks that look like that, having a leaker once was all it took, i'd rather be safe than sorry over a $20 sleeve.
Uaaaa, what was the gap on the crank sensor?
407ForRent it’s supposed to be .050 inch
I love all these guys that are like yea heres how to do it step one remove the engine
What is the tool called that you used to get the gear off to get to the p pump?
I think I bought that as a steering wheel puller
we want cr500 vids
Mine is leaking a consistent amount of oil behind the fuel pump I can't figure out where it is. Any insight would be helpful
Like on the side of the block? Cause if so that would be your tappet cover gasket
@@trenthaddock3002 yea side of the driver side. Like above power steering pump.. has 332k front mains leaking too

The pump will now need to be timed up at a diesel shop as it is a floating shaft with no key
